Ask any girl what the tribal piece on her back means, some of the answers are ounstanding.I could care less if a women has tattoos or not,as adults,we should be able to look past them.I am in the process of opening a tattoo shop, and those cute little tattoos keep your doors open.

| You are all damned! Posted: 2/13/2007 9:38:34 PM | You people and your tattoo's I tell ya its right in the bible. You're going to hell! You young whipper snapper. Leviticus 19:28 says...
You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the LORD.
But see there is one flaw in this passage. Any time you go in a church or are approached by some born again that still tries to take the bible literally, tell them this. It is a tatoo of my choice that is not for the dead. If I had a tattoo of Jesus would that make you happier? If they answer yest, tell them go back and re-read that passage because it isn't open to interpretation, it is "DON'T DO IT FOR THE DEAD". That has a lot to do with some people's personal decision. The marks are not to be for the dead. Period. Anything else, well that's fine but not for the dead.
I've got two I had designed years back, but I can't get them because of this. Yet somehow I feel that maybe if I did get them the healing would start in some small way. It sounds screwy but I have talked to a couple of close friends that both got them and they saw my artwork and said go for it.
Problem is, I don't know how to translate the artwork into Tat workable artwork. There was a time that I swore I wanted to write "They ask us why we mutilate each other like we do And wonder why we hold such little worth for human life Facing all this drama But to ask us why we to turn from bad to worse Is to ignore from which we came You see you wouldn't ask why the rose that grew from the concrete had damaged petals On the contrary We would all celebrate its tenacity We would all love its will to reach the sun Well We are the roses This is the concrete And these are my damaged petals Don't ask me why Thank god Ask me how"
From Tupac's "Mama's just a little girl" and B4 you start judging, no I'm not some over the hill eminem wanna be, I grew up around the same place he did, but I go back to rappers with hits like white lines, all the way back. I might be white on the outside, but to some I'm an "egg" to some, an inverted oreo. But I digress... Anyway, that part of the song, I thought yeah, thats it, and then they told me they would be lucky to fit the whole damn thing on my back and I went...damn, that was it and left.
So now I have these two pieces of artwork, and one is too personal for here, that's for me and maybe one or two other people to ever discuss again. The other is based on a mash (more likely a mosh) of "The Last Supper" and the song Unforgiven by Metallica. Jesus sitting at center like every other time we've seen this (but I'm really thinking about re-painting this part with Mary Magdelene sitting on his lap...)...she was no whore. Anyhow, Judas to his right, me to his left and 10 other "unforgivens" and below this the phrase "You label me, I label you, so I dub the unforgiven".
Cool or not? Probably not, that's why I haven't gotten it done yet.

My niece has one on her ankle, pretty but I guess it's like, if I carried around my guitar everywhere with me it would be out of place from time to time. Small price to pay if you really love them though. I've certainly seen some that take the breath away. Truely masterpieces.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 2/14/2007 3:42:04 AM | I just got one in December that I had been considering for more than 10 years. My thought is this.....if you are going to get one then make sure you think about it for awhile and have an idea what you would want, while you think about it. Then you are alot less likely to regret it later. Then decide on placement. | |

I thought christians believed that Christ died but was ressurected, which would indicate that he was not dead but alive.
Mind you "christians" also are supposed to follow the teachings of Christ who loved everyone and taught tolerance and forgivness.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 2/18/2007 12:49:13 AM | i wrote a song on my ukulele about tattoos.
Specifically about how I don't have one, and will probably never have one, but how I still respect them and the people who have them.
"if you want to know why I never got a tattoo; it's because i've been saving every inch of my body for you"
its the cheesiest song I've ever written! haha

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 2/18/2007 5:59:03 AM | Tattoos are a big turn on for me. I guess I am attracted to the "bad boy" type and tattoos on guys seem to give that kinda vibe. And it is a very good conversation piece too ... tattoos often have interesting stories behind them. I have 3 tattoos myself but they are strategically placed so that I can hide them when the occasion warrants it ... job interviews etc. I waited until I was 31 before I got my first one. And I dont regret it at all. But it is definately not something to do on a drunken whim :) | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 2/18/2007 7:37:11 AM | I'm kind of mixed on tattoos
I've got one, it took me 6 years of wanting the same thing before I got it. I'll probably have another one in a few years.
I don't particularly like the full sleeve or whole body stuff where it's a bunch of different items with no particular theme. I can admire the work, but it's not for me.
I have seen some really nice full-body pieces on women that I thought were fantastic, but it's essentially one tattoo that takes up her entire body - those are pretty darned awesome. I also like it when women have several discreetly placed pieces that you don't see till later - kind of like uwrapping her layers...
Tattoos on the breasts turn me off, though - I'm not really sure why, probably because I like breasts, and the tattoo just doesn't seem to fit.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 2/18/2007 11:30:39 AM | | I've been thinking about getting one myself, just can't find the right design... I really like them on other people though, they are definately a very good way to express your personality. | |
|
| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 2/18/2007 2:40:18 PM | i don't have any tats of my own...but i do admire body art on others.
however, people have gotta stay away from the stock album tattoo art which reflects nothing of their personality or individual creativity. get something unique inked, not the same tat that the 20 guys before you had put on their skin. and please oh please get a good artist and touch up old tats, nothing worse than fading or bad art on your body.
done well, tats are sexy and beautiful. done badly, they're a huge turn off.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 2/28/2007 2:13:14 AM | Each to there own.
I LOVE Them, but with all they have to be done well and be tastefull (things like a spiders webb between clevage is just stupid but has been seen on some crazy ladies). I also feel that they should have meaning, mine do, no one else would know what they mean so they make an excellent talking point when people first see them.
also top advice from "crazycurlz" get a good artist, A tattooist opened up near me and unfortunately a woman i workwith went there to ge another inking, turned out he had no licence, was a s**t artist and she has a permanent reminder of it as it wasn't a small tat she went for and will take some covering.
If like me your going to spend hundreds of pounds on inking yourself then do your homework, check your artist history, how long they've been in buisness, proffesional attitude (consult them about the designs-colours etc don't just pick one off the wall or if you do change something about it that makes it yours a good artist will re-draw anything till it is right for you) , past clients, genuine photos of previous work and as i did with my dragons i went in and watched him do some work on someone else first, (this shouldn't be a problem if you give some notice and they want your money)
now on the look-out for ideas designs for my next one
but on the other hand it is your body and you can do what you please with it, you're the one that has to live with it.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 2/28/2007 5:40:38 PM | I am becoming a fan of tattoos that have some sort of meaning (no skull and crossbones, or naked women etc.)
I have one on my left shoulder blade that is the Canadian landmass, with the Canadian flag and New Brunswick flag melded together (although the NB flag is on the WEST side instead of EAST; it had to be done to get the detail in..)
My next tattoo is gonna be done this Friday, and I'm very excited... I'm getting a bull (Taurus) done, but have not decided yet whether on my chest or shoulder....
... yep tasteful tats on women are VERY sexy, but not a requirement!!

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 2/28/2007 5:57:01 PM | Nice to look at, but I don't want any. Ever. Just not my thing. The art work of tattoos has become incredibly detailed and they're amazing to look at.
I wouldn't mind if a woman I was with had them, so long as they aren't taking up 95% of her body. To me, that many would be a turn off.
