| Married/living together/divorce
Posted: 10/6/2008 7:41:29 AM | I agree that people are divorcing more now than before because they HAVE that option. Think about it. Back in the day, if you were divorced, you were pretty much shunned from all society. And God forbid a woman want out of her marriage! It was all just a great big seal of shame and abandonment.
Today, people have a lot more freedom to do what they feel they NEED to do; less stress is put on "looking good to the neighbors". Our society isn't tight knit neighborhoods where everyone knows everyone else and spends Sundays making door-to-door social calls anymore. People mind their own business- or at least, they should! | |
