I've considered it a time or two then for whatever reason didnt go through - I think on the lower back on women they do have a certain appeal. I wouldnt get covered in them...my sister is a marathon runner she gets a new one everytime she is in a marathon something symbolic for her, but shes currently running out of places to put them. In a professional career with a suit and heels something about tattoos running up and down your leg kinda take away from your professionalism. Then again, on men within reason I find them sexy! | |

Posted: 1/20/2008 10:14:52 PM | well like you say live and learn,It can be a painfull lesson! I had a girlfriend in Brazil who didn't have any tats,I myself have 15,but that's niether here nor there!
I went to another country to work for a few months and she phoned me and told me she had a surprize for me when I returned. great I thought,still loves me.
I got back and she showed her tattoo that "she put there for me" just above that beautiful Brazilian backside were the words"did you miss me?"
Not a nice vine or a design which I think is smokin hot,but something that everyone looks at and thinks trashy!to cover it up we had to tattoo all of her lower back,which now looks cluttered and much worse,small well placed tattoos on women are hot ,but think it thru,THEY ARE THERE FOR LIFE! | |

Posted: 1/20/2008 11:20:42 PM | On women, I used to loathe tattoos, but I’ve gotten more used to seeing them. For me, tattoos on the front of the body almost never improve her look. The worst is the “around the belly-button" tat or on the breasts. I’d much rather look at a well-conceived tattoo on her back, shoulder or arms. And I’d rather see one large well-thought out tattoo than a smattering of random ink blotches here and there.
I don’t have any, and probably won’t ever get one. Too faddish. Everyone’s got to have a tat, so I’m making more of a personal statement by not having one than by following the herd. There’s a difference though between people who have put a lot of thought into their tats and selected them with taste. I can admire that. I just hate “stupid” tattoos- seemingly spur of the moment decisions that deface one’s body forever.

i have a high profile job but the art i have on my body reflects my personality and significant events in my life
every one is entitled to their opinion but u shouldnt judge book by its cover and it doesnt deflect who i am or what i do im still an independant confident woman who happens to ahve tatoos it doesnt change me or my personality or my outlook on life except that i dont judge people | |

^^^ very true you shouldnt judge a book by its cover but If someone like me says 'I reckon tattoos make people look cheap'.... it doesnt mean they think you are cheap... just that you look cheap.... (which is generally what I think)....

If they were just born with certain physical features that are beyond their control, then no, it doesn't reflect their personality. That's just luck of the draw. However, when you get a tattoo, you have made the conscious decision to alter your appearance in accordance to your own tastes. Others might not agree with those tastes, and that is their taste. It doesn't make sense to say, "My tattoo reflects who I am because I chose it and put it there; yet I should not be judged by whatever tattoos may be on my body because I am not responsible for them." You can't have it both ways. I mean- nothing against tattoos, that's not my point. Just own up to the fact that it makes a statement about you. What if someone compliments your tat, are they not complimenting your good taste, and thus judging you positively? | |

They tell me they are into the alternative sub culture I guess in the underground art scene and music scene ie) punk rock it is accepted and common. But I prefer a woman to have natural beauty and not look like some freak from a zoo. | |

I just keep in mind to only get tatts that have meaning for me. all the ones I have have meaning behind them. and as long as they aren't to gaudy, I think Tatts on women just add to the sex appeal. | |

It is all a case of placement. My s/o has some on her feet (not a huge fan of those but they are nice) and a big one (or ones) on her back. I love seeing them! If she wanted to do her legs or arm or even her chest..... I know I would be really disappointed!
Tats on women are hot when it doesn't interfere with your ability to still look "classy" at a black tie event or covering up what men find attractive features.
They can be really sexy when in places in the right areas. Then again this is a personal opinion and it varies from person to person..... This is just my opinion. | |

Hmm......
There are many different ways for people to dress and to decorate their bodies.
When people chose dramatic means to decorate themselves(tattoos and piercings)....they attract attention.
Some positive attention...some negative.
Since people w/ a number of tattoos (and/or piercings) usually don't choose to get subtle decorations or to conceal them, they invite observation..and potentially, questions or criticism.And since tattooing (and piercings) are voluntary acts...it is assumed that the people who undertake these acts understand all they entail.
It's neither logical...nor very mature...to complain when you receive the attention that you so obviously have been seeking.
Or are criticized about something that you volunteered to the public. | |
