I am not a Vikings fan, but I agree. That conference final was a disgrace - at least half of the Saints' defense should have gotten ejected from the game for unsportsmanlike conduct. The Vikings (and ultimately Brett Favre) got robbed of what should have been their Super Bowl spot (and probably got robbed of their championship ring and their VL trophy). The previous game against the Cards was almost as bad. I am still mad at the league for not ejecting dirty players in either of those games and for not suspending players for the Vikes game.
As for the recent suspensions: Good for the Buccaneers. Maybe they will finally win a game or two within their division... | |

If Gooddell is going to retroactively fine players for hits, then he has to justify NOT fining other players for making the exact same hit. He has to fine and suspend when the hit happens. He's going to have to justify evey hit he wants to fine and explain why it wasn't a fine right after the game. | |

Players aren't allowed to bet on games, they aren't allowed to gamble, and they certainly shouldn't participate in a bounty scheme.
Goodell can not and will not fine players for dirty hits they made 2 seasons ago, but he can and should (and in my opinion: will) fine them for being part of (and in part: running) an illegal bounty scheme 2 years ago. Still I feel that the Saints should get stripped of their Super Bowl title (not that that will ever happen). | |

Your Saints only Superbowl win now has bounty written all over it and you cant take it. Maybe your coach would have been WISE TO NOT HIDE THE FACTS as Goodell was more pissed at the fact that he tried to lie about it..
Look on NFL.com for film of the shots by New Orleans players handed out that convinced RG to suspend your coach . Drew Brees would have gotten his explanation as to why his team got nailed so badly.

The size and speed of todays players is too dangerous. This is not about which teams have players who play violent but rather something thats been long overdue and has to be stopped.
I'm glad Goodell can see the light unlike the NHL which needs to do the same!! Fining players isnt going to stop anything if you have coaches backing it up.!!! | |

parcells should except peytons offer. I'm sure he's thinking right now, what would be better a superbowl win or possible hall of fame induction. everybody here probably has cable and already knows that if he does accept he will not be eligible for the hall for 5 years.

We need to decide whether Crabtree wants to be a fake (expletive) prima donna, or he wants to be a tough guy. We need to find it out.
He becomes human when we (expletive) take out that outside ACL.
We need to decide on how many times we can beat Frank Gore's head.
We need to decide how many times we can bull-rush, and we can (expletive) put Vernon Davis' ankles over the pile. | |

As repugnant as this speech is, that's all it is: a speech. Did anyone actually see the Saints players try to carry this out? I'm pretty sure if it had been caught on tape we'd have all seen it, ad nauseum, on ESPN and every news outlet. Sounds like most of the same crap players have been listening to since high school (if not before), and the same crap you could hear in any NFL locker room any week. Williams dooes take up up a level more than most. | |
