This long drawn out mess started under G.B's watch. Also please stop the lame attempts to instill fear in the voters minds, by intimating that an Obama presidency, equates to appeasement, unless you have facts to back up your assertions.

I cant help but feel Al Qaeda is just waiting for the election to be over to strike us once more. They've been quiet for way too long.
And if O. is elected, we 'll need to bend over and kiss our butt goodbye. Because the party really will be over with then.

Oh right you are.

hmmmmm....

ya know, though, since Pearl Harbor, 'we've never had our soil invaded.

Ahh, but...there was some issue ......

I think it was .........

hmmm........ (fuzzy memory).....(must come with age) lol lol

wasn't there something ...................(still fuzzy)..........maybe ....around ...... september 11, 2001?

oh wait.....Yes.. we got our azzes handed to us that day, didnt' we.

And let's see...... uhm.... (having some trouble here..... my memory blinks out sometimes....)

Help me out...... I'm curious....

who was at the helm (that would be the President) when that happened?

well gosh darn...... it was no other than G. Dubya, wasn't it. Yeah, he and his chronies Cheney, Rumsy, and a whole slew of other neocons.....

aww, but you're right, reddwine.... we need to instill a little more fear......good idea....
Use that trusty ole fear mongering about Obama taking office..... when all reasonable arguement or debate fails....

Thanks hun ()

You know, I thought we'd had this discussion before.... about making those unreasonable assertions about things that are truly without any reason.....

Some things never change....

re:Peddling Fear

She wouldn't have that fear, if Obama was named "Timothy" and spoke with a folksy accent....."Oh yeh shux Joe, Oh yeh yippee 6 pack joe". When Palin speaks, they should insert subtitles, so the rest of us can understand what she is saying.

Florida,Ohio, Pennsylvania and Nevada, all in play for Obama. If he wins just two of these states, game over. This may come down to the state of Ohio, which is a very tough sell, for obvious reasons. If he loses both Florida and Ohio, then he must carry Pennsylvania, he is currently polling ahead, in some of the battleground states.

I believe Yosemite Sam would be offended by the comparison. I'm not sure about my Starsky reference. I routinely confuse Starsky with Tom Selleck lol.

Ouch, man the personal attacks are a nice touch. Thought you obamanites were above that sort thing. But it's cool, I'm a big boy, I can take it especially since Starsky never had a stash. Hutch did for awhile. Fact check that one.

Love it when those true colors come shinin' through. I've got a few to throw back at ya, but we repubs seem to always get banned whenever we make any sort of remark.

So I'll respond back as Obama: umm, uhhh, ummm change you can count in your pocket, ummm, uhhh, socialist medicine for all, if any doctors don't flee the country, ummm, uhhhh, capital gains taxes on businesses if they hadn't left with the doctors, uhhh, ummm, who can we tax now that everyone rich is gone, um,mmm, uhhhhh.

Enjoy the next 4 years.

socialist medicine for all

See I actually heard something said in that impression although wrong.

There has never been anything Socialist about any health care proposal from Hillary's first attempt in the 90s to the present. The sad thing about hearing the slogan of fear regurgitations is that the people telling this to you KNOW the fact there's nothing Socialist about it. Somewhere there is a master campaign strategist for the GOP called Gepetto.

Medicare/Medicaid loses billions to fraud yearly.

Medicare Part D is losing billions to pharma fraud.

Doctors routinely overbill both.

Do you think it will get better or worse when everyone has it. Especially when the doctors are getting paid a fraction of what they are used to, and still expected to maintain the same quality and staff?

In Canada this stuff works. But the government here can't even maintain education. How do you expect it to do with our health at stake?

If you go to an emergency room now with a real problem you have to wait hours because of all the people there with colds and papercuts who don't want to wait to see a doctor mainly because medicare/medicaid pays for it and they could care less how much it costs or the inconvenince it causes.

On the Palin debate, i saw both sides resort to their old talking points, when they ran out of things to say. Watching Biden I saw the same old class warfare points being brought up again and again.

It's the standard play book.

Keep mentioning people that make more money then you and tell everyone that it isn't fair.

Then tell them you will tax the rich and give it to the poor.

Anyone or business that is profitable is Evil for being profitable. They must be taxed to even the playing field.

You can't tax your way to prosperity!!!

So, you have Experience and Change on one side.

Class Warfare and More Taxes (which according to Biden is the patriotic thing to do) on the other side.

Not a great debate, but the choices are pretty clear...

This is a ridiculous thing to say ~ ridiculous and untrue.

Emergency rooms triage every patient who walks through the door and if someone comes in with chest pain, that person will be seen immediately even if there are others who have been waiting for two hours. People are seen in the ER based on the urgency of their medical problem and nothing else.

Your statement is completely, untrue actually. When was the last time you sat in the emergency room? I took my best friend to the emergency room in April, she'd had a brain hemmorage and her blood pressue was 190/150 and we sat for 45 minutes because it was so clogged with people and the staff was running from patient to patient trying to figure out who should be seen first.

Many emergency rooms run short staffed. ERs have closed, adding to the burden of those that remain open. People go to the ER because they are having an emergency and need treatment immediately or they are without health insurance and have no other choice for treatment (or both). In the United States, those without insurance don't have it because they can't afford it. They can't afford it thanks to the economic policy of a government that exists only for the benefit of the wealthy. In the US, health-care does not exist to treat the ill; it exists to line the pockets of the insurance and pharmaceutical industries.

Exactly...but Obama and Biden will change that.

yes, I understand Triage, thank you, but when the staff is so clogged with people milling about and someone who has a life threatening condition is kept waiting 45 minutes because of all the confusion...well darlin' , that's a problem.
People are seen in the ER primarily because they can't be turned away.

It doesnt work.

Please stop the lame remarks, name calling and childish personal attacks, as to how I feel and my opinions. You can debate what I have to say, but this ridiculing and slapping me around because I dont agree with you crap... is so boring.

Im not attempting to do anything but share my views on all this stuff, (just like you do) which is my right and I will do it till the cows come home. The end and period. If you dont like what I have to 'say', stop 'listening', gentlemen, and keep those eyes closed (as usual).

I wont fight with you, but I will debate with you all day long, if thats what you wish.

Playing the victim card, aye reddwine?
Make some senseless, baseless comment and then yell victim when people call you on it? (Waaaaaaa waaaaaawaaaaaaaaa)
What isnt' baseless is that we WERE attacked under Shrub's term.

Judge, thats my story and Im stickin' to it.... Hey you! yeah YOU, the opposing side. Show a little class, will ya? Stop trying to intimidate me because I have an opinion.

Kettle, meet Pot. Pot, Kettle
Show some CLASS???????????????
Hun, if you showed any class, you would recognize the talking points made here, that it was under Shrubs term that we were attacked on our soil for the first time since Pearl Harbor, instead of retaliating, and making outlandish comments of name calling and personal attacks. Use your head and realize where the truth lies. IF you'd like to show some class, step away from the lies and stop ignoring the truths that are evident, rather than waving your flag and making false analogies, fear mongering that we're more likely to be attacked under Obama, when it's the "Cowboy/Bullie" mentality that foreign leaders like Venzuela and Iran Presidents made clear last week on Larry King. It's your parties failed foreign policies that radicals are taking action on, and the world welcomes a negotiator in the Oval Office, not another anti-intellectual cowboy idiot.

No ones ridiculing you, we're meeting your talking points (cough) with straight logic and "fair and balanced" judgement, because your fear mongering is so much in line with Cheney, Bush, McCane and the rest of the rightwing chronies. It's not working anymore, that tactic just doens't fly anymore, and it would appear a number of others would make the same assertions. Peddling fear is so out, it's SOOO yesterday/last year . Lame comments like being attacked under Obama are what stirs the pot, and we all know it

IF someone can't take the heat, they need to stay out of the kitchen.
People need to make comments that they believe in, and live with the repercussions.
Having said that, one needs some pretty thick skin to post in these dabate rooms so it's wise to be willing to accept whatever comes down the pipe. Sure, it's anyones right to write whatever they want.... but we have to be accountable, too.

One of the biggest problems we face as a nation is not our diversity it’s the way in which we address each other, the internet should present us with an opportunity to communicate that communication should represent strength to us, we need to learn to show respect not contempt for one another. Facts and fiction are very hard to determine so opinion becomes the rule, I have an opinion based on the facts as I know them and the experiences I have had in my life time, my opinion is not shared by everyone even some of those the closest to me think differently. We need to learn that differences in opinion are healthy and that we are fortunate to live in a society where we can openly discuss our opinions and that we may be able to learn from one another, fact based opinions give us the knowledge we need to make the right choices

Diversity is not weakness it is the very fabric which will make our nation strong it ensures the continued flow of new ideas and our way of life, it’s hard to communicate in a meaningful way if we do not treat each other with respect. We need to handle this freedom we have before it can help us achieve our potential as a nation and ultimately as a society

EarlzP: Eloquently said. I agree absolutely, 100%.

At the end of the day, its all about respect.

I enjoy mingling and sharing ideas. Who knows, I might be swayed one way or another somewhere in life..and that's not a bad thing. Being free to express and share and 'change' is what Im all about. Being side tracked with a snide remark is a time waster.

The way I feel about certain things aren't sketched in stone and are not shared by everyone. I'm an artist by profession, by nature and by heart. I hope I conduct myself with dignity, on and off the internet. I strive to treat my fellow man with compassion and the respect they deserve, unless otherwise provocked to make a fool of myself in turn. I'm compassionate about things like Texas and all those that I love.... and I love a good clean 'fight'. I love my country and dont mind sharing my opinion on 'things', but will not shove them down your respective throats.

Sharing is golden. It really is. I could actually learn something.
Hey....it could happen.

I give respect and I ask for respect in return.
VOTE intelligently.

I can respect the fact, that you have the right to say what you say. I do not take offense in that at all.

but, I also have the right to expect respect and to be offended if insulted. Being on the internet or in a forum doesnt give one the right to say anything they want, out of the realm of decency, does it? Im very accountable and my skin is pretty thick. The kitchen heat doesnt bother me at all, its whats cooking in the pots that has me bothered. I make comments that I believe in and live with the repercussions as long as they are RESPECTFUL. Hit me with your best shot. Darlin'.

Now, back to topic.
The debate between Palin and Biden, attracted about 70 million viewers, I believe...thats an all time history maker in the v.p debate arena isnt it?
