Some tattoos make people out to be thugs or something. Sorry that is just my opinion. But you are right they are worst on women than men. Maybe a small tattoo on a man is ok but not when they tattoo their selves on every part of their selves-that is really thuggery.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 1/29/2012 8:11:23 PM | Part of a post I wrote on facebook on the decline of the modern man that got lots of positive feedback.
"Guys : Remember back in the day when... - Tattoos and Scruffy Beards were a lifestyle rather than a fashion trend?"
I love it when people do something permanent, like a tattoo, because something profound has affected their life, rather than because was the cool thing to do.
I will always respect a persons tattoo if it has a personal story behind it. And when I mean personal story, I don't mean "I got drunk one night and woke up with a tattoo." or "my friend xxxx got it, so I had to get one too."

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 1/30/2012 10:47:01 AM | | I am over 30 and I have a pretty good amount of tattoos. I don't think it makes me look trashy because I do not present myself in a trashy manner at all. I love the art and the meaning behind my own tattoos and that of others. I think people who don't like them is to each their own thing. I don't judge people upon what they have or do not have but how they are to me. I plant to get more i feel if people don't like them don't waste the time talking to me or anyone who has them but you could be missing out on a great person. | |

Kat von D is trashy because they are all over her whole body. In real life that many tatoos prob wont get you far or get you a job for sure if you are looking for one. Some is fine but like full body no ty

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 4/12/2012 1:23:39 PM | I have to say, I am noticing an over abundance of numerous or sizable tats on women as of late, esp. when summer approaches and there out swimming or boating.
I see a beautiful woman in her swimsuit, and then she turns her back, and I see a LARGE tat of angel wings on her back, or some ink sprawled across from her under arm area all the way to her hip......whatever happened to the cutsey tats that were discrete on their ankles or somewhere else discrete.
Now I'm seeing these sleeve tats, not the small, snoopy tats I used to see which don't distract me from her figure.
That's just putting bumper stickers all over a nice looking European car.
Not that I'm judging, but there's just an overabundance of ink lately.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 4/12/2012 1:51:20 PM | I don't really care for tattoos, but it's a very minor thing.
I thought about getting one many years ago, but now it's so common that it's more like being a conformist to have tatts.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 4/13/2012 1:12:08 AM | | I absolutely LOVE tats, I plan on getting another, have two already, I am a tattoo snob though, I wont do flash. As for the Thug comment, lmao most of my friends have tattoos, I have an IT guy friend who has a starcraft tat and a linux tat (Yeah the Computer nerd thug strikes again) Don't judge tattooed guys, I know a few of them that make 200k plus a year, one of um, he has so much ink and so many piercings he has very little skin showing (Hes also a Mine General Foreman out here, and makes quite a bit of money) | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 4/13/2012 3:49:18 AM | | The difference between people that have tattoos and people that don't is that the people who have tattoos don't care if other people have them or not. | |

"The difference between people that have tattoos and people that don't is that the people who have tattoos don't care if other people have them or not."
Yeah, I guess that's why I've seen countless profiles from women here claiming to only be attracted to guys "with ink".

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 4/13/2012 7:57:06 AM | ^^^How does that contradict what I said? When people tell me that they like my tattoos I politely thank them but I don't care. At all. I'm a collector. It's a hobby. None of my ink has any great profound meaning to me.
From a story I wrote about process serving, managing a bakery and why I started getting tattoos:
"I'm trying to point something out here. My commitment to this job was not about the money. I don't even think I was making two bucks an hour. It was piece work and I was putting in twelve hour days, at least six days a week and driving about 1200 miles a week. See, I took the job. I had a job to do. I was impervious to threats. The job was really about my transition from nine years of Las Vegas, to the white bread, ham and eggs life I was going to have to adjust to. The job was offbeat enough and unstructured enough so that is wasn't some kind of living death. It took me years to adjust to a normal and drug free life. I was still drinking, in fact. I finally packed it all in when I was forty eight. Later on, I ended up living in Korea Town and working in Northridge, in the San Fernando Valley. I was managing a bakery. THAT'S WHEN I STARTED GETTING TATTOOS. I NEEDED SOMETHING REAL TO HAPPEN, SOMETHING PAINFUL AND PERMANENT. What is it about risk taking, apart from possible genetic motivators, because risk is what? Risk is possibility. That's where God lives, in the possible. It could be spiritual -- you could make a case. Maybe it's not all light and transcendence. You could find God in the gutter. Maybe you could. "

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 4/13/2012 5:10:02 PM | | Im 49 and I think everyone has different tastes. Personally I like them, which is just as well as I have several large ones myself. They are covered by a tshirt, but visible if I wear something with a lower neckline. I don't think they make me look cheap -I dont smoke, I dress nicely, and take care of my hair and make up, have good teeth and I conduct myself in a ladylike manner, most of the time. I think they can add to the whole cheap look if a woman dresses badly, has ratty hair and doesnt take care of herself generally, but in and of themselves they dont make anyone look cheap....it's just the viewer's personal opinion. What gets on my nerves sometimes is that some men seem to think tattoos make me somehow more wild or exciting than a woman without them, when they are just something I like. | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 4/13/2012 8:13:57 PM | Boring and trendy. There are a few that have meaning. I get those. And there is some fantastic art out there. I respect the art of it all. After that I'm sick and tired of people with tattoos showing whatever skin necessary to show them off for whatever attention they can. I'm sick of working with people with them who use it as some sort of conversation starter, as if its the only thing they are capable of speaking about.
And its seriously sickening how many women make some comment to that in their profiles and how sexy they find it. Completely unoriginal. Like men going on about how they find blondes attractive. We should put that in our profiles.
So to recap, boring and trendy, cliche as all hell.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 4/13/2012 10:22:21 PM | I'm just so sick of people with long hair and goatees. As if that makes them somehow special or different. It's just so boring and trendy. I'm just so tired of people that try so hard to prove that they are different when they are really not different at all. People that have to define themselves in juxtaposition to some kind of cliche that they made up.

Yeah, I've seen them say, "I have 2 tats, and I plan on getting more!" . Guess they're giving us some fair warning, which is a good thing.
It has even sometimes made the traditional beach going experience unappealing. Seems all I'm seeing at the beach is bikini top....then massive amounts of ink...then the bikini bottom....and then sometimes even ink down their thigh.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 4/14/2012 4:06:27 PM | Well bodypr or whoever, I'll humor you. The hair is gone actually as of last week, and was just fun for shows. Not something that I needed to start a conversation. And the goatee is really only there to cover up a good volleyball scar under the chin for shaving purposes. I realize how I look. I don't do so for purposes of fitting in, thinking I'm more sexy, or needing something to talk about when needing to keep up with the new-age 'Joneses.'' There are many kinds of cliche, and even I realize how I look like a certain kind. Not sure tattoo people do, and that's the funny part.
In my humble opinion. lol!
At a hundred and eighteen pages, I may miss out on the backlash fortunately for such judgemental OPINION. lol

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 4/14/2012 4:35:59 PM | Bodypr08 - my point was that there *are* tattooed people who care about whether one has tattoos or not, as proven by their desire to only date men with tattoos.
Me personally, I don't have any, and have grown tired of being expected to have them. You have no earthly idea how many times I'm asked if I have any, or they simply assume I do, and ask to see them.
Let's face it, people who looked down on tattoos 15-20 years ago are the ones getting them today. Where were the women with "sleeves" and "tramp stamps" 15-20 years ago?

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 4/14/2012 4:43:49 PM | | Oh, and Bodypr08, as for long hair, I have mine for no other reason other than the fact I think I look better with it. I am making no social statement of any kind. And from where I am, it is FAR from trendy. It's not widely accepted, but I have never cared. | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/13/2012 11:16:41 AM | Oh lordy. Not good when your tattoo artist and yourself are illiterate. Just saw a profile of a woman with a tattoo that reads: "This to shall pass." WOW. Just wow. | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/13/2012 11:57:21 AM | I am not a fan of tattoos at all. I also don't tell anyone what to do with their bodies. I'm not the one that's going to have to live with it. The bad thing is in my preferences, is that it's harder to find someone without tats.
Oh lordy. Not good when your tattoo artist and yourself are illiterate. Just saw a profile of a woman with a tattoo that reads: "This to shall pass." WOW. Just wow. I actually think that's awesome. Anyone dumb enough to not check out what's going to be permanently etched in their skin, deserves what they get.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/14/2012 9:40:42 AM | | I have a small one. As for tatts on men, I love them. I find them very sexy. If a man I'm interested in doesn't have one that's fine, it's not a prerequisite or anything. | |
