| Obama spells doom for America Posted: 11/24/2008 7:44:06 PM |
I don't know if the Democrats have the guts to stand up to the Corporations and the Wall Street pirates but George Bush and the Republicans sure didn't.
One thing that must be remember here...is that the congress is the purse strings of America and not one dollar is spent with out the now Democratic controlled congress..
I am against the bail outs...I say letem fall...New companies will have a chance to break through the monopoly and take up where the 'gamblers' left off...I say tuff on them...go down...
ALSO...remember this...the reason for this financial crisis is the DEMOCRATS went to fannie mae and Freddie Mac and forced them to loan to unqualified people in order to get these poor people and underqualified people TO VOTE FOR THEM...
And look whos paying the price...ALL OF US...THEY WERE PANDERING FOR VOTES..THOSE DEMOCRATS..
I believe that is why the Republicans threw the election..They didnt even try in my books...I believe this was done on purpose to make the Democrats have to wallow in their own mess..
Bush tried to get the democrates to do something a few years ago but they would not do anything..They were only focusing on winning this election...NARCISSISTS.
THE only thing Bush did wrong was by not getting on public television and telling us what was going on instead of keeping it within the political elite..If he had told us...we would have pressured our reps...

| Obama spells doom for America Posted: 11/24/2008 7:55:04 PM | I found this article....I do believe this Obama is a VERY dangerous character...
Finally some in the mainstream media is starting to question why our news agencies didnt report things more acuratlely such as bringing up and holding Obama's feet to the fire about his associations and what he really was planning for us...
I believe we are in for some terrible times....like martial law...fema camps....dark times are coming to us all...
Check this article out...pretty disturbing...especially after you google 'Martial Law ..Fema Camps"
America's ignorance of Obama 'disturbing' A former presidential candidate says a recent editorial in a leading business publication illustrates just how little the American voting public knows about president-elect Barack Obama.
Two months before the presidential election, Investors Business Daily (IBD) published an editorial entitled "Michelle's Boot Camps for Radicals." It revealed that Barack Obama was a founding member of the board of a publicly funded non-profit organization known as Public Allies, but he resigned when his wife Michelle became executive director of the Chicago chapter of Public Allies in 1993. The IBD editorial said the organization's mission is to radicalize American youth and use them to bring about "social change" through threats, pressure, tension, and confrontation. On its website, Public Allies said the IBD piece painted an inaccurate, distorted view of their work. But the editorial points out that during the presidential campaign, Obama said, "We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded" as the military. Gary Bauer, chairman of American Values, does not believe American voters did enough research on Obama before the election. "One of the things he has talked about is this universal voluntary public service corps. But there are some disturbing signs that this might be another one of these left-wing ideas that have motives behind it that are not entirely reassuring," he contends. Unfortunately, according to Bauer, the American media did not press Obama to answer questions about some of these questionable ideas and affiliations. "The result is that I think we had one of the most undereducated electorates in the history of our country partake in this election, not knowing the first thing about what the man who's now been elected president has on his agenda," he concludes.
I find this article EXTREMLY disturbing after hearing Obama talk about his "Civilian Security Force"....Hitler formed one of these types of civilian forces...They were called the SS....or the Brown shirts...SCAREY..
One should NEVER EVER vote unless they know exactly what they are voting for...In this country...its important to vote...BUT ONLY if you know what your doing..Now because of the votes of convicts....college kids who have been 'scared to death by (Al Gore..the biggest liar and terrorist of all) about the myth of global warming into voting for Obama...street people...uninformed people getting on the Obama Party wagon...now we are all going to pay...
To believe that its a 'good thing' to get out and vote is good..
But if you vote with no idea what you are doing or what your voting for...or just listening to only one side...rhetoric...propaganda...Thats a bad thing...
We are in for the ride of our lives...America may never be the same again...But maybe its salvageable if we will start thinking and voting with our minds and not our emotions.

| Obama spells doom for America Posted: 11/24/2008 8:39:52 PM |
BARACK OBAMA is a christian. How can you say he is destroying christianity? He is more a witness to christianity than most of those I see calling themselves christians but spreading hate and fear about the innocent.
Frankly I keep thinking Jesus is weeping listening to those who call themselves christians spreading such hate and intolerance. I keep thinking what a surprise there will be when the rapture comes and all those hate filled 'christians' are left standing there wondering what the hell happened.
Barak...a christian? Really? More a witness to christianity? Are you freaking kidding? The man went to a church for 20 years that spread hate and envy of whites...Didnt you ever watch the news lady? There is also something said for those whose head is in a 'happy' bubble...not listening to facts..but only happily running around in their fantasy emotions.
You mention Christians spreading hate and intolerance? Are you freaking kidding again? Maybe one who is morally bankrupt can feel the way you do...but some of us oppose the killing of unborn children..So tell me...who is intollerent..Could it be you who want to 'dispose' of an incovenient human? Or how about the folks who 'cannibalize' the child during birth...poke his spine with sissors then suck out his brain because in their 'view' of things...hes not human yet..Why do they do this? Because they are nothing short of cannibles...Living off the flesh of another..Who gives them that kind of authority?
You see madam...its all about perspective....
You call Christians 'intollerent'? Yet we have been bashed at every turn...called names..attacked...everything we have ALL enjoyed in this country such as Easter...Christmas...is being methodically taken apart by the truly intollerent and bigoted folks and has now been made to be an time of fighting instead of joy as it USED TO BE..Yet you in your infinate 'wisdom' accuse us of intollerance?
You see....its all about perspective...
There is no hate in Christians...we just dont agree with you...You forget one thing..we are taught that ALL PEOPLE are the children of God..and that none is seen in Gods eyes more favorably than another...Maybe youre the one that needs to study the facts a bit before you go calling good folks names and putting lables on them..
Anger: Did not Jesus get angry at the temple when the money changers were there? Why...because those people were being disrespectful to our Father in Heaven and his house....So whats the difference if we get mad at the sacrifice of Gods little children to the God of Baal? Is there really any difference? If you dont know who Baal was....study it...do your own research.
BUSHES FAULT... Ah ..here we go again..So now its Bushes fault that Iran Christians are being killed my Muslims...GGEESShh.
American children being taught the muslim faith in our schools....but not Christianity...the faith that made this nation the greatests nation...So..madam...we should not be alarmed about that? See..some people live in a fantasy world..Why would the school pick out the muslim faith to teach here in America..Doesnt that hit you as odd at all? La La La...La La La...Everything is beautiful!!! LMAO
So tell me....This nation has a history of its own....Many of us who were raised here enjoy our heritage...but it is being methodically taken away from us and replaced with 'globalism'...Sorry..I respect the worlds citizens...but I rather fancy having my own heritage too....and yes...I do get pretty mad when others have come into a 'new' way of thinking and start shoving their anti American crap on the innocent children...Yes...madam...that really does make me mad..Who gave those people permission to change things...No one...Its being shoved down our throats..
I do not want to be a "world citizen social experiment" with my home...namely America..I think we are heading down a very dangerous road..
the financial crisis that rang all across the world like falling dominos should be the wake up call to you 'globalist' that the 'one world government' will not work but will only be the source of misery and pain for everyone eventually...
Think with your intellect and your wisdom and not with your emotions..

| Obama spells doom for America Posted: 11/25/2008 4:08:03 PM | Regarding a few points made in previous posts.
Regarding [the Republicans throwing the election]: The thought that a politician would voluntarily give up power...ludicrous. I would expand on that, but it would seem to be redundant.
Regarding [Christians spreading hate]: Christians are people. There is hate in people and as such there is hate in Christians. White supremacists are Christians. The crusaders of the middle ages that killed millions of heathens were Christians. The people of the Red Cross that save lives are Christians as are Peace Corps and Missionaries that do many humanitarian things. Thinking that all people of a group fit one mold doesn't work. There are many horrific and fantastic things done in the name of Christianity. I will have to say though, that there are a VERY large portion of people within Christianity that pick and choose when and where to exhibit their "tolerance" of others, which, and I may be misinterpreting, is one of the staples of Christianity. Oh my, this is not a religion thread and I don't think there is enough room for me to keep on until I'm done so...
Regarding: Who gave "those people" permission to change things? You did. You voted. They are elected officials. And by the way, "those people" are we the people. Does everyone forget the "the government" is nothing more than a bunch of people? It's like everyone talks about this alien being that runs everything and acts contrary to what everyone wants. We are the people that run for office. We elect the people that run for office. We all know a LOT of people in "the government". If you don't like the way things are going, use your voice, use your vote, or better yet, put ass out there and run for office and change something. Oft quoted definition of democracy: Government of the people, by the people, for the people.

| Obama spells doom for America Posted: 11/27/2008 7:10:09 PM | Many people who have posted on here do not have a clue what they are talking about get the facts if you are going to sound off
President Elect Obama has done more since he has been elected than Bush did his entire time in the big house
You all will be eating your words, but most people are afraid to stand on their own 2 feet and make adequate and appropriate statements because you are all paddling around in your rubber boat out in the middle of life being like everyone else. YOU ARE AFRAID TO STEP UP TO THE CHALLENGES IN YOUR OWN LIFE SO YOU HAVE TO DOWNGRADE OTHER PEOPLE - IT WAS A GREAT DAY FOR THIS COUNTRY WHEN OBAMA WAS ELECTED

| Obama spells doom for America Posted: 12/7/2008 8:45:33 PM | Well, looking from the outside in (I am in Australia) and I have been following this election from the very beginning, I personally have noticed a change in demeanour from Obama Sin Laden (oops, sorry, politically incorrect). He started off being a very humble, self-deprecating person, but now I see him as being arrogant and intolerant. And the very fact that he is the President of the free-world means that his actions have a great roll-on effect to the rest of us (we are your no 3 ally.......woohoo........ that's why Bali happened). This recession you are having (and the majority of the rest of the world too) should have been nipped in the bud 7 years ago by Bush, but instead he HAD to have his wars and spend more than the world as a whole makes, to fund his insatiable need to spill the blood of your young people, instead of taking care of business at home. I was over there 5 years ago and even as an outsider (one who incidentally is not on the list of preferred immigrants.... I checked) could see that mortgages was going to be the first big issue, and now it's just all completely gone to crap. Minorities are always going to get heard first (cos of the squeaky wheel syndrome) and middle America is completely unheard, therefore ignored when the time comes to hand out the big bucks. Since this thread started, the 3 big US car manufacturers have all gone to hell in a handbasket and are demanding God knows how many billions to bail them out, banks have shut down their lending to MIDDLE America and the economy is in serious decline. So is ours, thank you Mr. Bush, but just maybe we might be able to fight off a full-fledged recession because we also have had a change in Government and our new Prime Minister is not going to lick the boots of your President as our previous one did. I love America and it's people, but I am afraid that you guys are in for a very rough time. I always wanted to live in America, but not so sure now. It's hard to find a REAL American, the patriotic people I fell in love with 20 years ago, the bend-over backwards to help your fellow man kind, the non-confrontational accepting people. It's the same here, we have been overrun by immigrants (sorry politically incorrect again) who are trying to alter our basic culture, not even trying to conform to any of our standards, demanding that they be heard above 'us'. Sorry, get off my soapbox now, I just feel for you guys, it's hard to have a voice here and we only have 20 million people. | |

| Obama spells doom for America Posted: 12/8/2008 1:48:06 AM | I can see where you're coming from. I've seen a few posts not necessarily in this thread, but just around the forums(and rest of the world) that give off the vibe that Obama is going to work miracles for those that make under 200,000 or more a year. I'm not a fan of McCain at all, but I'm just going to play devil's advocate right now. Obama is working for Universal Health Insurance. Where do you think all that money is going to come from? Big corporations aren't going to deal with the heavy taxings. What will happen when they get sick and decide to leave the U.S.? Or if they do decide to take the tax hits, they will pass these costs down to the customers, which are the smaller businesses and everyone else that's not making 200K a year(I've seen this sort of thing happen before in other states, the government mentions a tax proposal and many large companies threaten to pack up and leave the state, which makes the government back down, but that's state, not federal.) Rich people will not be forced to pay more because they already have so many tax shelters and off-shore bank accounts.
In life, nothing is free, and anyone thinks so is just simply doing that...wishful thinking at best. The taxes will affect people who are in the lower-middle class, under 200,000. All politicians, from every part, make promises that they cannot keep. Government services simply don't come without a cost and someone has to pay eventually. The rich have MUCH more clout by virtue of money. Corruption in the government is undeniable and the rich people who are at this point, scheduled to pay more taxes, are going to somehow snake their way out of most of them with a few string pulls here and there. They can bribe and pay their way into or out of anything. Smaller businesses just don't have this type of power and leeway.
Just think about this for a second...say you make 20-50 thousand a year, and as promise by Obama(if you believe all the promises he makes) you won't face any sort of income tax increase. If your job doesn't cover your insurance, you get some sort of government paid reduction in your premium so you can buy insurance. Sounds perfect...but wait, so the very rich have tax shelters, the big corporations will eventually sell out and go overseas(in addition ,taking a bulk of American jobs down to the ground) and very little money is generated from taxing the "well off", the people scoring 200K or more a year. Okay, so then how will the government get the money to pay for these tax breaks and programs? Regressive taxation. Most people here probably drive a car. I'm guessing that your cars run on mostly, if not entirely, gasoline. Judging by the present global warming hysteria, now would be the ideal time for a huge increased, tax on gas. As of now at this moment, there are no mass produced electric cars that live up to their so called potential. But the politicians(and green house people) say let's not only make some money but force people completely out of their gas eating automobiles, despite the fact that there are no real alternative anti-gas running cars. Gas is at 2 or 3 dollars right now, but it's most likely going to increase because not only are there diminishing oil supplies and troubles in the mid-east(all constant factors since the 70's) , but the government will also be pounding up the prices with taxes. As you have seen, in the recent months and years, oil along with everything, clothes, food, all become more expensive. Regressive taxes(also, sale taxes though these are state and not the fed responsibility) will affect everyone, and it seems the lower you are on the income scale, the harder you will get hit, contrary to popular opinion. A person making 300K a year will be able to fill his 8mpg Hummer tank without any sort of worries. A couple few hundred dollars isn't going to phase him, but for those that drive 4 cylinders and are already on tight budgets, will be the ones in trouble. Gas prices will really bite into tight and already stingy budgets and even the most fuel conservative vehicles still require fuel.
Obama doesn't have a magic wand, no politician does. To expect all these extravagant promises isn't going to happen without costs is naive. Obama's income tax reforms will help out in the beginning but the huge regressive tax increases will negate any sort of money scrounged up from the former. But that's just my jumping on the other side of the fence. I'm not a McCain fan, and I think the country would be better off without having Palin one heartbeat away from the presidency, but those that think Obama or any other politician can fix up everything with the snap of a finger are just holding their breaths. I prefer Obama to McCain but I'm not delusional when it comes to what is or isn't realistic. It's great to be hopeful and optimistic but raising taxes on only certain portions of the public during such stressful economic times is not a wise move. The tax increases on the rich will produce a ripple effect, that will leave those working under scathed and harmed. Small businesses will get hit unless they are lucky enough to head south of the border. A lot will go under but not everything can perfect and fair. We'll just have to see how things turn out in the next few years. Hopefully I'll stand corrected.

| Obama spells doom for America Posted: 12/16/2008 5:40:49 PM | Truer word are seldom spoken...the sad part is we try to cover our racism with "so-called" intelligent debate! OBama isn't a Saviour for America...as the sarcastic like to say. But he will be good for America. But those bashing him, will demand change immediately, although it took us 8 years to get to where we are today.
He has said things will get worse before they get better. And they will. Sometimes when a building is damaged in a hurricane (I just moved here from Florida), it's better to start at the foundation and rebuild...that to try and repair the damage!! JMO

| Obama spells doom for America Posted: 12/21/2008 2:08:22 AM | To the OP, You might want to go in for a checkup, your sounding an awful lot like a paranoid schizophrenic. /end bashing
Seriously, this level of hatred and misinformation being spread around is incredibly scary. It is a sad day when "politics" consist of nothing more then trying to demonize the other party. Democracy only works with an informed public and we have allowed the election process to deteriorate into something slightly more sophisticated then a "your momma" fight.

| Obama spells doom for America Posted: 12/29/2008 4:55:44 AM | | Um sweet and huggy, I hate to break it to you, but President elect Obama has NOT done anything yet but say "yes we Can " and other uplifting things, for he has NOT taken office yet! I do hope he manages his task at hand well, for he will be carrying the burden of an entire nation on his shoulders. I wish him luck. | |

| Obama spells doom for America Posted: 12/29/2008 5:46:52 AM | | If that is all you got from reading these posts , I feel you should read them again! Another thing racism is often a misused term. The term I think your looking for is bigotry.I do not have a dictionary handy , but I do believe the proper definition of racism is one race exploiting another race for personal, finantual ,or selfish gains. And one last thing that really vexes me, from what I see alot of people have it in their minds that only caucasions are capable of being racists. This is NOT the case! Persons of all races are perfectly capable of being racists too. The very concept that only one race has the market cornered on hate ...............well wouldn't that be racist as well? Think about it.............. and have a great day. | |

| Obama spells doom for America Posted: 12/29/2008 9:16:41 AM | I think Oboma is doing every thing poosible to get the economy going just as FDR did in the 30's and will be successful. However, all this spending will lead to destruction of this country. It does not matter if it is a republican or democrate. We can't just keep on spending and raising taxes.

| Obama spells doom for America Posted: 1/3/2009 8:33:00 AM | What a terrifying series of posts. I was comforted to see that most of the fearful live in Southern Nevada, but I wonder...how are you functioning since Art Bell left? There are a few posters with more balanced and reasonable posts, so it's nice to read that some sanity still exists.
We are just coming out of 8 years of total destruction, headed by a man who claimed, "God speaks through me." Bush did some good, but it's overshadowed by a war that wasn't for 9/11 and is sucking the life out of the entire nation. The economy blew apart on his watch, yet he came to office with a budget that was balanced. We are basically owned by China and Russia and our grandchildren will still be paying those debts - if we exist by then.
The whining about possible raises in taxes is almost sad. America, historically, has stepped up to the plate and either served or paid increases in taxes in order to make this country work. My ancestors have fought in every conflict of America, and have dug deep to help her build...and rebuild.
Americans were "asleep at the wheel" and permitted Bush to run us into the ground. We don't know the half of it yet, as he went around Congress for special funding. I suspect PE Obama will be facing more of a nightmare than any of us can imagine.
We've been manipulated by fear for 7 years. Apparently, after reading some of these posts, many are still knee-jerking to fear rather than trying to actually do anything. To be so against a man who hasn't even taken office yet is rather telling. I guess some don't want us to heal, but find more satisfaction in fanning flames of hatred.
Stop and consider: The fight for equal rights began over 40 years ago. It has taken us that long to start to grow up. I don't see Obama as Black - I see him as an educated man who maybe...just maybe....will find solutions. He's not entrenched like the old guard, has less ties and commitments to lobbyists and other politicians, and brings a new pair of eyes to an old game.
Maybe he won't work magic, but I've no doubt he will use that intellect and education to find those solutions we desperately need. Another point: Because he is the first Black to hold such a high office, don't you think he will be doing his damndest? To do anything else would set Blacks and others of color back 100 years. His burdens are many.
For those professing to be Christians, you've blasphemed the very essence of the messages of Christ. Serving your faith means that you pray FOR healing rather than causing divisions.

| Obama spells doom for America Posted: 1/11/2009 11:54:25 AM | He is talking about a tax cut for 95% of working people....That means you must make under $55 k a year. According to the IRS only 5% of working people gross over $55,000 a year. I fall into the 5% so my taxes are going up.
I made out a new W4 at work and increased my exemptions. I am ready for the tax increase and have cut back on spending and saving more money. I already see gasoline going up...Up 20 cents in the last 2 weeks.

The people that will benefit are the people on welfare that know how to work the system and the rich. People like me that work hard, pay taxes, and when something goes wrong financially no one will help us. Do you guys honestly believe that Obama is going to bail the average joe out
uh, unlike George Bush and his "conservatives" that will give out US$ 700 billion plus, to bail out the fat-cat greed-heads of Wall Street?
who "Took big risks" and reaped big profits while they were there..but wouldn't take the downside..let the taxpayer do that..

Has anyone noticed the well hidden issue in the Detroit bail out? No strikes by UAW employees, or the loans will be called. Employees must take decreased salaries (no mention of management) to be in line with foreign car companies in the US.

| Obama spells doom for America Posted: 1/15/2009 3:40:42 PM | I dont think Obama spells anymore DOOM, for America, than McCain,...both represented just "More of The Shame", as far as Politics goes,.....
Do I think Obama is a "Christian" ??? NO !
Do I think Obamas Church followed the Holy Bible's teachings ??? NO !
Do I thnk under Obama's leadership, that America is suddenly gonna change ??? NO !
Come on People,....use your head,...and look at the effect of past Politics,..past Admistrations, and look at where that direction has landed us.....
Can we boost the Economy, by raising Taxes ??? NO !
Can we boost the Economy by "Increased Government Spending"? NO!
Only when we start streamlining Govt' Spending, and start giving TAX breaks,..is there ever any stimulation on our Nations Economy..........
Dont Blame BUSH, Dont Blame Obama,
Their just Politicians, doing what Politicians do,........ Its just more "Business as Useual"
Blame Yourself,..for allowing this too happen....... YOU,.....and these so called "Rich Fat Cats",..that profit from the working mans Labor, and off our TAXES,....are too smug,....too Happy,....too Compliant,..

When will you people learn, and Understand,...thats its Congress, that runs, and rules this County,..and is responciable for the mess were in ?
Demand, that Congress,..start running this Country,...for "We The People",... instead of being in the Pockets of Big Cooperations, and Big Business, and Big Oil.

| Obama spells doom for America Posted: 1/20/2009 6:56:37 AM | In a few hours from this post, Barack Obama will have sworn in as the new President of the USA. I am excited and amazed that a 1/2 African 1/2 American, or 1/2 Black 1/2 Caucasian, is going to be the President. I never thought a Black man would be President this soon in my life. I'm happy to see it happen. I didn't think he was going to win the Democratic nomination, much less the Presidency, after he was nominated.
I am a Democrat. Whether I'm a far left or moderate liberal is unknown. My voting record for the last 3 Presidential elections has been Gore/Lieberman, Kerry/Edwards, and Obama/Biden. During caucus season, I cast my vote for Hillary Clinton. I preferred Clinton over Obama simply because I was spoiled growing up during Bill Clinton's 2 terms. Bill Clinton in 1993, inherited a country in a recession, a couple years out of the Gulf War.
Racial tensions were at an all time high following the 1992 LA Riots. Bill Clinton in his first term, managed a huge national recovery. By the time he was sworn in for his 2nd term in 1997, the nation was on the rise. At the end of Clinton's 2nd term, he left the incoming President a budget surplus over a trillion, not billions, over a trillion dollars. Racial tensions were somewhat calm. The average Joe had money in his pocket, the bank, a good job, and a good home.
In 2001, after brother Jeb Bush's help in Florida, the 2nd coming of Bush took office. I just enlisted in the United States Army, and completed Airborne training at Fort Benning. One day while at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, I was called into an Alert Formation. These usually happen either to prepare for War or when the Commander in Chief announces that this country declares war. I'll never forget that day. My company commander calls us to attention..."I am sad to say that America was bombed today. We have been attacked. While you were on duty, 2 planes crashed into the World Trade Center, and it is believed by our intelligence that it was a terrorist act. The Commander in Chief has declared War on those responsible."
In the next 2 weeks, I'm issued Desert BDU's. Desert Battle Dress Uniforms. The khaki camouflage. I take a picture. I get 12 vaccinations. Then I'm given a date to deploy. I take a little trip via B-52 Bomber to an undisclosed location near Afghanistan. My fellow paratroopers and rangers are singing..."C-130 rolling down the strip. Airborne daddy on a 1 way trip. Mission top secret, destination unknown. I don't even know if I'm coming home." That is a routine marching cadence. However, it had a little more significance this trip. After 9 months in Afghanistan, no finding Bin Laden.
Bush calls the Afghanistan war Operation: Enduring Freedom. May 2003, he starts another war with Iraq. He calls this Operation: Iraqi Freedom. The country from that point began to feel more conservative. Police were harassing minorities in my community at a higher level. 2008, Gas became unbearably expensive. Banks closed or were bought out by a competitor to stay afloat. In my local area, I started hearing stories about families losing their homes. Men and women losing their jobs. Medical and credit bills piling up because they can't afford to pay their bills over eating and gas. Those making over $35,000/year, struggling, but still surviving. Those making $75,000+/year, still not as worried as the poverty, lower and upper middle class.
Barack Obama wins the Democratic nomination. I was disappointed. I wanted Clinton to be the first woman President. Not because she's a woman, but because she pushed Universal Health Care, like Canada already has. Barack Obama did not support Universal Health Care. He supported affordable health care for those who work. There was a difference during the debates. Now, we have Obama as President-Elect. He chose Hillary as Secretary of State. A high position, but not the Presidency, and not a sure thing that Obama will turn Bush's son's mistakes around, much like the previous Clinton, Bill, turned daddy Bush's mistakes into a surplus, and the most prosperous economy in the country's history.
I would feel better if Hillary won. Now that Obama has, watching him assemble a team of Democrats that were all staff or cabinet in one way or another for Bill Clinton, it makes things a little more interesting, and allows a little hope to flourish. Obama has no ties to Islam or Radical Islamic nations. I disagree with his pro-Choice, and his support for gay marriage, and the recognition of a homosexual couple as a union allowing them to receive benefits similar to married couples. I figure one has to do what one has to do to get elected. Those brought in substantial votes in his landslide victory.
Today really, I can only be happy a Black man is going to be recognized as the President of the United States of America. Am I confident in Obama? Hell no. Is he a symbol for minorities? Yes, much like Martin Luther King was. I would hope Obama nixes the Bush tax cuts for the richest 1% in America. I hope tax cuts for those making less than $150,000/year are approved. I hope a system of Universal Health Care is instituted ASAP. I would also hope the nation's unemployment rate drops from over 7% to below 2% in Obama's first term. Spread the wealth. Let the average Joe have a chicken in every pot, a car in every garage, a warm bed for sally and jimmy. Lastly, don't let gas prices go over $2/gallon. Gas was always cheap during Clinton's 2 terms.
If Obama succeeds in the issues I'm sharing optimism about with you, America will change for the better, and then, as Rome goes, so goes the Globe. The Global Economy will benefit from the average Joe in America having a good job, 2 incomes in the household, spending in the markets, spending in the economy, taking numerous vacations throughout the year. The true power of America is in the Middle Class. It's the working class. It takes their spending to make an automaker stay afloat. It takes their spending to pay mortgages on time. The richest 1% stand to gain from the Upper Middle Class, Middle Class, Lower Middle Class, and Poverty Class prospering.
These 4 classes, The Upper Middle Class($75,000+/year), Middle Class($50,000+/year), Lower Middle Class($25,000+/year), and Poverty Class(less than $25,000/year), are generally the spenders that patronize large corporations and small businesses. They establish indebtedness to the richest 1% in some way also. What better way for the richest 1% to experience a change for the better from the economy than to be stimulated by a working class that can pay their bills. No bankruptcies, foreclosures = no going out of business, bank closures, market fallout.
To say it one last time, Spread the Wealth, has and always will be better than Reaganomics, The Trickle Down Theory. FDR rebuilt a nation from The Great Depression with Spread the Wealth. Reagan turned this country into a capitalist cesspool, with an inflated dollar, with Reagonomics. As you can see, Bush employed Reagonomics, and The Trickle Down Theory. I am unemployed, separated, and facing a felony conviction. Sadly, before whatever Bush set to trickle down, trickles down, I will be doing time for the State of Nevada. I'm a prime example of a minority that was decently educated, gainfully employed, hard working, paid my bills on time, paid my taxes, obeyed the law, not on welfare. But for whatever reason, I've watched the American Dream slip away during Bush's reign as Dictator. That is my example of what really trickles down when the richest 1% and the Middle Class have such a large deficit between the 2.
Today, I'm going to watch Obama get sworn in. If he puts his hand on Lincoln's Bible, great. If he doesn't, oh well. But atleast I know in the next 4 years, the quality of my life is going to be better, and any job I go and put an honest day's work in at, I'm going to be able to afford gas, a car, a place to stay, and have some money to take my kids out for some ice cream. Thank you for reading.
