| New Orleans Saints Posted: 10/25/2009 4:33:27 PM | The Saints are for real this season....I can't believe the comeback the Saints have done to the Dolphins and for a minute I thought the Dolphins were going to take it. I'm watching this game and the Saints offense is explosive!!!! Truly fast in all areas.
I'm looking too far ahead, but the Patriots got their hands full against this team.
|
| New Orleans Saints Posted: 10/25/2009 4:54:05 PM | | That or the dolphins just flat out imploded. I mean 24-3 in the 2nd and they somehow manage to completely blow that big lead in second half. They had all the momentum going for them. Saints are a superb team no doubt but there was really no excuse for the dolphins to completely implode like that in the second half after having such a big lead. | |
|
| New Orleans Saints Posted: 10/25/2009 5:14:44 PM | The Dolphins implode and the Saints explode. . First time we were down this season, but definately proved we could come back from a defecit. That makes us...um..... 6-0. . And dam Vikings. Grrrr. Had the game won. BS! | |
|
| New Orleans Saints Posted: 10/25/2009 5:24:45 PM | Woohoo! The Saints overcame adversity coming back from a typically unsurmountable lead. The defense stepped up big time in the second half...Scored a TD to cement the game. I was deflated during the first half, but I knew the Saints have Brees, and he can engineer points at will when he really needs to. The ability to come back from a large defecit is not historically the Saints MO. This year is different. I focking love it. | |

| New Orleans Saints Posted: 10/26/2009 5:18:19 AM | | I am sure you Saint fans were on edge in that game. Being down 17 points and trailing most of the game. Congrats for the win. I was surprised that Miami played so well. | |
|
| New Orleans Saints Posted: 10/26/2009 6:00:42 AM | I'm not sure if it was a match up issue, or if Spagnola exploited a perceived chink in the Saints O-line blocking scheme, but that was certainly the most pressure that Drew has faced all season! Good thing that they either ran out of gas in the second half, or our coaching staff made the necessary adjustments! And the Miami D-backs played much better than I expected and contested every catch they could get to, by swiping at the receivers hands just as or just after the ball arrived. And how about Ditka's folly running for three TDs and the longest run of his career.
There were two good challenges and two very poor reviews resulting in "the play stands as called" decisions. In the reply of the "catch" by Bess along the sidelines, you can clearly see the ball hit the ground, but the play stood. If the Saints coaches didn't block the camera on the frontal view of that play, I believe it would have been overturned. Then, good for us, they didn't overturn Sharper's TD, as that ball was out of his control before he crossed the goal line and went out of bounds through the end zone. I believe the correct call on that should have been ruled a touchback with Miami ball on the 20.
As I saw it, by the later part of the 2nd quarter, we had effectively shut down the wildcat with Vilma and Harper doing a very nice job pressing the action. Did anyone notice if Ellis ever made it back into the game after being carted off? I haven't checked the Saints website yet, but I'm sure an update will be available there.

they didn't overturn Sharper's TD, hmmm, I didn't get to watch the whole game, but Sharper has a third TD already this season? Wow, I don't know if I want a Brees jersey next or a Sharper jersey. (No literal pun intended)
