Just about every bakery shop in the Houston area has kolaches. They're Czech pastries, ordinarily filled with fruit, vegetables, and/or meat. I don't know why, but they seem to be clustered around Texas.

I meant Baja Fresh. Whoops. They're similar to Chipotle, but their menu has more options.

I remember that. They were everywhere when I lived in Dallas. I moved up to Portland, Oregon and no one knows what the f*ck I'm talking about even though the Czech population up here isn't exactly small. It doesn't make any sense.

| Favorite fast food place and what's best to eat Posted: 11/13/2008 9:14:47 PM | Taco Bell - bean burrito, fresco style, plus guac. Subway- Veggie (either wrap or bread), no cheese, + lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, light pickles, extra black olives, salt, pepper, honey mustard, and mayo.
Does pizza count as fast food? I vote yes. Ok, I win. Hungry Howie's- thin crust, no cheese, extra sauce, green olives, pineapple, with cajun seasoning on the crust.
Calling ahead for sushi would make it fast food, AMIRITE? ok, yes. futomaki rolls minus egg, or cucumber & avocado rolls, or crunchy tofu rolls. Extra wasabi.
Food is the best. Whoever invented it should get a pat on the back.

No? Good...Don't. They suck. When they first opened up here they were "okay". In the past year it became a rarity - like one out of three visits to get actual fresh-cooked food. And they won't cook anything fresh within an hour or so of closing unless it gets suddenly busy - so most of what you end up with is mummified. Veggies you can use as nails and meat that's lost all moisture so you can see daylight through it like the greased paper the pioneers used as windows! Seriously.
Muchas Gracias isn't too bad for more authentic Mexican food than Taco Hell. Cheaper, better tasting and healthier than TB - which isn't saying that much, mind you. Long as you don't get the mystery gristle surprise in yours.

The Mash House does healthy(ish) fresh mash, pie and gravy in so many flavours, I dont think they do take out, but I've queued for longer in a chippy than it ever took me to be served here. The real burger company is pretty nice too!

| Favorite fast food place and what's best to eat Posted: 11/16/2008 11:33:09 AM | | I'm not sure if this is considered fast food or not -- but the rotisserie chicken that's already cooked and hot from the grocery store is awesome. Pick up potato salad, a twice baked potato, cole slaw, creamy cucumbers or any of the other things they have in their deli. Done, hot -- and almost home cooked. The left over chicken also makes awesome chicken salad for lunch. | |

I like the curries and the Thai selections, and salad. Ours has fresh made rice krispie marshmallow bars that we split up for dessert.

My favorite fast food place? Overall? Probably Taco Bueno since just about anything on the menu would please me. I especially like the muchacos and the rice. Their rice is better than all of the more expensive mexican place I've eaten!
