And when it comes to TATOOS the chance of Blood disorders and diseases goes way up!

Spoken like a person whom has never seen the inside of a tattoo parlor, they are cleaner then most doctors offices. Where do you study tattoos at? The same place a man sits with a rusty coat-hanger ?

And from a Christian or Jewish standpoint it is classified as PAGAEN and definitely NOT a Godly practice

That same religion states that Vanity and Lust are deadly sins... but you dont seem to have an issue selling yourself with T and A do you? As well as those same religions look down on overly inflated opinions of oneself...So tell me Self appointed lingerie Model what do you think of that?

My spirituality is just fine, but hows your hypocritical soul doing? Why dont you go find more clothing so you can practice God as much as you want.

this might be a TL; DR (too long, didn't read,) response, but here it goes....

lovinvixen, to sum up the religious stuff, one only has to google the name Jay Bakker, son of Jim and Tammy Bakker, and read his book.

A lot of deeply religious people are heavily tattooed; my best friend and artist is a very devout christian. I am not; I am one of them jews that is far from being righteous, but I do not think of my tattooing as a slap in the face to my spirtuality or the 'great architect.' If you believe the thousands of people with crosses, stars of david, virgin marys, rock of ages tattoos are anti-god; they might be the most devout persons' you will ever meet...

I really don't want to start a personal 'crusade' against your post...as I often do and get wrapped up in internet serious business...

But, I do believe someone else posted similiar comments earlier, maybe 30 pages ago? Was that you?

As for blood pathogens and disease; more is transmitted at your local gym or the dentists chair than at a tattoo shop. Do the research; professional tattoo shops are more clean and usually have to abide by more stringent rules/laws than your average dentist.

The cases of Hep/Aids being transmitted from dirty clinics/drs/dentists is so VASTLY more disgusting than anything at a professional tattoo shop. And your gym? Ugh. From Mat Herpes to other skin/infectious diseases it might be the most disgusting place to go.

You might not have real world knowledge of tattooing cleanliness; whre is your idea formed exceot from zero facts stated? Proper regulated tattooing does not use shared needles; it is not shooting heroin. It is not even equal to sitting on a public toilet with seat cover; it is extremely sterile when practiced correctly.

I doubt you even know the logistics of how a tattoo is put into the skin or the extreme lengths the artists/shops go to in order to create a sterile environment. In some states, and rightfully so, it is government regulated with laws created to insure the public health. A good thing of course...

I understand equating getting tattooed as a high risk activity, yet show me the news articles about a increase in Hep/Aids in comparison to the hundreds of people who get secondary infections from being in hospitals, or getting virus/infectious diseases at other places. The majority of news sources that report the danger of tattooing have no factual basis. They are usually teen/reactionary 'christian' websites purporting dangers without statistics....

''Of the 13,387 annual cases of hepatitis detailed in the most recent CDC report, 12 are associated with tattoo studios. By comparison, 43 cases -- or better than 300% more -- are associated with dental offices''
http://www.tattooartist.com/health.html

I do see the influx in popularity of tattooing, and the dangers are becoming more substantial as less reputable people are doing work from their home or in disgusting cheap shops that are popping up around town. Or in jail of course.

So from that angle I can see cause for concern... But if you do your research and get tattooed by a respectable shop, the risks are minimal; except if you already are in poor health or can't take care of the tattoo.

tattoos are an accepted item today for both sexes..

Uh, no they're not. They're tolerated... just like pants that are seven times too big... and all kinds of metal through people's noses, and lips, and eyebrows. Keep thinking that.

If I said that anyone with a mustache is a criminal, trash, lower class and will
never find a job nor would I hire such a person, that would be quite bigoted and IGNORANT.

I knew a person who couldn't get a particular job because of a moustache. But then my grandmother kept looking and finally found one.

Oh...my....gawd. **Kat and LostGirl are simultaneously beating their heads against the wall, about now**

One of my biggest pet peeves...in fact, if I HAD to pick only ONE, it would be HYPOCRITES. Hack. Choke. Cough.

I believe that Miss Lingerie never answered the questions posed to her about such, before...apologies in advance if I am incorrect.

Your not wrong, which add another deadly sin of Sloth to the mix ...

Im not beating my head against the wall more just shaking it and wondering when originality and education will come into play on the rants provided.

at least hardworker/microchip will just emphatically state he doesnt find them appealing and prefaces what he states with "I think" .. he has a preference and that is accepted he doesnt need to like the look, she on the other had spouts nonsense about it instead of just saying No I dont like them.

I have never been nor worked in a Brothel either...So should I not have an oppinion about prostitution?

I have never used illegal narcotics nor been in an Old West Opium Den; should I NOT have an Opinion of DRUG ABUSE?

I don't Smoke nor get drunk so I can't have an oppinion on those vices?

HOW SHALLOW IS THIS STREAM OR LAKE OF DEAD FISH THAT HAVE BEEN POISONED going to sink too?????????????????????????????????????

As far as my being a lingerie Model for my future husband after the vow, which is SIDETRACKING the argument, are you planning to make love to your future husband in curlers, with avacado dip on your face, in the dark ALL THE TIMES?

PLEASE girl, give it a break, just because you can NOT think properly about a logical response does that mean you should start a SCAGG FIGHT with a female you have problems with?

Some like the 'STINK of INK' and some of us are Biblically Biased; you might do well to study the scriptures yourself!

This thread is like a support therapy group for those with tats.. lolol.

Just look at the profiles of those who don't care for tats vs. the ones who love tats.

It's like comparing Adriana Lima to Amy Winehouse.

Very simple.

Beautiful and classy vs. well.. you make your own conclusions there

I'm with everyone who stated they don't care for tats. Simple.

Those who do like them. Great for you. Whether you like it or not, we live in a society that DOES judge you by your looks. So you are not likely to get around that one..

I assure you I am highly educated on them, it however does not mean that I hold them in the same esteem as you, or that I find the words in it to be the chosen path of life.

Your thoughts are no more valid then mine, and I can express them without hiding behind emoticons.

I have no issues with any person here, unless they make statements that they choose to state as fact instead of what they are, opinion. Your facts are inaccurate and poorly presented.

My soul and I are just fine nor do we need your wake up call. I know that I judge others less then you - which of us abides by the words in that bible? Perhaps you would do well to read it once in a while and not throw it so often.

When it comes to stupid, America set's the standard for the world. People today are more impressionable than children. The straight A student that goes to school for a reason is the nerd or geek and nobody likes him. The biggest dumbass, smart mouth, clown, and future drop out, is soooo cool....he's da man and looked up to by all of your children. You speak of individuality, yet you copy everyone else. You whine like babies getting a shot at the doctor office for your health, yet you spend hundreds of dollars to get stuck 100,000 times to look like you feel asleep on wet comic books. You justify your actions to belong or get attention with claims that it tells you life story, when nobody really gives shit about your life story. Instead of you being an good influence on your children, many of todays parents are so weak minded, they allow their children to influence them. You buy your kids 1000 watt amps and 15" woofers to put in their cars so they will have permanent hearing damage and rattle everyones windows at 3:00 AM....yet you keep him out of school if he gets the sniffles. You ladies go on a date with your little modesty act, when just a month before, you paid out hard earned money to a total stranger to hold your tit or ass for an hour doing your butterfly....but your GYN must have a nurse present. Most of you ladies have enough brains to know that no man would refuse to date you, if you didn't have any tattoos. You should have enough brains to know that 50% of the men wouldn't date a tattooed woman.....especially if your over 40. Why on earth do you spend good money to reduce your chances.....then come on a singles site looking for a man? My neighbors daughter had her ass and breast tattooed, then falls in love with an upper class executive. He dumped her when he learned of it, because he is ashamed for her to be seen at the families summer pool parties. Yea...right, accuse him of being shallow. He's not the one that looks like he fell off a Harley coming out of a trailer part. I took a neighbors kid fishing once and he hooked himself in the ear lobe while casting and cried like a baby. She looked at me as if it was my fault and was ready to kill me. Six months later I see this same stupid kid with fifteen holes in his face, ears, lips and tounge.....and that was O.K. with mommy and him. You buy your kids violent video games to keep them out of you hair, then blame the gun industry because you brat shot the school up. People, you whine about the country going to hell in a hand basket. Who's carrying the basket? This isn't just about tattoo's or poking holes in yourself.....it's about stupid because you've allowed your value system to decline to the lowest level in history. You don't try to imulate a higher order of humanity or set those standards for your kids. You copy trailer park and spend your money on stupid irreversable crap that can even ruin you chances in business, love, or a future. What ever happen to class? My feeling is this....if I could turn the collective brain power of my country today into ink, there wouldn't be enough to tattoo a period on an amebas ass. Yep...I'm a grumpy old man, but I'm not stupid.

Thanks Dave, I've been wanting to get that off my chest for quite a while. How refreshing it is to see a young man that knows his identity belongs between his ears, so it can change as he changes with personal growth. You can always tell who the truly strong are by their resistance to peer pressure and the I.Q. for logic. The only tattoos I have any respect for are military related by combat veterans. This current batch of peer pressure, wannabe bad asses do nothing but distort the legacy for those who earned them. 99% of them get tattooed for bluff power so people will think they are gang related. The thought of that nerd they made fun of in high school coming back to kick their ass just scares the shit out of them. I got to watch some of this new breed of tattooed bad asses in action about three years ago. Some crack head punk came into the neighbor hood to shoot up his girlfriends house. After he fired the first shot, the neightbors were peeking out of their garages like a bunch of scared rabbits....including three guys in their late thirties or early forties coverd in tattoos. Do you think even one of these macho men did anything but scramble for their cell phones? I'm 5'8, weight 170 soaking wet and was 58 yrs. old at the time. I had this kid face down in the dirt and his gun in my pocket in less than 20 seconds. The next day, these younger tattooed bad asses made excuses for themselves and talked about how crazy I was. The police and the news reporters showed up later and one of the mister tattoos puffs his chest out and struts up to one of the reporters and spouts off "I'm the one who called you guys first".......my hero! I've got this wannabe shit figured out. A bunch of has been yuppies that never served a day in the military or ever been in a fist fight, think they can walk in tattoo parlor and buy some manhood for fifty bucks........my ass!! As for you tattooed women.....what is that shit? Daddy didn't give you enough attention? You got some insecurity or sexuality issues that you think you can hide under the "bad girl" image? Are you tattooed grandmas trying to steal your daughters boyfriend or are you paying out the money to get that saggy tit in somebodies hand, if even for an hour? Yep old girls, nothing earns the respect or admiration from your children, like mom adopting the washed out "bar fly" look....make em proud! LOL! As for the rest of you....it isn't that tattoos hurt anyone eyes, it's the copy cat, wannabe mentality behind it that sucks. If you're stupid enough to be led by the nose to every fad that comes around the corner, you are also stupid enough to allow your corrupt government to lead you by the nose and rob you blind. While you pack of dummies are preoccupied with poking holes in you face, your damn country has been sold to China. Who do I see about that? While you debate issues of personal preference, you're too dumbed down to realize that your personal preferences for next year are being decided in some billionares board room at this very moment. They know you are a bunch of dumb cattle that will follow what ever they start. While you idiots walk around looking like a billboard with empty pockets, some clean cut wealthy excutive just flew over your head in his lear jet that owns the tattoo ink company. Your tattooes are nothing more than a testiment of his control over you. You superficial suckers, get your heads out of your asses before "The planet of the apes" becomes your reality. Well, I guess there was just a little more on my chest....I feel much better now. Dave, you hang in there bud....you're one of the very few left that could give this country full of sheeple any hope.

Mtn.Lover, I'd love to see proof backing this statement:

You should have enough brains to know that 50% of the men wouldn't date a tattooed woman.....

I highly doubt someone with ink cares if someone without ink chooses to reject them because of it, especially if that is the sole reason for rejection.

A lot of what you said is just plain ignorance, simply put. I have a genius IQ, I have class, I don't do drugs, never been to jail, I don't live in a trailer park and don't know anyone who does, the last time I had any alcohol was April 5th (and didn't get drunk) and before that I don't even remember when... pretty normal girl here, raising my son to be a perfect little gentlemen, he's really smart, lots of friends, outgoing, and guess what? I HAVE TATTOOS. 6 of them. They aren't on my chest and I have no tramp stamp. They aren't black and faded or look like prison tattoos. No one was holding my boob and it was nothing lurid or erotic, I assure you.

I don't know where you've been, but tattoos are not a fad.

Selena, you say you don't know where I've been?.....to answer your question,...on this earth twice as long as you have been. Sense you are a genius and feel the money spent inking your ass serves a higher purpose than putting it in your childrens college fund.....you are a fine example of what I'm talking about. I suppose, now you are going to tell me you are wealthy and there wasn't another place or priority for the money spent than ink on your butt. If this is genius by todays standards....we are in some big freakin trouble. So....you don't do drugs, or been in jail or a trailer park. I guess that just throws you in the "me too" copy cat, sheeple catagory that I was elaborating on to begin with. I hate to correct a genius here, but tattoos go back a hell of a lot farther than just hundreds of years. They go all the way back to beginning of primitive man...."primitive" being the operative word here. I'm one of those sick individuals that adopted civilized society and like to see it move forward instead of reverse. Sell me a tattoo smart girl......give me your long list of why I should get one and all the positive difference it will make in my life. I'm listening...shoot!

P.S. Allow me to explain something to you about genius. They are a little too smart to make that claim in public for the possiblily of getting their head beat in with it. Smart people don't talk it.....they walk it.

One Does NOT have to work at NASA and be a rocket designer to see this, the quagmire in America is so BAAAAAADDDD that is why so maaaannnnnnnnyyyyy of us are on relationship adds via the internett; because so many parents are teaching 'tramp' behavior to their kids and letting it slide.

The fact that so many followed muscians like Jimmy hendrix, Steppin Wolf, Iron Butterfly, and other Druggies states America's decay! Then you have those who worship Saints like Micheal Jackson when their music should have been boycotted by his criminal actions NOT buy their music; same with the Drug-Rock groups of the 60s and 70s. Then you have this current movement of Rappers speaking trash(profanity) in their lyrics, and this Punk Rock movement!

Where and who are the idiot parents of this low life movement followers?

Personally I love Tatoos but think those with them ought to get Turquoise peircings and look more like Mel Gibson's movie on the Mayan cultures with bone and such in their nose and totally ink their face. Hey, the 'Circus Freak' look is in. I wonder if a Rock Group got every other tooth removed IF most would follow if it was trendy? I also love men who have 60 inch or better waitlines; more to love

YOU OUGHT TO KNOW I'M BEING TOTALLY SARCASTIC IN THE ABOVE PRO TATOO COMMENT!

I and girls I know would no more go out with a Weirdo or Freak with Tatoos than we would date Micheal Jackson!

I have 3 and am in the modst of designing my 4th. I'm not a cheap slapper, I'm a 39 yr old professional female and my tats are tasteful and discreet, not visible during my working day. They are meaningful to me and a big part of who I am. If it turns you off, sorry but you judged too quick! You need to get to know a person before you judge them and write them off. I thought the world was becoming more toleramt...maybe I was wrong! M

//First, I don't expect anyone to really read what I say; partly because you would rather hear your own voice then to take a minute to read what someone else thinks. ...//

Is this about our culture or that you don't like or a tattoo? Sounds more like some people have issue with how the culture/attitudes of people don't match your own.

I am not going to argue with such people; if you want to exist in a world of your liking who am i to question that?

As long as i am not forced to live like you, I wouldn't expect you to live or look like me.

But bear in mind that your hasty generalizations are not indictive of everyone with tattoos; its a matter of civility. While you might see me as primitive, I see your behavior/attitude of prejudgement to be a sign of fear and aversion for whatever is different from yourself. And by placing all that is wrong with children, music, and society in conjunction with a scapegoat, it might make you better deal with the reality of a world that is slowly slipping out of control for you.

The argument some are making, therefore, seems to be people who also dislike certain aspects of what people enjoy in our society. Whether that be music or dress, tattoos or piercings. If you think its an 'American' culture that is sick or poisoned, then you haven't left your backyard lately. Unfortunately for you, its a worldwide phenomena, one of which has existed since mankind walked the earth. Its part of who we are; and yes, it can be considered ugly or primitive. But what is ugly to some is attractive to others; its part of how we socialize.

Therefore, I agree with everything you say, because I am not like you or think like you and wouldn't want to be a part of your world either. And that doesn't have to do with how you look, it would have to do with how you think.

mtn.lover, no one is trying to change your opinion on tattoos. No one really cares whether or not you approve. You seem hell bent on offending as many people as possible, though. Why is that? You don't like tattoos, you don't see the need for them, fine. But like I said, you're being ignorant about it. I made my point, that what you're convinced people with tattoos are like is dead wrong, but I won't argue with you or try to change your mind. I'm not offended by your attempts to disparage me because you don't know me and I don't care to know you so your opinion of me means absolutely nothing.
Oh, and by the way, I don't have tattoos on my ass either. Just one more thing you assumed that was dead wrong.

msmsms, If your tattoos are not visible during your normal day....sounds like you wasted your time and money. If you are so proud of them, why not get them out there for the world to see? So....they are meaningful to you and a big part of who you are? All of who I am lies between my ears, it's free and no scabs or excuses. How did your life manage to get so reduced that some ink under your skin is a BIG part of who you are?? pretty sad, if you ask me. Tell us the truth dear....it's the little naughty girl thing that get exposed in the bedroom..isn't it. Your little secret that you think make a man feel he's found a little wild cat when the panties hit the floor. Who are you fooling besides yourself? You say you thought the world was becoming more tolerant......that's just the problem my dear, it's become too damn tolerant. The more tolerant society becomes of your bazaar attention seeking, the more you push the limits. If one tattoo doesn't do it, let's get some more. If that doesn't do it, let's drive some nails in our head and dye our hair purple. What is it about you people that makes you want to be something that is merely tolerated ? Why do you as role models for children want them to think life is a freak contest? Really....you have nothing better for them to be influenced with?
