Make people actually get out and register themselves. Problem solved.

But then they'd apparently never show up, according to many on here. Maybe it's not that important to them (the potential voter, that is) unless a six pack is involved. Because unless they are disabled, if they really want to vote, they'll find a way to. There should be a group that helps the disabled & otherwise unable register (without influence on which party to register with) if they wish to register, but this going out and bribing and otherwise influencing those with no real interest is a bunch of crap. But then again, most will probably never show at the polls anyway. More money well spent.

I don't think either party really cares about an honest election. They want their guy in at any cost. One party can afford a much bigger cost this year because they failed to keep promises they made. And I'm sure that will be the first of many unkept promises should that parties' candidate get elected.

ronjo58 you're in denial..... too funny. Go back and read my post #200 and harlie's post #241. That's voter registration fraud....Republican style!

ok here is what was stated in msg 200:

The firm hired by the California Republican Party -- a small company called Young Political Majors, or YPM, which operates in several states -- has been accused of using the tactic across the country.
Election officials and lawmakers have launched investigations into the activities of YPM workers in Florida and Massachusetts. In Arizona, the firm was recently a defendant in a civil rights lawsuit. Prosecutors in Los Angeles and Ventura counties say they are investigating complaints about the company.
The firm, which a Republican Party spokesman said is paid $7 to $12 for each registration it secures, has denied any wrongdoing and says it has never been charged with a crime.

According to what was posted, YPM was hired by the Republican party to register voters. YPM was accused of commiting voter fraud.
The Republican party was never investigated and paid YPM 7 to 12 bucks for registering new voters. As I said, I hope the Republicans stopped the check or checks they gave to YPM
Before I am unfairly accused of being "IN Denial" you should read what you post and what I said in mine.

You'll have to get your self a call center and get thousands of people to track down all those donations.

If you go donate to Obama through his website all the donations can be tracked to the owners of the credit cards where you'll find mine in there for several $25.00 payments to that account. Track down my phone number and ask me about my payments, I tell you I made them and you can repeat the process several millions of times and you can talk to each and every donor.

naaaa, all Obama has to do is publicize the donors list....which he refuses to do.

Actually I don't blame Obama for keeping it a secret. If I had accepted donations from Daffy Duck and company, Id be too embarrassed to tell anyone, also.

It's no secret;

http://www.opensecrets.org

This will tell you everything you want to know about the money, down to individual donors. You can also see where rambo and tinker bell make donations to mccain too!

McCain is embarrassed about how little he was getting. That, and having no substance in his plans is why they need to depend on rumors and innuendo.

Even if true, it goes to the heart of requiring a legitimate photo and maybe even a fingerprint identification for voters

msg 244

None of you have except one that posted something about a canadien company hired by the Republican party to register voters.

ronjo58, that was your response to the story of the GOP Contractor's voter registration fraud and subsequent arrests in CA.

The GOP is slinging mud at ACORN when they themselves are involved in voter registration fraud!

I wonder why it is that dems say they are the poorer party, yet they all seem to be able to shell out for a candidate they think has already won. Either that or millions of the nations poor are taking food off their children's plate to make sure Obama takes the election.

Didn't you hear that he wasn't really born in a manger...he came from the planet Krypton!
And this Democrat sure has never been into poor me. Because that would be a lie...I am doing very very well, but below the $250K needed so I would have to pay higher taxes.

Possibly because they too busy trying to keep making Obama look like the god that he isn't. That's a full time job, especially with Biden running around with diarrhea of the mouth.

["Sorry kids, leftover Ramen again tonight, we had to donate to the messiah." ]

It's not that they are the poorer party, it's that they pander to the poor because that's where they can pick up the vast majority of the votes.

Just think, if the poor get richer, then the Democrats will lose their voter base.

What does that mean...?

[and like a lot of the posters they ignore posts with facts contrary to what they believe. ]

Well if that's not the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know what is. Where is the cry for hypocrisy and lies?

To the ladies that are addressing my messages, allow me to be clear on two things. First of all when I read Ontario, yes I made the error of not seeing the california part of your message. That dosen't mean I am ignorant of geography, just that I missed that part.
Second of all, I don't care who commits election or voter fraud, it should be investigated and dealt with. No matter the party or parties. Hopefully that will clear up any doubts of how I feel about voter fraud. That is why I advocate Photo and fingerprint ID when it comes to being identified to vote.

I agree w/ photo and fingerprint ID. Those that argue that, have something to hide or are just too lazy to take the extra effort. Now days with identity theft so rampid, fingerprinting only makes sense. Just my opinion.

and I repeat.... I don't care who commits election or voter fraud on either side.
It should be investigated and dealt with.

I have lived and voted in several states, and in every single one I have had to provide both my voters registration card AND valid state issued ID in order to vote. Assuming that is the "norm" then the only way voter fraud could actually occur is if the poll workers and / or local election officials were in on it.

Why dont we just use our DNA? Maybe we could give a retinal scan too!

OK, this is actually histerical! We do know that for the past 8 years the GOP has done everything it can to suppress democratic voter turn out. I can easily supply links. (We can also get into what occured in FL with the voter roster purging that Jeb Bush did against a court ordered injunction and nothing happened to him for it.)

But McCain crying wolf claiming that ACORN is a huge threat to democracy- when it is apparent that it was a small percentage of minimum wage employees that filled out false registrations. ACORN is required to send in ALL registration forms BY LAW. They did try to help though by picking out the suspicious one. SO, pretty much the ACORN thing is a distractions. And the GOP is once again the POT calling the kettle black

McCain Campaign Paid Republican Operative Accused of Voter Fraud

John McCain paid $175,000 of campaign money to a Republican operative accused of massive voter registration fraud in several states, it has emerged.
The documents show that a joint committee of the McCain-Palin campaign, the Republican National Committee and the California Republican Party, made the payment to Lincoln Strategy, of which Mr Sproul is the managing partner, for the purposes of "voter registration".
In October last year, the House Judiciary Committee wrote to the Attorney General requesting answers regarding a number of allegations against Mr Sproul's firm, then known as Sproul and Associates. It referred to evidence that ahead of the 2004 national elections, the firm trained staff only to register Republican voters and destroyed any other registration cards, citing affidavits from former staff members and investigations by television news programmes.

One former worker testified that "fooling people was key to the job" and that "canvassers were told to act as if they were non-partisan, to hide that they were working for the RNC, especially if approached by the media," according to the committee's letter. It also cited reports from public libraries across the country that the firm had asked to set up voter registration tables claiming it was working on behalf of the non-partisan group America Votes, though in fact no such link existed.

Such activities "clearly suppress votes and violate the law", wrote John Conyers, the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. The letter suggested that the Judiciary Department had failed to take sufficient action on the allegations because of the politicisation of the department under the then-attorney general, John Ashcroft.

That year, Mr Sproul's firm was paid $8,359,161 by the Republican Party, according to a 2005 article in the Baltimore Chronicle, which claimed that this was far more than what had been reported to the Federal Elections Commission.

So, why isnt this being covered again by the LIBERAL media? Why wasnt it covered when it originally came out? Why wasnt it prosecuted again? I mean if the GOP is so concerned with protecting deomcracy and all!

Not neccessary. Photo and Fingerprints are being used by Banks etc. already for Identification purposes. Nothing wrong with identifying voters that way. Dosen't everyone want to stop voter fraud on both sides? If not you should.
Lincoln Strategy does not do voter registrations. It is a Public Relations and Public Image firm for Politicians and others. McCain paid for help with public relations
and image enhancement not voter registrations.

**Update- 12/21/07**

I find that I was misinformed about Kathleen Dreamer's party affiliation. She is a Republican as can be found in this AP story. This is the first story I have seen that mentions the party affiliation specifically of Dreamer. An earlier story I saw misidentified both as Democrats.

HAH????
Every post, people on the right have made in here, has been against voter fraud on both sides of the coin. No one has stated, as far as I know, that it wasn't commited by both sides. But certainly, ACORN is the largest offenders ,in recent history.Whether the site posted is legit,I don't know, because when I copied it to my url, it said no such site exists. Even if true, it only enhances the dire need, to have proper identification to vote.
