Canada's 2008 Election... Conservative win a lock?

The latest polls show the Tories are at 32% - so they seem to have found bottom for their support after sliding for a week. The Liberals are holding at 25%.

Barring anything new and unexpected it looks like the next Parliament will look like the last one.

There was never any serious doubt that Harper would win. But he ended up with less support than he went in with, and didn't get the majority that he said he needed.

Wow...what a prophet.

It was a troll thread to begin with...and a foregone conclusion that this illegally called "ILL-ection" would produce results like these or similar. No prognostication took place.

Just reading the writing on the wall.

The only question is, what do we as Canadians say to the Harper Government for wasting 200 million of OUR money for playing musical chairs???

I believe we should have turfed their asses out...but of course the apathy of the electorate...

"An election...whaa??"

Should be effing mandatory to pass a civics lesson to get a drivers license and voting to keep it...after all, it's far more important. If you can't pass the civics lesson, you should not be allowed to drive...simple as that. Obviously you'd be too stupid to have the power of life and death (potentially) over others in your hands by operating a motor vehicle...why in hell should you be allowed to vote?

Fiddler, the Aussies have mandatory voting I believe. And I'd be for it here if it only applied to persons above a minimum IQ level. We don't want every idiot out voting or we could end up led by the Greens .
Vote or be fined .
But since the election was in contravention of a law sponsored by Harper perhaps his party should foot the bill for the whole thing.

Yeah I agree, thus the mandatory civics course with a pass required...only informed voters.

And I heartily second that idea of the CRAP party picking up the tab.

We have a second. All in favour say aye.
