Posted: 7/17/2009 5:23:14 PM | This is one of my faves from my seafaring days, I miss the Ocean, the music, the camaraderie. It brings back memories of a love lost to the Ocean when I was a young 18 years old. She was in Spain and named Carmen. She was 17. Anytime I hear this song I think of her and smile. I met her in port, she was working at a bank though and not a bar. She wrote me for almost 2 years after i left. I looked forward to the red white and blue stripe air mail envelopes. I saw her once again in port two years later and she wrote me for another year. I never made it back again. The final letter I got was of her getting married and wishing me well. I truly hope she has had a wonderful life. I was married to the sea already and still miss it dearly today.
