| Male Pattern Baldness or Shave It All Off Or Trim It Short (Your Head Only) LOL Posted: 10/4/2008 10:55:55 PM | | The comb-over is the worst thing. What I think is attractive is just to keep it short where there is hair, or just shave the whole head. Much more attractive than a long fringe around the bald spot and/or a comb over, both of which look awful. For me, facial hair is also a turn off: I don't need a man to try to compensate for the lack of head hair by growing facial hair. These are my personal preferences, that and only that. | |

| Male Pattern Baldness or Shave It All Off Or Trim It Short (Your Head Only) LOL Posted: 10/5/2008 4:54:03 AM | I think the man first has to decide what makes him feel good about himself - if the shaved head makes him feel like a pug dog, then why do it?
As far as a woman's perspective, I, too, do not get the comb overs, just trim it and let it be what it is or shave it off.
I like a clean shaven head as well, but I don't turn away if a guy wears his male pattern baldness by either trimming it close or leaving it natural and long. As long as his head/hair is clean it won't detract from looking in his eyes.

| Male Pattern Baldness or Shave It All Off Or Trim It Short (Your Head Only) LOL Posted: 10/5/2008 7:06:27 AM | | I'm a hairdresser and I can only speak for my clients and what my clients have said over the years. They are worried about head shape if they do decide to shave it all off. I suggest to take it down to a 1/4 inch( seeing scalp alittle). And see if the head shape is ok to them. Then 9 times out of ten they say shave it all off. To me, it does look cleaner and it's probably easier to take care of...sometimes they end up shaving it themselves at home. Like I said, head shape is the main concern ...oh and ears. It's all personal preference though | |

| Male Pattern Baldness or Shave It All Off Or Trim It Short (Your Head Only) LOL Posted: 10/5/2008 9:07:05 AM | Hating baldheads. Where does that come from? I’m thinking commercials like. “NO PLAY FOR MR. GRAY.” And then lets take it one step further. The same product has children intro daddy to painting your cranium. The investment is bound to pay off as children who see this grow up.
I grew up with buzz cuts from the oldman, did the feather in the seventies, the Army for a decade and went hippy after that, but hated the extra heat. When my cousin went bald, I LMAO! I thought it was great and went back to a number 1 or 2 from the neck up. I figured I’d just accentuate the coming baldness. I have been waiting for ten years and the only changes have been that there seems to be more of a salt and pepper look on the floor when I get out of the cutters chair. I’m stuck on wash and wear now whether I go completely bald or not. You won’t catch me leaning forward into a mirror, applying make up either. I let the sun do that on the river.
I really worry about that period of time I had long hair. I keep wondering if it didn’t cook the noodle a bit. I’m sure it’s OK because women have had long hair forever. Not that I would imply anything about that side of the population who’s internal temps, on the whole…and besides hair loss hit’s the entire population.
I think women who shave their heads are sexy and practical. And, I think any man who sees another man with a flipover should slap the top of his head like a V8 commercial.

| Male Pattern Baldness or Shave It All Off Or Trim It Short (Your Head Only) LOL Posted: 10/5/2008 7:19:04 PM | from msg 9 :I like it when men who are bald or balding have their remaining hair cut very short and have a close-cropped beard or goatee and mustache. Yum!
I agree 100% why comb over, doesnt look appealing and you can tell your trying to hide something. Why hide it, nothing wrong with a balding man, there sexy.

| Male Pattern Baldness or Shave It All Off Or Trim It Short (Your Head Only) LOL Posted: 10/6/2008 10:27:29 AM | | This is a very interesting thread. I,myself, used to comb it over, fooling myself into believing that it wasn't noticed. It was a real hassle using tons of hairspray and always wearing hats that I'd have to hold whenever there was a breeze. I'm considering shaving it all off. I guess you just have to accept that you are what you are. When I look at old photos,I still can't believe what I used to do! | |

| Male Pattern Baldness or Shave It All Off Or Trim It Short (Your Head Only) LOL Posted: 10/12/2008 6:55:47 AM | | Some guys look good completely bald, some don't--just depends on the man. But, the worst looks have to be the comb-over or letting the remaining hair grow long and shaggy (apparently to prove they do still have some hair) ---ewwwwww!! If you have partial baldness (i.e., the horseshoe), keeping the rest of the hair short and neat is usually the best choice, at least in my opinion. :) | |

| Male Pattern Baldness or Shave It All Off Or Trim It Short (Your Head Only) LOL Posted: 10/17/2008 9:40:02 AM | "Rogain works. Hair transplant. And tons of other things you can do./" Unless you're really insecure, why would you change who and what you are? Is a man with a great personality any more or less based on how much hair he has???? Personally I don't hide what I have (or in this case, don't have LOL). With or without hair, I'm still me. As far as wearing a cap or hat, well has it occured to anybody that it's not about hiding anything, it's about warmth and protection from the sun. Go ahead, shave your dome and then wander out at -20 and tell me you're warm. Or perhaps go out when the sun is beating down. You haven't lived until you've turned the top of your head into a piece of crispy bacon LOL. As far as I'm concerned, those with less hair have obviously evolved further from their ape ancestors than those with tons of hair. LMAO | |
