Tis my choice, my older brother is happily married over 10 years to his THIRD wife , (he likes dressing up n eating cake I think) and his arms are a mess blacked out names of ex lovers/ wifes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess if i got stupidly drunk I might have a W inked on each of my buttocks!
But like all in life, its down to your own choice, i'm not a huge fan of ladies with beards or tashes either.........Next!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | |

But i love body art...i have 6, none of which are noticeable unless i want them noticed. I feel they are all in good taste. And of course i love a guy with a great tattoo. | |

Posted: 3/16/2007 4:50:15 PM | | wow!!..i finally have a qualifyed opinion in these forums!...good for me...just the fact that theres thirty five pages and counting on this thread shows how many opinions on the subject there are ...iv been a tattoo artist in rhode island for over eight years now and every year it gets more and more popular with people from every walk of life...the days of sailors,bikers and jailbirds being the only ones with tattoos are over...what really gets me is the people who say they hate them or get all judgey on others over their tattoos...for you few(and you know who you are) if you dont like tattoos or the people who have them thats ok...just keep your opinions to yourself because people treasure their tattoos and came to very personal decisions to get them done...that being said...im very not-typical of this industry at all...i have a studio art degree (that and two bucks gets me a coffee at starbucks) and only a couple of tattoos....its all about prefrence...some people will get one tiny tattoo and leave it at that..some cant get enough...thats where the popularity comes from...the only thing any tattoo has in common with any other is that its personal to the one who has it...if nothing else respect that...to answer the most asked question..HELL YEA IT HURTS!!!! | |

Posted: 3/17/2007 8:53:14 PM | My two cents.... I live in Whistler (or Disneyland north as we refer it to) home of the perrenial child, my self included. I have a lower back tat which I designed myself over two very tumultuous years, so it has a lot of meaning. There are a lot of women that just get them to be hip, there are also a lot of women that don't care what you think! I also have a lip jewel (that people don't even notice) and I'm not sure if it's because of where I live or because it's inconspicuous. Tats just seems so common now, and normal, reading back someone was mentioning that they didn't much like face tats! What a difference a few years make to these postings (start at the first page and you'll see what I mean). BTW, I love guys with tats and piercings, but like any good canvas you need good art and I've seen some really bad drawings. I'm also gainfully employed (kooky piercings, tattoos and all) in accounting. So women and tats, I think are good, and hopefully there's a guy out there that thinks mine is pretty sweet!

It's the view of society. 20 years ago ppl associated women who have visable tatoo's to be of a more trashy nature. May or may not have been true, but you always associated 'biker chick' with tatoo's. Older guys for the most part may be put off by tatoo's for that reason.
Today, it's pop culture to get one. "look at me and my tatoo!" Anything for attention. If your a young woman, (it would seem to me) you have to have a cool 'my space' with at least a 100 digi pics of yourself, with at least half of them shot from above so we can all see your boobs while you make those big puppy dog eyes. and then you need at least 30 pics of you cool tatoos.
It's just a sign of the times, but at least I got to cut my mullet off when I turned 20.

Tribal stuff is very old hat, everyone has it.
I am not a fan of visible tattoos on women, that is personal thing, not a slight on women who have visible tattoos.

I have a back piece and think its superb!
As for sexiness on men - hold me back!!!there is nothing sexier than a man with a whole load of tattoos.So if thats you reading this message,MAIL ME!!!!!

Posted: 3/19/2007 8:42:07 AM | hmm been reading this thread and had to speak up...just because your over 30 doesnt mean your a fossil...live and let live people...its a tattoo...its a way to express yourself....its really too bad the generationin their 30's didnt get a chance to fight for freedom of expression...seems to have been bad for our social growth!
I got my first tattoo for my 30th birthday(lower back)....I recently got my feet done...and frankly I am so glad i decided to do it now...I know what is important to me and how i would want to permenantly stain my skin. I am also old enough to think of where i would do it. I am a professional so I choose to do it in places i can easily cover. I dont think I would want to date someone who is sooo narrow minded they would judge me for it. I believe in individuality and self expression. | |

I have no issues with tatoos myself, but employing people with visable tatoo's in some settings can cost employers customers and money. McDonalds customers may not care about a kid with tat's, but the customers of a multi million dollar restaurant, or law firm may. Sorry, my lawyer had better not show up for business with a mohawk, facial peircings, and tatoo's. Wouldn't be professional. My mechanic, different stroy!

They seem cooler among the younger crowd and blue colar.
I bet in other regions of the country tatoos could be popular amongst the white colar crowd. | |

Everyone that does art work, whether it was michelangelo and the sistine chapel or the gangster down the street, are showing their ways expression.
