I havent cried in awhile but wish I could..I am going through a break-up and feel horrible but the tears wont come, what a relief it would be if they would,Im so sad!!!!!

| When is the last time you cryed ? Why do we cry ? Posted: 1/11/2009 8:03:40 PM | I'm crying now. I cry for a multitude of reasons from physical pain to emotional. Lately I cry because even when entertained by friends or dates at the end of the day I still feel utterly alone and outcasted and that is frustrating. | |

| When is the last time you cryed ? Why do we cry ? Posted: 1/11/2009 10:07:08 PM | | The last time I cried was when my daughter and fiance told me my uncle had passed away. He had brain cancer and fought for three years. They were tears of great sadness and tears of great relief. I truly believe tears are a gift to cleanse the soul. They come when we need them the most. | |

Posted: 1/11/2009 11:39:39 PM | PADA, how silly and sad you feel you cant cry, just because..or you need a good reason..Thats BS and you know it..you're human, its a human condition to have feelings and emotions and be able to express them!! Actually I'm Underdog so it's not BS at all. There's a difference between having sad emotions and bawling your eyes out at every opportunity. A good reason to cry would be when someone close to you to dies. It's not a good reason to cry just because you're feeling blue. I've read somewhere that many women cry simply because it's a cloudy day. WTF?? Get a hold of yourselves. I've never said I don't feel sad at times ... but I don't cry simply because of sadness. I'm not an emotional basket case.
Feel the feelings and if they are sadness ,tears can be healing!! Ya know ... the words "healing" and "closure" make me wanna puke. In fact, give me a sec and I will. Unless you're physically ill, you don't need "healing" ... unless you're "under the knife", you don't need "closure". Who came up with such nauseously lame terms?? Must have been a woman ... in order to validate their need to cry.
I havent cried in awhile but wish I could..I am going through a break-up and feel horrible but the tears wont come, what a relief it would be if they would,Im so sad!!!!! Depending on the length of the relationship when it ended, I may or may not agree with you. Sometimes an end to a relationship may actually produce a feeling of much needed release from something poisoning your life. You should learn to see the positive aspects of such an ending.
I cry for a multitude of reasons from physical pain to emotional This is not a good reason to cry.
The last time I cried was when my daughter and fiance told me my uncle had passed away. He had brain cancer and fought for three years This would be a more justifiable reason to cry.

| When is the last time you cryed ? Why do we cry ? Posted: 1/12/2009 1:43:58 PM | Hmmm. I agree that the death of someone close is a justifiable reason for crying, but what about mourning the death of a long-term (11 year) relationship and/or the loss of your children & family, for reasons beyond your control? In some ways it could be said to be worse than mourning, because she's still around, happy in someone else's arms.
I've never particularly been one for shedding tears, but there was a point six months ago where I cried for several hours each day, and even now I still break down two or three times a week (last time was yesterday), when a particular song comes on or when there's a love scene on TV, or even when I'm just cooking and thinking of nothing. It's not something I have any control over, and yes it is a short term release, but in the long term, doesn't help me feel any better. And personally I'll always do it alone out of choice, partly because I've seen how ugly folks are when they cry .
Everyone has different emotional levels, depending on their hormones and circumstances. It seems a trifle unsympathetic to belittle or attack someone for sobbing, even if it was over something seemingly trivial from your/my point of view.

| When is the last time you cryed ? Why do we cry ? Posted: 1/12/2009 5:26:00 PM | OP--That's not weakness. Dishonesty is weakness, silly.
Theory of the hour: anger can be power. Emotions are not a sign of weakness.
My dog was killed right before christmas by a vehicle. That was the first time I had cried in a long time. I bawled my eyes out! I am still really sad about that because she (my dog) was my best friend in the whole world... everybody else just wants to move on and forget about her because everybody definitely misses her. It's just that I really can't handle it too well and I need someone to talk to about it.
It's not a weakness. In fact, it can be a bonding agent between two people. I consider that a catalyst for building strong relationships.

| When is the last time you cryed ? Why do we cry ? Posted: 1/13/2009 3:22:14 AM | I cry a couple times a week, I enjoy it... As weird as that sounds. It helps with the stress and instantly makes me feel better. Today I cried thinking about how I'm hanging out with an ex boyfriend tomorrow. We dated yeaaaaaaars ago and I didnt cry because I miss him, I cried thinking about how things change so much and wondering if it'll take as long to get over my most recent ex.
I'm an extremely emotional person, I tend to hide it because I find it can make you feel vulnerable in certain situations... So I suppose relationship wise it could be a weakness. But you won't see it as that when you find someone worthwhile.

| When is the last time you cryed ? Why do we cry ? Posted: 1/13/2009 3:26:17 AM | Ps; How does crying just to cry make you an emotional basket case? Hah. Sometimes I cry for no reason at all, or watch sad things just to cry. It feels amazing. :p You're silly. | |
|
| When is the last time you cryed ? Why do we cry ? Posted: 1/13/2009 4:12:41 AM | | i agree with sky, crying doesn't make you weak. I'm a guy and I really don't cry, but everyone ticks differently and its just plain ignorant to say "I don't cry when ____ happens so its wrong for someone else to cry when _____ happens." I actually cried for the first time in....hell...ten years when me and my gf broke up a month ago. I cried because my life was changing in a way that I couldn't control. You can control pain, you can control many aspects of stress, its when I can't control the situation and I can't think of a way to make it "okay" that I personally seem to have a chance of crying. I cried because crying is a release for ones conscience when it gets too overloaded by stress. Crying is innately human response to something (only humans and some scientists believe possibly some other primates actually cry). Some people are affected differently by each type of stress and some people just tend to luck out and not get a lot of stress. So...if you need to cry..just let it flow and feel better :) | |

| When is the last time you cryed ? Why do we cry ? Posted: 1/13/2009 7:11:09 PM | How does crying just to cry make you an emotional basket case? I believe you've already answered your own question with the following statements ...
I'm an extremely emotional person
crying just to cry
Sometimes I cry for no reason at all Since crying is an emotion ... excessive amounts of it (especially for no reason at all) would make you an emotional basket case. Does that clear things up for you??
It feels amazing :p You're silly Sounds to me like you get high from crying. And I'm silly?? Oh brother.
|
| When is the last time you cryed ? Why do we cry ? Posted: 1/13/2009 9:06:06 PM | Haha, I suppose.. Whatever you say.
I guess I have a different definition of the term emotional basket case. I enjoy crying, I don't cry over everything that goes wrong. I control it most of the time. When I said somtimes I cry for no reason at all, I didn't mean out of no where. That then would make me an emotional basket case. I thought I kind of said that in context, I'll watch things to make myself because it feels good getting it all out.

| When is the last time you cryed ? Why do we cry ? Posted: 1/13/2009 9:50:42 PM | ^^^^^Enjoy crying??? That's the first time I've ever heard anyone say that. Are you sure crying hasn't become like a drug to you ... since it feels so good to cry. Personally, I would rather enjoy a good laugh over a good cry ... but that's just me. | |
|
| When is the last time you cryed ? Why do we cry ? Posted: 1/14/2009 8:34:53 AM | Of course I'd rather laugh than cry but it's not as if i'm crying because my life sucks. It's a good cry! After a good sad movie..etc. I don't believe people who say they haven't cried for years... Its weird. Hahahahhaha although what i'm saying does kind of sound a little bit ridiculous, I'll admit that. | |

| When is the last time you cryed ? Why do we cry ? Posted: 1/14/2009 11:56:47 AM | I used to cry at the drop of a hat. It's really good and refreshing once you make it through. I feel like my problems can't be solved until it reaches the breaking point of crying and convulsing sometimes. It's as if the body has to let go and everything needs to be let out. I don't cry anymore. I think the last time was almost a year ago. I have tried many times and needed to. It scares me. I used to cry when I was overjoyed and oversaddened and angry. Sometimes I get close to crying, but I just can't. It's like I've turned to stone. I'm afraid I might break soon. I would like to have a good cry and wake up feeling human and released. | |

| When is the last time you cryed ? Why do we cry ? Posted: 1/15/2009 4:41:36 PM | I have been crying everyday for the past week. I'm a really emotional person, and I don't manage stress very well. Reasons for recent crying? Well I moved out of my moms house in December, and am now living with a friend. I moved without getting a job first, and now I am financially screwed, and am having a hell of a time finding a job. I also realized that I have a lot of feelings for a guy that I slept with. he isn't looking for a girlfriend, and was basically just out looking to get laid. So I feel kind of dumb and crappy about that. | |

| When is the last time you cryed ? Why do we cry ? Posted: 1/15/2009 5:17:26 PM | * Stuff that can makes me cry but not all the time...sad songs that I can resonate with, when someone moves far away. When people get hurt. 911. When someone else is crying explaining their pain. TV /movies can really get me going. Milestones of people who are close to me and sometimes my own. Seeing fundraising commercials on TV for children in other countries who live so poorly. I'm so lucky, fortunate and grateful and I thank GOD I'm an American. When someone hurts my feelings and it's way over the line, I'm stunned hasn't happened too often thank goodness.
*Stuff that makes me cry every time.... losing a loved one to death, breaking up with a BO. The animal protection commercials, there's a current one to arms of the angles. When a man cries, Guys don't cry too easily in my experience, when they do there's really something to cry about. A few times I unintentionally hurt someone's feelings made them cry, that made me cry. I want to make people laugh & feel joy not be sad and cry because of something I did or said.
*I think crying is just as good as laughing obviously something your body is telling you you need to do because you're sad or having some kind of negative overwhelming feelings. Real people cry when they're overwhelmed with feelings or sadness. Some people have bigger breaking points for crying and some don't , I'm somewhere in the middle. Others stuff it all together and that can't be good.
*Tears are feelings my heart can't express
*There's a time and a place to cry. When someone dies there are no boundaries I think. If you're feeling lonely probably better to do it when your alone. I've been told "never cry at work". Not that I've ever had a reason.
*The best kind of crying is when it's preceded by uncontrollable laughter.
*And yeah I've had times when I feel like nothing is going right, something is wrong with me, everything is a mess, I'm being pulled in 100 directions & want to cry. I think its my body and mind telling me "LOOK THIS ISN'T WORKING, WHATS WRONG?,CUT IT OUT!! It's the realization and the refresh button that I need a change in one, some or many fundamentals in my life at that time.

| When is the last time you cryed ? Why do we cry ? Posted: 1/15/2009 5:42:53 PM | Hope you can take comfort you're not alone with the job loss in the current economic climate. Yeah, not having a guy return feelings you have for them sucks too.
Can you move back in with your MOM for a little while or a good friend until you get back on your feet?
Can you think of any times where stuff has happened like this (not specifically) but the feelings. Now you look back you realize that the bad experience created changes that made you happy and more fulfilled in the long run?
You're meant to have a better job which you will have eventually. You'll find a great man that will return your feelings and then more and not just want to get in your pants. I haven't related to any woman who want that. They might pretend it doesn't bother them to protect their feelings, I think. But we're all different.
Hang in there!!!!! Be Strong!!! You're not ALONE!!!

Yeah I know, a lot of people are suffering right now. It really sucks.
not having a guy return feelings you have for them sucks too.
Yeah, especially since I lost my virginity to him. I don't know what I was thinking.
Can you move back in with your MOM for a little while or a good friend until you get back on your feet?
I signed a lease with my roommate. I am pretty much obligated to it for a year.
Thank you for the kind words. I hope a decent job comes around soon. And I will get over the jerk soon enough (or at least that is what everyone keeps telling me), and hopefully find a guy that can love me for who I am.
