| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 9/15/2009 2:25:51 AM | | Dont like tatoos, its like kids having earrings when i was at school, if you had an earring and you were male you were a gypsy, then when i turned sixteen i got an earring and so did most of my mates and it became really common and nothing special as everyone our age was getting them, same with tatoos, seems to me everyones got them and to me they dont stand for anything. It makes me laugh when you see some chinese writing or whatever and they say it means something special to them, i just think it dont mean anything to anybody else and dont even look good so whats the point? Especially women and their tramp stamps, its seems like every woman has got one and wants to show it off, but why, it doesnt look cool or original it just says you follow the crowd. Then again thats only my opinion | |

My 2 cents. | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 9/15/2009 9:11:13 PM | I have this interesting theory that moreless is against tattoos. First off, the idea of geting a tattoo had crossed my mind before in the past. Besides the obvious setbacks such as identification by tattoo's and there near impossible removle. My theory as follows: Tattoo's impede versitility. What I mean, there are stereotypes that go with having even only one tattoo. People who have them may not fit in with certain groups or functions. Even if the tattoo is on a part of the body that is rather private. Last but not least, tattoo's are a mark of society. For instance someone who has lived in isolation for most of their lives would not likely have a tattoo. | |

I think its very old fashioned to judge someones social class, moral standing or intelligence by thier apperance. Take me, i have tattoos and piercings im tall mixed race and a strong build plus im a beautician. By some peoples standards i must be stupid, a thug. like a fight and live in a pig sty Well i have a degree, i manage three buisnesses, my homes lived in but no pig sty and im not a fighter! Get to know the person, forget about the decorations and concentrate on whats inside :)

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 9/17/2009 3:21:19 PM | | I have seen that many people who have tattoos seem to place a lot of (too much?) value on them. I place no value--no good, no bad--on 'toos. I was just "approving/rejecting? photos on PoF and many were of just the sleeve or something. I don't get why that would be significant to anyone ona dating site, but 102 pages prove me wrong, eh?! | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 9/17/2009 5:00:41 PM | I did see one woman's response that she used tattoos to cover her scar(s), and this I can certainly understand and appreciate. However I did not find anything in my search here in the "over 30" threads regarding this particular issue.
I have had psoriasis for the last 40 years. For those of you who do not know what this is, it is a skin disease and can be generally described as red, scaly patches of the skin, similar to a rash. Some people have small amounts of it, others large amounts that can cover most of their bodies. As for myself, I fit somewhere in between. It is incurable, and is known also to appear and disappear at various times, sometimes despite any attempts to control it. Please do not pity me, because I consider myself fortunate that this is the only disease that I have, and that I am not inflicted with some other disorder far worse, physical or mental, as so many other people in this world are.
As such, I have spent tons of time and money paying people to try to remove these marks from my body, and I'll be damned if I am going to pay someone to put marks ON my body. So, no tats for me.
As for a lady, it does not bother me one bit if she has a tat or two, or even 5. The only turn off for me in a woman is if they cover large areas and or a large amount of her body. Normal skin to me is a beautiful thing.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 9/17/2009 11:57:10 PM | The original question.what do I think about tattoo's.
I don't like commercial, follow the herd, badly done or badly thought out tattoo's. They make my eyes hurt.
My tattoo's are large, visible, a status symbol, they cost a great deal of money because of the artist that does them and his skill, they set me apart, they mark me out........and they're guaranteed to immediately sort the wheat from the chaff. I'll elaborate.
wheat...someone who appreciates art, beauty, expression, diversity, ritual. chaff...someone who doesn't.
P.S.
I'm a professional engineer and my body art has never, ever been a problem for me or other people that I have working relationships with.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 9/18/2009 12:39:20 AM | | I think tattoos are pretty hot on a woman which is weird because a few years ago I wouldnt have thought that.Maybe I am getting younger as I get older.I just got my first one and will be getting more as time permits. | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 9/18/2009 3:00:13 AM | I love tattoos on women! There's something about them that I find to be very sexy. I'm not quite sure what it is, but I'm guessing there's some Freudian undertone to my appeal for them. | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 9/20/2009 5:48:49 AM | | I have seen facial piercings and tattoos (on upper arms) transform rather plain girls into someone beautiful and interesting. Hmmm, maybe they always were beautiful and interesting, but this just drew attention to it. | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 9/20/2009 10:31:37 AM | | I currently have 6 tats, and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. However, I'm a tattooer. I look at my ink and love it. Guys with ink? Love them. If a person won't go for me because i have ink...then, don't lol | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 9/20/2009 8:08:17 PM | I think they are OK.
Women with a tat on their chest is a complete turn off for me. But if you want to do it, go for it.
I am all about personal choice as long as the person making that choice also takes on the responsibility of that choice.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 9/22/2009 8:45:36 PM | | I've tended to find more tattooed people(as in, more than just a buttferly somewhere or a bad-judgement tramp stamp) specifically rejecting the non-tattoo enthusiasts, than I think there is of the non or lightly tatooed rejected those with more tattoos. | |

This thread is endless amusement. Have you people ever met someone with extensive tattooing?

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 9/23/2009 10:34:58 AM | | I have one tattoo, but regarding those on women... I like them fine as long as one thing applies - the artist didn't have to view, touch, or have shoved in his face the private areas of your body in the process of applying the ink; that's just slutty and revolting. Tattoos on the upper breast for example, are a turn off, as it doesn't thrill me to visualize where the artist's hand had to rest in order to do the work. "Tramp Stamps" are a huge turnoff, just based on the fact that your ass has to be in the artist's face the entire time. Cute little heart tattoos in the upper panty line area are a turn off... etc so on and so forth. There's nothing wrong with some self-expression with tattoos, but a girl who respects herself and is worth respecting will be mindful of the locations of her body in which she's willing to be inked. | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 9/27/2009 5:08:52 PM | | they are just fine, an expression of someone's personality. a tat is supposed to be very personal, and have deep meaning. personally, i'm debating getting 1, but i want it to be just right. mine would have very deep meaning, and summarize my personality, and a major core philosophy. i must say though, i'm a lil old fashioned about a woman getting sleeved, but i respect her right to do what she wants and i don't judge based on the number or placement of tats. the tasteful ones are sexy to me... | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 9/27/2009 5:47:32 PM | Well tattoos are personal and if you dont unstand that then it leaves alot out of the picture. I have a work in progress on my back, a kind of family tree sort to speek. It is for my family and has meaning for our growth and our change. I have no regreats and see it for what it is personal. I will be addeding to my tree in May and will also add the nexst peice of our puzzle. Also in the nexst couple of months I plan on getting a couple of different peice's for my Father RIP. again though these are personal and have nothing to offer anyone but me. Skin is canvas with out paint.
Tattoos & percing , are what we do as indidules not a whole. If your body is your temple then adorn it....It doesnt go with us when we leave thats why we say ashs to ashs.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 9/28/2009 4:36:13 PM | Lately it's the mid 20's and over crowd in my town that are all inked up.
I only care that the person (bodily) is hygenic. That the dress is appropriate for whatever venue they are in. I know a guy who has "sleves" (Tattoos down his arm from shoulder to wrist) and he works an office job while pushing his band. The sleves on his shirts are long and he covers them well. When he's out of work, it's back to tshirts. He's very intelligent and not cheap at all. You can't judge a book by the cover.
The most important deal breaker is how they treat me or my loved ones. If I feel loved and respected and he respects my family and friends and accept them as part of my life, He can look like a roadmap for all I care.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 9/28/2009 6:15:53 PM | | I dont mind certain kinds of tattoos. In fact I have a high heel shoe with my first name down the middle of it right above my bra strap. So its a very fitting tattoo for me. I think people who get one without any meaning may be the wrong reason. | |
|
| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 9/30/2009 8:47:29 PM | | I actually have three small tats. None of them are "trashy". They all mean something to me and are in areas where I can cover them if desire. One is a memorial for my deceased uncle, one a gift from my family member, and the other represents the beauty within. I do however think that a women with tats covering thier bodies or tats in areas that you can't cover up are very tacky and distastfull. Each of my tats were very well thought out. I spent months deciding what I wanted to put on my body it was not a decision that was mad in a drunkon stuper. | |
