" seems like a nice medium post
full bodied, rich with content, easy to absorb, not too long
solid and to the point"

Actually a long post can be just as "easy to absorb", it's all about the delivery.

Shouldn't the minimum size of posts be something that is uniform amongst ALL posters?

The first 72 Hours and 30 Days restrict your Posting as follows »» Forum Posting Requirements

Certain other Forum Categories as follows »» Forums: 2 Posts in last 10 Posts

This is a Forum, and to combat Chat, undecipherable nonsensical Content, and anything else that resembles a Patient who might have busted out of his "Free Association" Session before his Time was up, may have their minimum Character Post Count restricted to a minimum of 100 - 300. If you have been busted for Chat a couple of Times, usually you will be required to make Posts that have at least 200 Characters. Its assumed that if you have nothing to say, don't post. The local Forums are far more relaxed along this Line than the Global ones, but the same Principles still apply.

I see that Ticketoride has recently been outdoing me in the long-winded category

I don't think long or short has much to do with anything. Sometimes I find a Post with a few Lines is appropriate for a good Response, other Times many Posters are replied to depending what I feel I wish to say about it.

can't we just have the readers digest version?

I requested Years ago to limit that down to 3,000, but was nixed by the Admin. For the Local Forums, 8,000 is a little over the top.

Actually a long post can be just as "easy to absorb", it's all about the delivery.

Good Way to put it ...

Thought you gonna run me around the Bend again and make my Life difficult ...

Good you brought up this Point though, since Characters can be assigned limited Characters with multiple Characters ... aka Personalities, which often assists the Poster to bring out the "True" Character inside.

With a Restriction of 5 Characters per Character Personality, characteristically it could be characterized that all Personalities, regardless of Character, would cumulatively be allotted 1,000 Characters.

However since less than 40 different Personalities are actually involved formulating any given Post, you should be good up to 8,000 ... lol

If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were describing me here. Actually I'm not that solid. Have a few squishy parts that makes the snuggling experience more cushy. Woohoo!

I have never been "busted for chat" although I see many others that should be according to forum rules, not that it makes any sense because forums are for chatting after all. Will never quite understand that one.

Ticket, thanks for fixing my posting problem. Now I have no excuse to be long-winded & must learn to be more concise & to the point. Actually I should just get back to work.

And sometimes frustrated by the misunderstandings or misinterpretations....

:::..I know you believe you understand what you think I said,
but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant¨::::

Right??

And BTW can someone explain to this newbie how to make those amazing boxes around the quotes we want to respond to? And, and and also how to bold letters...I feel so handicapped without alternatives!

^^^ Follow the instructions right above that whole whack of emoticons on the page where you reply to a post. Enter the text of the quote where it says "This allows you to quote a previous post" then type in the words 'quote' in brackets before & after your text. But remember to add that slash to your end quote.

You bold text the same way except instead of typing in the word 'quote', you just type in the letter B in brackets. It took me a while to figure that one out too & the instructions just went over my head.

{quote)this allows you to quote a previous post{quote}

It did not work, ticket keeps trying to help me with this, I must be as dumb as a fence post.

Now substitute Brackets for the the Parenthesis, and a right-slash on the last one like:

[ quote ] Written Stuff being quoted [ /quote ]

^^^ just make sure there are no "blank" Spaces at all / Ticketoride

You still have spaces between the Brackets and the Text.

Try lower Case »» b

Wildman ... the Backslash ... ie this one »» / missing in front the last /quote

You just created 2 Blockquotes inadvertantly by not having a Backslash »» on the second /quote.

The first quote doesn't have one, the last one does. Carefully re-read Instructions again and do it 100% exact, no Changes, no Spaces.

[/unquote]

No such Reptilian. Remove »» un

ok NOT - why is everything in the quote box?

Whatever Text is between the (2) Two Blockquotes will show.

Only put Text in between what your are quoting, but your response is separate and not part of the Blockquote, but goes underneath it.

Holy crap..talk about highjacking threads!
Isn't all this wonderful self help stuff that could have been done/explained in emails betwixt the parties?

Thanks for your input Tyeee but it really has nothing to do with what the author started out with.

too educational!
The forums are meant to be entertaining and thought provoking, not EDUCATIONAL computer tutorials.....I remember back in the 'day', a certain mod would have hammered us with the thread link and a stern warning, is it true that some get mellower with age? I think I just saw a pig fly

whoops! wrong thread......'old something' I think I'm supposed to have posted in?

VVV that's better..... I missed the old 'mod' but "know better"..nah, I'm just old and forgot!
Plentyoffish Site/Suggestions/Help seems to be the 'forum' for this tutorial ?

it really has nothing to do with what the author started out with.

A little more pertinent than ...

"Is it kind of like the long fingers analogy ? Does the length of ones post equate to the length of anything else is particular?"

Thread Title with Posting in the forums.... ... I'll let it go ... at least some good comes out of it.

The forums are meant to be entertaining and thought provoking, not EDUCATIONAL computer tutorials.....

Not so. Look up what a Topic is, after a few Years you should know by now.

I remember back in the 'day', a certain mod would have hammered us with the thread link and a stern warning, is it true that some get mellower with age?

Still the same for Chatter and other Mindless Drivel nothing to do with the Topic.
