| If The GOP Can't Win It, They'll Steal It, Thwart It, Block It, Circumvent It, Or Manipulate It Posted: 10/8/2008 5:20:02 PM |
but you are omitting that people who had a physical address until they couldn't pay their mortgage ,lose their house can they vote? Not in some states even if they were in the residence 3-6 months before election. There is also the trick of perfect match such as if your name is splelled wrong or different from your DL,passport,SS card,or got divorced ,or problems wih a birth certificate anyone of these in some states they boot you from the register. How about some states that send out voter cards with name and address but when you get to the polllig place they won't let you vote without seeing your DL even thought the card is proof you are registered ,the voting commitee sends it out to the address and it is supposed to be valid form ,enough to vote with. These are not new laws, these are an old laws that in view of all of the voter fraud allegations are being paid particular attention to. Proper Gov’t issued ID has always been required, and the registration card itself contains no more information than any piece of junk mail you discard daily … Should they only enforce election laws when they favor the Democrats, and ignore the rest? C'mon now, let’s be realistic....
For the Ayers thing ,Ayers was doing those things in 1969 .Obama was 8 or 9, Ayers did his time and went on to be regular citizen with a record. So what if Obama knew him or worked with him 20+ yrs later.Ayers was no longer doing those things in 1995 or whenever Obama knew him.Obama did not know Ayers in 1969,as Obama was not part of the Weather underground aiding or abetting what they did so no guilt by association. I think the biggest problem is that he's lying. There is absolutely no way a Presidential Candidate could not know that a close associate for 20 years is an unrepentant domestic terrorist formerly wanted by the FBI and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, who was put on the F.B.I.'s 10 Most Wanted List. J. Edgar Hoover called her ''the most dangerous woman in America'' and ''la Pasionara of the Lunatic Left.''. One of the children being raised by the Ayers is actually the child of fellow weathermen, Chesa Boudin, 21, the son of David Gilbert and Kathy Boudin, who are serving prison terms for a 1981 robbery of a Brinks truck in Rockland County, N.Y., that left four people dead.
Or Olbermann said Palin( Palin was not in Africa either BUT,she let Muthee pray for her to become successful politician and "lay hands on her" pray away any evil spirits)had associated with a pastor Muthee who got his claim to fame in Africa by declaring someone a witch.Muthee gathered a crowd and threatened this person if they did not leave town she would be forced out. What do ya call that action ?"domestic terror. How about the Palins connection to Alaska independence party whose leader Vogel(?) stated He hated everythng about the GD 'd U.S.and it's institutions would not be buried under it's flag wanted Alaska to be an independent country by any means necessary would that not be treason ?(to cede from the Union)or at least a terror like threat?A party that SP taped a speech for 2007 or 08 Now at their rallies people in the crowd are shouting "Kill him" when Palin/McCain talk about Obama being different, seeing a different America 1.) Do you really want to start another round of discussion about the religious backgrounds of the candidates? 2.) Promoting secession is not a criminal action. It seems like lunacy to the majority of the citizenry given how well it worked out the last time it was tried ... about 150 years ago I believe. 3.) No candidate is free from hecklers, some over zealous supporters can do more harm than good, and as we know from the Democratic Primary, some candidates are not above plants.. 4.) Ask yourself this question…. Is Muthee a close personal friend from Palin's 20’s whom she claims to have no knowledge of his past actions, good or bad? Or is he simply a visiting Pastor who gained notoriety by laying his hands on the Governor? If you actually read the story on Wikipedia it’s far less sensational than what your post infers. The woman seemingly proclaimed herself to be a witch…. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Muthee

| If The GOP Can't Win It, They'll Steal It, Thwart It, Block It, Circumvent It, Or Manipulate It Posted: 10/9/2008 6:24:55 PM | I think that he is lying ther is absolutely no way a presidential candidate that a close associate for 20 yrs.is an unrepentant domestic terroririst formerly wanted by the F.B.I.....One of the children being raised by Ayers is actually child ...etc.etc. I do not understand what is Obama lying about I(personally) have not seen anywhere that Obama stated that he knew Ayers was or was not a FORMER weather underground member.your post states the words formerly wanted he was acquitted .No? Besides Obama did not "pal " around with Ayers when the acts were comitted in 1969!they do not go out and blow up buildings together!crucial logic between 1969 and 1995-whenever Hoover he thought everyone was a danger to America .Far as raising someone else's child that would only argue the point that maybe Ayers ain't all bad;so thanks Oh and (c) Ayers was not a "close associate" Obama and he have crossed paths taught at same college, met at fundraisers, helped the community serving on same boards an associate ,perhaps; close ?not any closer than McCain and Keating ,McCain and the Antidefamation League Back ground of religion of candidates is important in ways not always evident ,but important in their world views if someone has someone else"pray away the evil spirits" and the one praying for the evil spirits to leave; has branded someone a witch(whether she claimed it herself ,or an angry mob did. No credit to WIKIPEDIA more credit several articles from more reliable sources) the gist of the matter is how a pastor/minister can believe in witches and still be a credible "man of God"JMO but NO! That is a pretty limited view of good and evil in the world and that is what makes Palin ( notice how cautious SP is about talking about any church affiliation)and her witch doctor/pastor one step away from Puratinism next she might sic Muthee on her ex B-I-L cause he hexed her campaign. But Hey Muthee is the least of her religious mentors to worry about let's talk Dominionist and Joel's Army and riding the wave of the spirit, and faith talking (tongues)crowds fainting for Jesus and rolling on the floor. Faith in the extreme can be very limiting and dangerous as to how one sees the world because they actively force their beliefs on others.Wouldn't ya be worried about your safety if ya saw someone talking/acting abnormal as you would someone speaking Arab or prostrate praying to Allah?
Promoting secession is not criminal?( I'm sure I said treason and treason is punishable by law and written into the constitution) like stated that was done 150+ yrs ago.I am sure there were say soldiers from Confederate states were imprisoned or worse for treason. "Should laws be enforced that favor only Democratic Party voters to vote " or vice versa should rules /tricks such as caging, suppression, disenfranchisement, something as simple as a spelling error get you kicked off register.Hell No

There is absolutely no way a Presidential Candidate could not know that a close associate for 20 years is an unrepentant domestic terrorist formerly wanted by the FBI Lying? Close associate?
Smear groups and now a desperate McCain campaign are trying to connect Barack to William Ayers using age-old guilt by association techniques. Here’s the truth: the smear associating Barack to Ayers is “phony,” [http://www.suntimes.com/news/commentary/822560,CST-EDT-edit03a.article] “tenuous,” [http://blog.washingtonpost.com/fact-checker/2008/02/obamas_weatherman_connection.html#more] – even “exaggerated at best if not outright false.” [http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D93KD6Q00&show_article=1]
William Ayers is a professor of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, with whom Barack served on the board of an education-reform organization in the mid-1990’s. According to the Associated Press, they are not close: “No evidence shows they were “pals” or even close when they worked on community boards years ago …”
Smear groups and the McCain campaign are trying to connect Obama to acts Ayers committed 40 years ago – when Barack was just eight years old. Here’s what the New York Times reported on the connection [http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/04/us/politics/04ayers.html?_r=1&oref=slogin]:
"But the two men do not appear to have been close. Nor has Mr. Obama ever expressed sympathy for the radical views and actions of Mr. Ayers, whom he has called “somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8.”
Barack has publicly denounced Ayers’ radical actions from the 1960’s:
Senator Obama strongly condemns the violent actions of the Weathermen group, as he does all acts of violence. But he was an eight-year-old child when Ayers and the Weathermen were active, and any attempt to connect Obama with events of almost forty years ago is ridiculous.
Let me guess....none of these sources are reliable. They're all lying.

It becomes cartoonish after awhile.
The sad thing about the GOP campaign methods is that they know the truth on this matter. They sit at a table and say 'We can throw this out there. Ignore the facts and likelihood and there are people that will eat it up like pudding fed to them at the nursing home". They mock you Tim. You're better and smarter than this to the point it should piss you off like it did me years ago.
Ayers should have been caught instead of a fugitive f0r 10 years. (It must have been Republicans looking for him like they are Bin Laden). He should have gone to jail and probably shouldn't be an educator. That's one thing on which I think everyone should agree. But he became a scholar, a respected Professor, and a philanthropist. From the time he got his doctorate he's done more selfless good than most Republicans have in their entire lives. These Republicans complaining about what Ayers did 40 years ago are the same ones that have trained, armed, and supported Terrorists in Afghanistan and Central America more recently and since have done nothing to redeem themselves. Who are they to point fingers?

October 09, 2008 McCain in a Bear Market By George Will
...the McCain-Palin campaign's attempt to get Americans to focus on Obama's Chicago associations seem surreal -- or, as a British politician once said about criticism he was receiving, "like being savaged by a dead sheep."... But I guess he's full of sh** too.
John McCain is losing it before our eyes...changing tactics by the day, changing subjects by the day...desperately throwing anything he can grasp out there for public consumption in the hope something ~ anything ~ will stick and he can cut into Obama's lead. Country first? I'm thinking not so much. More like McCain first ~ piss on the citizens of this country.

Does that mean that these Republicans, just by supporting Ayers, are also terrorists by association too?

The Annenberg Foundation - Terrorist Financers by Jimmy Crackcorn Thu Oct 09, 2008 at 05:08:31 AM PDT In 1968 William Ayers was leader of the Weatherman, a well known domestic terrorist organisation.
In 1993 William Ayers, Anne Hallett, and Warren Chapman decided to apply for a grant from the Annenberg Foundation for $49.2 Million to improve and reform Chicago's public schools.
In 1994 Ayers, Hallett and Chapman gathered a 73-member Chicago School Reform Collaborative Working Group from organizations involved in school reform to help them draft a proposal which was submitted to Vartan Gregorian, president of Brown University, for review and approval. Adele Smith Simmons, Deborah Leff, and Patricia Albjerg Graham helped negotiate its approval by Gregorian.
In 1995, the Chicago Annenberg Challenge was awarded the $49.2 millon grant by the Annenberg Foundation. Who are these scary people that showed such poor judgement that they were willing to fund and work with a known domestic terrorist?
The following is a list of people who found William Ayers acceptable to work with. Some are Republicans, some are Democrats, some have endorsed John McCain in 2008 and some even currently work on John McCain's 2008 campaign. Most are well respected people but apparently they all loves them some terrorists.
Someone should make an ad calling the Annenberg Foundation a terrorist financer and see how many republicans freak out in response to this garbage:
Walter Hubert Annenberg, Terrorist Financer Provided William Ayers with a $49.2 Million grant. During his lifetime, it is estimated that Annenberg donated over US$2 billion. "Education...", he once said, "holds civilization together"[8]. Many school buildings, libraries, theaters, hospitals, and museums across the United States now bear his name. His collection of French impressionist art was valued at approximately US$1 billion in 1991 and was donated to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City upon his passing in 2002. In 1990, he donated $50 million to the United Negro College Fund which was the largest amount ever contributed to the organization Walter's widow, Leonore has endorsed John McCain in 2008

| If The GOP Can't Win It, They'll Steal It, Thwart It, Block It, Circumvent It, Or Manipulate It Posted: 10/10/2008 4:53:57 AM | GOP can cheat all its wants its base wants it money back. First, if McCain loses to Obama does it mean the world gonna fold over no?
The democrats and Republicans have washed themshevles into voting fixing for 200 years. For example, JFK won in 1960 becuase Mayor Daley had his poltical cronies make sure dead people in Chicago voted for JFK. Outside Chicago metro area Nixon won 90% of the counties with the exception of the counties around Chicago area where 70% of the population lives. Election of 1876 President Rutherford Hanyes won Indiana and Ohio by paying Copperhead Democrats a little cash to ensure the GOP won 1876. The reality is elections are never 100% clean because politicans and thier hacks will try to win at all costs. If people on both sides are denied the right to vote because of thier home foreclosed the GOP is gonna risk lawsuit because thier are state, local, federal laws prohibit voting discrimintation based on race, income, ethnicity. States like Ohio should be put under voting rights act of 1965 like Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississsippi if imitation is found to be present. Think you should be to register and vote on the same day Minnesota does it and it raises turnout and involves more people into politcal process.

If The GOP Can't Win It, They'll Steal It, Thwart It, Block It, Circumvent It, Or Manipulate It
BOTH parties are at fault for using dirty campaign tactics and anyone who thinks only one side is guilty, could really benefit from stepping outside of their comfort zone and start paying attention to what their own party is doing.
“We will have a list of foreclosed homes and will make sure people aren’t voting from those addresses,” party chairman James Carabelli told Michigan Messenger in a telephone interview earlier this week.
Possible, but very debatable.
James Carabelli claimed that what he originally said was: voter challengers needed to "make sure [voters] are who they say they are". According to him, nothing was mentioned about foreclosures in the interview.
Mr. Carabelli has denied that he ever mentioned foreclosures and is in fact, pressing charges against the Michigan Messenger for libel (slander).
To make it even more suspicious, the Michigan Messenger has ADMITTED to having twisted the words of Republican politicians in the past, on-- get this...... HOUSING FORCLOSURES!!!
http://www.mlive.com/elections/index.ssf/2008/09/mich_messenger_agrees_it_misst.html
So its a proven fact that they've lied about this very subject once already.
Michigan Republicans plan to foreclose African-American voters
.....has got to be one of the most stupid and misleading quotes I've ever read. When all else fails scream racism, right?
I can only imagine how that interview went:
James Carabelle: ....and remember, we need to make sure people aren't committing voter fraud by ensuring that they are registered to vote through a legitimate registration process."
Michigan Messenger: OH MY GOD HE’S RACIST!!!!!
Campaigns Enter New Phase of Attack in Final Month
Barack Obama is shifting focus to health care while John McCain is reportedly moving to toughen his attacks on Obama's character.
The Washington Post reported Saturday that McCain plans to launch a new assault on Obama's character and judgment, as his aides find McCain's focus on his war-hero biography and maverick roots is not providing enough lift to close the gap in the polls in the final month of campaigning. The Post reported the new focus is also part of an attempt to shift the discussion away from the economy.
McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds indicated Saturday the campaign would weave in more criticisms of Obama in the weeks ahead.
"When we talk about Barack Obama, there's a lot of things that we'd like to talk about. There are associations that are important to who Barack Obama is as a candidate," Bounds told FOX News. "We're talking about ourselves, we're talking about a straight-talking maverick. I think that is punching through, but we're going to talk about Barack Obama's failed record, his inexperience."
As to the health care criticisms, Republican National Committee spokesman Alex Conant responded, "Barack Obama is lying about John McCain's plan to provide more Americans with more health care choices. Obama's plan only offers more government, while McCain's plan offers more choices."
Polls show Obama has taken a lead in the race recently, fueled by voters who give him the edge over McCain in ability to handle the struggling economy. The campaign said they long planned to focus on economic issues in these final weeks of the campaign, but the debate over the government's $700 billion financial industry bailout focused voters on those concerns more than they could have imagined.
The push on health care is an opportunity to raise the debate on a pocketbook issue that voters rank near the top of their concerns as the campaign enters its final month. According to an AP-Yahoo News poll taken last month, 78 percent of voters rate health care as at least a very important issue, which puts it behind the economy in a group of second-tier issues along with Iraq and terrorism.
The candidates have sharp differences on how to address increasing health care costs and help cover more than 47 uninsured Americans.
Obama wants the government to subsidize the cost of health coverage for millions who otherwise would have trouble affording it on their own. He also would also require all but small businesses to make a "meaningful" payment for health coverage of their workers or contribute a percentage of payroll toward the cost.
McCain wants patients to have more control over their care and how their health care dollars are spent. His tax credit could help people buy insurance through their employer or directly from insurers in the individual market, licensed in any state...
That is pretty weak on McCain's part. He really should just stick with the issues that matter.
On the flip side the Democrats have done some pretty lame things too. Check out what Larry Flynt (a liberal, and the owner of Hustler) did:
http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2008/10/06/2008-10-06_new_details_on_larry_flynts_sarah_palin_-1.html
How mature. Both sides have done some name calling but filming a pornography in order to mock and humiliate a female politician? I haven't seen the right wing do anything remotely like that during this race.
And the sad part is, a lot of Obama supporters will probably laugh at Sarah Palin without ever stopping to realize that this type of behavior only highlights how low politics and Americans in general have truly sunk.

In light of the scandalous behaviors of past administrations, I beg to differ. Having turned the cheek and ignored unacceptable behavior by those we have empowered to "protect us" from such is a shame. We gave it all away .. just slowly handed the power of the people over and it didn't matter who - democrat or republican - was in office. We slept through it and they welcomed it.

| If The GOP Can't Win It, They'll Steal It, Thwart It, Block It, Circumvent It, Or Manipulate It Posted: 10/11/2008 8:00:04 AM | "No Scrooge, just having a good laugh at how you and Eric seem to act like covert military espionage, super-duper secret squirrels. Where'ya burying those nuts......er......missiles?"
Sorry but I dont think that would be correct. First I am in no way connected to any military organization at this time. That was many years ago. Nothing I post has anything to do with Eric nor do I agree with him on all points. What I do post are facts gleaned from various news organizations and factcheck.com and as such nothing very secret about it. Neither do I espouse the general bash happy ads performed by both groups and think it is repugnant to say the least. I have been however answering those who on this particular thread and others who are in fact doing nothing but posting false or misleading representations and then pointing to them as fact. Several times I have mentioned to "some" on here about their sources and the only answer I get is either an attack on myself personally or a "thats my source and I'm sticking to it". I understand that you and I are on opposite ends of the spectrum politically but to attack me personally on my views as opposed to yours only goes to show you cannot take what you dish out much like the "poster" who attacked me and when I answered didn't care for the answer so reported it and my "style" of posting as aggregious in their opinion. Obviously the mods saw what was going on and know that what I was doing was not what I was accused of so yes I am "still" here and still putting both my political views and opinions out for debate. Sure seems to happen quite a lot though that when those who cannot answer what I pose only attack or degrade and make snide remarks concerning my ability to reason. This seems to be "Modus Operandi" for many on here.
As for ACORN now there seems to be an inquiry into their doings by Congress itself though in THIS respect I dont believe that much will be done about it as there are some earmarks in the new bill that when passed seems to go not directly to ACORN but to be "administered " by them. Nothing in the bill pleases me and in MY opinion the bill should never have passed which only goes to prove my point that Congress both the House and Senate have a great disconnect between what they perceive as good for the country and what Citizens themselves believe are good for them. As such in my opinion Congress has become an entity not of the people and for the people but rather one unto themselves to further THEIR goals and agendas.
It seems that the new way to protest by the liberals is that if they lose it is because of voter fraud perpetrated by the republicans and now a battle cry for them to chant. Funny though how all the fraud allegations revolve around either ACORN or the liberals.

If he has made a porn to mock Palin, I think that's disgusting and very low indeed and I would never condone such behavior.
I don't think "a lot of Obama supporters will probably laugh at Sarah Palin without ever stopping to realize that this type of behavior only highlights how low politics and Americans in general have truly sunk." I think the vast majority of Obama supporters care about the issues, as Obama does.
Personally, I'm not interested in watching a pissing contest between the two candidates. I'm supporting Obama because of his stance on the issues and for no other reason. If McCain had plans for this country that were in line with my beliefs and opinions about what would benefit the country most, I would be voting for him. But his policies and the few plans he's actually stated....I find frightening. The things he wants to do in terms of the war, health care, taxes, and foreign relations ~ they will not only be unhelpful to the situation we are currently in ~ they will do harm. Much harm.

There are monumental differences between the policies they're proposing for this country. This election is not a personality contest and I wish people would stop treating it as such.
* Privatize Social Security? What if yours or your parents' had been in the stock market this past week? * Cut Medicare? Not good news for us when we reach qualifying age. * Tax your health care benefits? * Perpetuate this illegal war indefinitely? * Start more wars and further damage our reputation in the world? * Provide billions more in tax cuts to big oil and pharmaceutical companies?
And those are just some of the things McCain will do. What won't he do?
* Create programs for people who are in danger of losing their homes. * Create programs to make sure everyone has the chance to go to college. * Take care of our veterans when they return home with benefits they deserve. * Create programs that will help the 42 million Americans who have no health insurance. * Provide more regulation of health insurance companies who give patients the shaft. * Create programs to truly end our dependence on foreign oil and create jobs. * END THIS WAR.

...both the House and Senate have a great disconnect between what they perceive as good for the country and what Citizens themselves believe are good for them.
Funny though how all the fraud allegations revolve around either ACORN or the liberals
I agree with you about the disconnect--this thing was slammed home before anyone could process what it all meant--we're still trying to figure it out, and I don't think we'll know anytime soon what the true outcome will be.
Where you lost me was in your final statement. Voters in this country have the right to be angry about the loss of their votes due to fraud or outright manipulation of the ballots or voting machines. It happened. We don't want it to happen again--I don't want your vote to be flushed, and I want mine counted. Although I am not a Liberal (whatever that really means), I do validate the strong emotions of those. like myself, who cherish our right to vote, and to have that vote counted.

Never fear I am sure that where there is a will there is a way

would really be interested in seeing how they are going to place the blame on the republicans. the dem's have been saying since this summer that the only way obama would loose is if the repub's steal this election. They have to have some one to blame when he looses. Just think faith, if this race started two years ago, when will the next president race start? This summer?

| If The GOP Can't Win It, They'll Steal It, Thwart It, Block It, Circumvent It, Or Manipulate It Posted: 10/13/2008 6:55:16 PM | I'm guessing these are the thing Obama will do, right?
Let's address it point by point:
* Create programs for people who are in danger of losing their homes. (forgot to add at a huge cost to those who paid for theirs on time. Right?)
* Create programs to make sure everyone has the chance to go to college. (at a huge cost to those who already scrimp and save to send their own children to college. Right?) * Take care of our veterans when they return home with benefits they deserve. (this one would be nice, but I bet it never gets out of the house or senate after he pushes the pet projects in.)
* Create programs that will help the 42 million Americans who have no health insurance. (at a huge cost to taxpayers and will screw up the healthcare system beyond all recognition.) * Provide more regulation of health insurance companies who give patients the shaft. (and in doing so cause healthcare rates to skyrocket for those not poor enough to get any of Obama's help.)
* Create programs to truly end our dependence on foreign oil and create jobs. (none will be off the ground in four years time and that's really all he has)
* END THIS WAR. (no sooner than anyone could and send us back to Afghanistan where it will cost approximately the same to find a guy who may already be dead)
Oh, and let's not forget the billions in aide to countries who would rather see us dead.
The above are all wonderful ideas. But can anyone on this forum please tell me where he expects to find the time and money to accomplish all this? I listened to his speech in Ohio the other day and for over an hour he was making promise after promise about all he was going to do. It's just not possible for him (or anyone else) to do all these things without taxing us all back to the stoneage. The man's naivity floors me.

| If The GOP Can't Win It, They'll Steal It, Thwart It, Block It, Circumvent It, Or Manipulate It Posted: 10/13/2008 6:58:19 PM | my point on this thread is that the dem's will do any thing and everything to win this election. When they loose, they will have many reasons to blame for their defeat, except the real reason. That most American don't believe obama's tax and spend policies will fix the economy, and all the other issues that the dem's stands for. Of course I've been wrong before. | |

| If The GOP Can't Win It, They'll Steal It, Thwart It, Block It, Circumvent It, Or Manipulate It Posted: 10/13/2008 8:06:19 PM | In all honesty I am beginning to wonder if having Obama would in effect be a good thing. If this were to happen then maybe more people will see and understand just how screwed up he will leave this country and then vote him and the entire House and Senate out of existence replacing them with people who will work FOR US and not themselves. But of course then if that happened it would all be the republicans fault for allowing him to do this right Personally when the CHAOS war starts I am going to sit back and say I told you so Then if this thread is still around in say 4 years cut and paste every one of those liberal bash posts and see them sputter in indignation | |

Um, Oliver North was a terrorist.
Yeah, that alone proves that there is no intelligence in this forum. You are going to call a former Marine, who is decorated (and became a scapegoat) a terrorist? So exactly what is PETA? ELF? A group of people who are misunderstood?
He is no more of a terrorist than you are sir.
One more question? Do you happen to know Congressman Murtha? This is something that he would say.
