Posted: 9/29/2008 10:50:11 AM | When someone tries to do something positive, why is it that someone always wants to question their motives? This is exactly why I no longer host POF parties!
The anonymity enjoyed by POF members unfortunately has a downside because if you become too public of a figure, you are subject to attack by those who hide behind it. Some say that they are new to the site, when it’s obvious that they are not. Some pretend to be proponents of POF while trying to further their own interests. These seem to be the same people who question those who take the initiative to host parties and events for the POF memberships enjoyment. Perhaps that should become grounds for banishment from the site!
I’ve personally known Lindee-1 and Browneyes46 for some time, and I know that their motives for hosting POF events are not profit related. They are interested only in hosting events that benefit POF’s membership by providing those who attend an opportunity to meet new people, make new friends and have a good time in a safe, non-threatening environment. I think their motives are beyond reproach.
For the record, it is against the rules to have an event that benefits a charity.
It’s been a long time since there’s been a POF event in Lakeland, and I personally think it would be good for those in favor of this and future events in Lakeland to stand up and be supportive of your co-hosts. | |

Posted: 9/29/2008 12:32:29 PM | Since it is in Lakeland maybe more ppl under 35 will show up. BUT seeing what the Winter Haven over 35 can do (just a random number don't get mad )- they sure do know how to rock it and can last till 2 am.
So if you are under 35 come on out just the same and try to keep up with over 35. They are on the dance floor all night long! Try it once and you will he hooked.  | |

However, if your under 21, you will be carded by the waitresses/bartenders if you order an alcoholic drink. But there are plenty of us who have fun without the drinks. So if your a member come on out and join us. | |

You are right we can give the young ones a run for their money can't we. Just to let you all know there is a door leading outside to the back patio which is the smoking area so there is a place for the smokers to go out through a side door. Sharon, we look forward to meeting you and I see a whole lot of new  that I have never seen or met. Looking forward to meeting you all. Tigger and I had another wonderful time down there partying with all you fine polk county folk. If it wasnt for the long drive we would make it to more of them. To those of you that sat on your back sides instead of shaking them on the dance floor, you have no one else to blame but yourself, Tigger and I will gladly dance with anyone that needs a partner or assistance with their shyness. Ladies, if you see someone that you would like to dance with but dont have the nerve to make the first move, I will gladly assist you there too all you have to do is ask me and point to the fish you are wanting to swim around on the dance floor with, if you do not know yet, neither Tigger (my bestest of friends) or I are the least bit shy and are more than willing to help anyone have a good time.

drop down into a Lakeland POF gig & meet some fake women for a frustrating night."
