Do any adults like Disney World without bringing kids?Page 3 of 4    (1, 2, 3, 4)
I can't imagine The Magic Kingdom without kids or grandkids in tow, but Epcot, MGM Studios, or the new jungle themed one would be fun as an adult thing!

I would save the Disney trip to do with kids.

Going to Disney world on an adult outing would not be my idea of a great time. I prefer to go to a nice jazz club or down to palm beach ... but of course that is just my style.

Also gawddd I have done so many Disney trips already with my kids I am pretty much done with that.

Do you think adults would be interested in a kid free Disney date?

Is it fair to ask them to leave their children home?
YES....or should I say....HELL YES! It's MORE than fair...it's preferable!

LOL! I'm an old woman...and I STILL love amusement parks myself....not just as a diversion to keep children occupied! Of course, I haven't been to Disney World for many years (since my children were little) but I found it to be much more of a cultural experience than an "amusement park". Living near Cedar Point....all other "amusement ride parks" are nothing more than "weekend street carnivals" by comparison.

Yes, I'd feel totally confident...and "fair" in asking a date to Disney....MINUS the children!

OOOOOH! Cedar Point...those were the days! I took my 14 yr. old granddaughter to Disney World this past March and had a ball! I put 42 kms. on my pedometer in 7 days. It's not hard to do. I'd definitely be good for an adult date to Disney. Anyone brave enough to go on Space Mountain with me?...

Well, yeah!!!

You don't specify the age of the kid ... I'm a grandmother, and I'm still a "kid"!

I live 11 miles from Disneyland and am there several times a month! (Thanks to an annual pass!)

They have a Swing Band playing there every Saturday night, and it's great to dance, or just listen to the music!

Amusement parks alone ... are not amusing. I belong to a group of mostly adults who share the same feeling, so we always have happy people to hang out with.

It's a great place to get to know people. There is lots of opportunity to chat while waiting in the cues, or while having a bite to eat.

Of course Disney World is for adults as well. Go and have fun! I have been there dozens of times (I live close by) Many functions are planned for adults. Not X rated stuff of couse, we are still taking about Disney. Nothing "odd" or "weird" about it.

Where do I sign up? I have not been, can't wait to go see it all and will be in Fl over the holiday.

OP, are you still looking for company on this trip? I think there are a few of us more than willing to go spend the day being adults at the park.

OP hate to burst your bubble but the food an wine fest at Disney SUCKED, all of the food for the festival is NOT culturally correct and is horrible, pure rubbish compared to dining at a real restaurant with a real chef .

As for Disney as adults only, yeah i have done it but honestly the only real magic of Disney is to take kids, be it your nieces, nephews, or your dates kids, you see it all through their eyes and that really is what makes it magical for you to enjoy it.

I do have to admit the German restaurant there is a buffet, with TONS of meat dishes, it was great and decent entertainment with an oom pa pa band playing.

"They have a Swing Band "

I bet you've danced adjacent to my son and daughter-in-law. They go to swing dance Disney often. Max season pass. First date was Disney ... so he proposed to her at Disney 6 years to the day later.

Ah!!! That's who he interviewed with this week. grins. He practically lives in the park he may as well work for them. grins.

OP has left the pond, but the question is a good one.

Having grown up in Tampa, I've been to Disney World countless times but not in the past few years. I LOVE Disney World and truly believe it is for ADULTS to be kids again. I honestly believe they get more out of it than children do. Or at least, being a big kid at heart, I know that I do.

Yet, it is also a fun place for the whole family, providing you have won the state lottery before you go. WDW has increased its prices considerably in the last few years, so much so, that a family of four (or more) just might choose going to the Space Center and the Astronaut Hall of Fame in Titusville instead -- and still have some money left over to do other things.

For a one time thing, the experience is awesome, but the expense of it all and the crowds make it something that I would not do to often.

Half the fun of going with your children will be to see the look of wonderment and excitement on their faces, and that is worth the price of admission.

If you are there for yourself, what you gain will diminish if you go over and over, and I can think of many other places to explore with adults that would cost far less and the enjoyment just as good.

Well especially if it is a first date don't think people usually bring their kids, you could just tell the person where the date is and that you want to take that woman to it, im sure most mothers don't want to take our kids on a date, unless of course you have met the kids and taking all of us there, have fun, wish i lived in Florida,.

I Loved It! Just Epcot - you can keep the playground. So with that in mind - I say YEAH, that side of the park is perfect for adults solo.

However, there is something so fantastic about seeing a child's face light up when they experience a wonderful weekend or vacation place that every chance I get, I will take the grandkids somewhere like Disney World. Hey, they can push the wheelchair (when I need one) !!!

That's just sad..I would go nuts and kids would get in my way.

Who goes to Disney world/land for the food?

Not!!!

I want to ride and see the fireworks & and run down the street like a kid with out worrying they can't keep up, have to potty or get lost.

Most of them are to short to ride on the rides I like or they are to scary.

I want the animal suit guys to pinch my butt..yee hi!!!!

Absolutely. Been to Disneyland once and Disney World twice. First time I walked through the gates all the things you remember about being a kid come back to you.

And you can have fun as an adult. Pleasure Island at night becomes an adult playground with bars, clubs, street music, etc.

First time I saw the [female] street dancers there I thought to myself Walt must be rolling-over in his grave.
