Saturday 9/19 The Saint Louis Pirate Festival!
Posted: 9/14/2009 5:30:04 PM
Talk Like a Pirate Day @ The Saint Louis Pirate Festival!

Saturday, September 19th

Rotary Park
2577 W. Meyer Road
Wentzville, MO 63348

1:30 Lunch at The Dead Parrot Pub

All tickets are $8.00
5 and under are free

*Free Parking*

*Note: Lunch is NOT included in the cost of your ticket. There are various food and beverage vendors on the faire grounds and alcohol is available - so eat, drink and be merry... or walk the plank! Arrrr!

Enter the gates and follow the main path up the hill and back down almost as far as the path will take you (It's really not that far). At the bottom of the hill, to your right, you will see a pirate ship stage and to your left a stone wall, a food vendor and then the Dead Parrot Pub. We will be meeting, greeting and eating in this area.

Pirate Fest gates open at 10:00 so if you get there in the morning you should have plenty of time to meander the path, listen and watch various shows and performers before getting to The Dead Parrot for lunch.

DIRECTIONS

Westbound
Take I-70 West from STL (or Hwy 40 to I-70W) To Wentzville to the Wentzville Parkway (formerly Pearce Blvd.) Exit (Exit 208). Turn Right onto Wentzville Parkway. At West Meyer Road turn left. Continue to Rotary Park on the Right.

Eastbound
Take I-70 East from Kansas City to Wentzville at the Wentzville Parkway (formerly Pearce Blvd.) Exit (Exit 208). Turn Left onto Wentzville Parkway. At West Meyer Road turn left. Continue to Rotary Park on the Right.

SOME BASIC INFO

Tipping
Many of the performers will "pass the hat" after a performance. This, along with DVD and CD sales are how they make their livelihood. If you enjoy a show and appreciate their hard work please show them by dropping a couple bucks in "the hat".

Pets
We are a pet friendly faire. All pets must be registered at the front gate prior to entry into our faire. Please bring proof of current vaccinations. All dogs must be leashed at all times. There is water available, so bring a travel dish. Wentzville City Ordinance requires Pitbulls and Pitbull Mixes to be muzzled and on a lead no longer than 4 feet.

Weapons
All Edged weapons must be covered with cloth or a sheath. All weapons must be zip tied so they cannot be drawn. Twine and leather are not acceptable. Wooden and Plastic swords do not have to be zip tied. Replica Guns are allowed but must be zip tied so they cannot be drawn. NO Real Firearms Allowed!

Saturday 9/19 Pirates everywhere!
Posted: 9/14/2009 8:16:01 PM
After the Pirate Festival, there is a party at O'Aces and a party at the Loading Dock. As Dr. Seuss would say, "You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose."

Oh! The places to go! Decisions, decisions! Can we stop at all three?

Griffin & The Gargoyles will be at House of Rock this Friday night, Oct 2, playing from 9-1;

It's been ages since I've seen these guys, what do you all say?

Party it up in south county tomorrow night?????????????????

I believe I'll go even if I have to sit there on my own, they're awesome to listen to!!!

Holy cow, it sounds like I haven't been out in months, well for dancing, it definitely seems like it! I can't make the gig in Wentzville Saturday night so this is my pre-lude to that Halloween Party.

Cover is usually $5 and starts around 7:45 or sooner, get there earlier if you don't want to pay the cover charge.

They serve pizza only if you need food when you get there, you may want to chow down elsewhere.

Let me know as soon as you can!!

Thanks

Denise ~

It's almost Friday, let's have some fun!!!

Thanks, Denise! I love Griffin and the Gargoyles. We may have to make our way up there this weekend. I wanted to attend the Wentzville party but that is just too far to drive after you've been drinking...at least for me.

Maybe, Alicia, Laura and I will see you there.

make that maybe a YES and I'll be calling for tables around noon tomorrow;

better yet, if folks know they are going to make it, just go ahead and reserve a table in your name, that makes it way easier than tossing it all on one person!

here's a link to House of Rock's website
They now have a free Friday night Happy Hour Buffet from 5:30pm-7pm

http://www.stlhouseofrock.net/
their # to reserve tables is: 314-842-2550

call before evening, of course to ensure a place to sit!
claim tables before 8:30 p.m.

^^^^^Sorry I didn't make it. Alicia didn't feel like goin after driving back from Jeff City, I worked all day being mentally drained tryin to retain so much information for this new job and my kids finally being gone, I just wanted to sit and enjoy peace and quiet. Also, I was thinking it was tomorrow, go figure. Always a day late and a dollar short. I hope to get out with you all again soon though. Keep in touch and let me know what's going on, just in case I don't check the forums.
