Posted: 12/10/2008 1:38:29 AM | I decided NOT to wait, by letting everyone know that this shindig was going down in February 2009. If I had waited, less people might find out about it.
The reason it got pushed back to the current event date is that Cheers North gets a lot of bands booked (and now some comedy acts) so it wasn't easy to get this arranged there. Though keep this in mind: they WANT us there and so it came down to finding the right date. This date is perfect for the fact that it's a weekend after a major UFC event, which gets broadcast at two or three Red Deer pubs.
What's great about having all this time between now and the actual date, is that people can build up their excitement about what they're doing before, during, and after the event.
I will be posting a map in the upcoming week, detailing where this event takes place, as well as a complete list of convenient accomodations.
No stone left unturned!

Actually that sort of thing often requires a license from the Alberta gaming board, and it's no fun trying to get that set up either.
I have run into a wall before with this idea (the legalities and so on)...
However, door prizes (which don't involve anyone paying anything to win something) are an option.
If anyone works at a tanning salon, or works somewhere like Staples, HMV, Future Shop, and so on... and can obtain gift cards, that'd be a cool thing to give away. Makes the night more fun too. | |
