BTW...to those of you who have tried our cheeses...we just won WORLD Competition in the Canary Islands...1 gold and 2 bronze awards....how cool is that??? A WORLD TITLE...

Posted: 10/20/2009 8:42:39 PM | Apple Butter Festival in Kimmswick this weekend...10-5 both Saturday and Sunday...I will be there selling cheese...yes...cheese...and Lainey don't get funny on this one...there will lots of vendors there...crafters, food, clothes, etc...they usually say thousands go thru...can get crowded but it is fun...
Look forward to seeing some of you there before the halloween party at Fandango's...not sure what time I will be finished, so can't say whether I will make it to the party...but I'll try...
if I don't make it to Fandango's...I hope to see you at the next Halloween party on the 29th of Oct...JP's Corner...be there!!!

Posted: 10/21/2009 6:20:00 PM | Thought I would add some more details to the Apple Butter Festival info since it used to be practically in my backyard!
This years Festival is from 10am-5pm, and as a result the city will be closed to vehicle traffic during those hours. This is the largest single event in Jefferson County. It is estimated to draw near 100,000 people. The Apple Butter Festival is FREE, but expect to pay at least $5 for parking. Paid parking will be available off of Highway K with just a short walk into town. Shuttle parking is available too, so watch for the signs. Visitors may park at Windsor School campus and ride a free shuttle bus into the Festival. The busses will run throughout the day shuttling visitors to/from the parking area at the School.
There will be hundred's of vendor booths throughout the city park selling a variety of crafts and food items. Live entertainment will also be provided by the City of Kimmswick and the Kimmswick Merchants. There is no longer an ATM at the Blue Owl Restaurant due to a lack of use . The Apple Butter Festival started in 1977 and has been growing larger and larger each year ever since. All of the town shops are open and accessible only via foot traffic. Don't forget to buy some of the famous apple butter made fresh during the festival by the Kimmswick Historical Society at the Apple Butter Pavilion on Market Street. From past experience, we have found that the best time to arrive at the Apple Butter Festival is between 10am and 11am on Sunday morning due to the fact that many people are in church. If you can, beat the crowds and go early!
Don't forget SATURDAY NIGHTS Rocky Horror Fandango's Show, at Fandango's in Kirkwood/Valley Park. StaggerCatt has not only added some new tunes to their party jams, but they also have learned 5 RHPS songs! There is a CASH PRIZES costume contest and spooktacular ALL NIGHT specials, like $2 well drinks/domestic bottles! | |

Thanks for the additional info on the Apple Butter Festival in Kimmswick..I knew that last year they (Kimmswick officials) told us that they expect up to 100,000 people...thought that was out of line for the town of Kimmswick, but I was wrong...I worked it last year and had a great time selling goat cheese (international, national, state and local award winning, I might add) we were sooooo busy handing out samples of the cheeses...didn't have time to take a drink break...
Make sure you take cash...which always works for the vendors...most take credit cards/checks too...
stop by and say hi ...I'll give ya some samples to try...this stuff is the bomb !!!!

Posted: 10/24/2009 8:50:01 AM | I love the smell of the burn out pit, too! It can tend to get to be too much...but that aftermath is what is acrid and good at the same time!
But...there are ALWAYS parties at Jacks...and Halloween comes once a year! Hope to see some of you at the Rocky Horror Fandango's Show...even you, ThatRussGuy1!
