| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 3/11/2008 1:22:45 AM | | Action Hero is right about the job market and tattoos. I've been turned down for a few jobs ,which I was over qualified for ,just because some stuck-up-douche couldn't take their eyes off my ink. However, at the same time I think that tats are just another way of expressing the person that lies inside the shell that God gave us. | |

^^^ Well if that 'stuck up douche' couldnt take their eyes off your 'ink' then its very likely that the customer/client wouldnt either.
If you couldnt cover them up, I wouldnt employ you either.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 3/11/2008 6:06:38 AM | | Tats don't bother me as long as they're tastefully done and not in excess. The typical "tramp stamp" that the women like to get has run it's course. I don't have any tats. Not because I don't want one, because I have no clue what I want to get. | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 3/13/2008 1:32:48 PM | I love love love good quality ink ... and original pieces that represent ... no generic flash here ...
I currently have seven designs, each piece represents part of a personal totem ... and want more!!! Each piece is my own design and represents part of my story and, as it is a work in progress, I'll keep getting ink until the story is complete ... all of my pieces are on my back and I doubt that I would ever consider getting a tattoo on any other part of my body. I've seen way too much good art gone bad and wonder why so many people choose to have tattoos on parts of their bodies that are sure to morph over time ...
People often ask me, "why bother getting one at all if you can't see it?"
I don't have to see them ... I feel them ...

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 3/14/2008 1:42:16 PM | They do not cheapen anyone. The only thing that cheapens people is the inability or fear to express themselves and a fear of what others may think!
Tattoos are an individual expression. No one gets them for someone elses reaction. It is pretty shallow to rate a person on what their interpretation of Art is, or what makes them feel good!

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 3/18/2008 9:21:45 PM | | I think tat's are extremely sexy on the right person, I've even seen some sleeves/partial sleeves on some women that looked really good. I've never considered them as body mutilations, only as body art. I believe most people get tattoos to signify something in their life, why would you ever regret that? | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 3/21/2008 7:15:10 PM | | Depends on how cheap they look. If its good work, can be covered when appropriate...fine. Have several myself down the back, but at work I still look like a dependable kinda guy--they are my travel totem and other places I favored. | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 3/22/2008 7:42:41 AM | Don't mind them at all. Though I notice as a guy. It seems to fit to the personalities. Alot of ladies seems to have at least one tattoo. On the ankle. On the lower part of the back. Some like to have them covered up easy. Some don't. As for me I have considered it serveral of times. I even drawn a few pictures but the idea of it being there for life stops me. Maybe one day I'll get one. At 32 I still have plenty of time to decide. Heck my dad said he would even pay for it.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 7/20/2008 7:12:38 AM | | I have a lot of tattoos and I love them. Some people like them and some don't. They aren't for everyone. I personally have only come across one person that didn't like my tattoos, and he was a jerk anyway. For the most part, a lot of men think my tattoos are sexy. I personally like tattoos on men and think they are hot. | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 7/20/2008 7:56:36 AM | | Well I love Tats... I've got 3 myself... and am working on the artwork for my next piece. I have mine in spots that for the most part I can either show them or not show them... depending on the occasssion. (I say that because on is on my neck... and if i have a short hair cut it shows... but when my hair is longer I leave it down at work) | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 7/20/2008 9:42:30 AM | | I think it's a pretty personal choice and we should respect what people think regardless of where they stand. I have a fair bit of ink and I get that it's not everyone's 'thing'. It was my choice to do it though and it has a lot of meaning to me. I don't have names or dates or anything that would be of significance to anyone else... but to me, my tat (it's funny how the bigger they get, the fewer we have) represents my entire life up to this point. | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 7/21/2008 6:37:42 AM | | I have two myself. One is a tribal sleeve on my left arm (shoulder to wrist) which is very pretty but I do hide it a lot. And one above my ass. I am not getting any more. I love them but I am also judged because I am a female. However, I clean up so well you would never know I have them! I do not mind others haveing them as long as you can also clean up when need be. There are far worse things than tattoos out there. So for those of you who dislike them...sorry! They are a part of me. When people see me with tattoos and a John Deere Beenie on riding my horse they assume I am some illiterate fool. If they only knew I had a 4.0 GPA, am VERY smart and make more money than they ahave ever seen! Never, judge a book by its cover. :) | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 7/21/2008 10:21:19 AM | Some people I am sure get a tattoo for some personal reason and probably not too large and probably on a part of their body where they can either show it or cover it up.
People who get large tattoos and tattoos in conspicuous locations clearly have a self identity issue trying to say something about themselves, are simple minded crowd followers or crave attention. Even if someone thinks a tattoo does look good on them it won't last. People who plaster themselves with tattoos will look like one big blue blotch in later years. The ink moves and mixes as your skin keeps renewing itself.
I work with a guy who got tattoos in the military during his 20's and 30's because he thought they made him look tough. He is only 5'-5", still gets angry and combative easily and clearly has little man syndrome. By the time he was in his later 50's his tattoos were just blue blurs, hardly identifiable. He was getting them removed the only way he could find to do it, burned off with a laser, several treatments for each one, on his arms and legs. He was not having a fun time, like mega sunburn that lasted for days. It was out of pocket expense and cost several times what each tattoo would cost to have it put on. He swore at himself and wished he never got them.
It is an advertised lie that clothes or any other adornment make the man (or woman for that matter). Some things make a person look better, some worse and some of them say something about the wearer. These things might make a person "look" different but they do not "make" the the person any different in real character.
When I was a small kid I used to slap bubble gum wrapper temporary tattoos on my arm and I thought I was cool even though they hardly ever turned out clear. I drew on my arm with a pen. For several years until I was about 23, I used to adorn myself with quite a few things because I thought it made me look distinctive or cool or interesting. There weren't any tattoo places around locally, but if there were I would probably have had several, ....and if piercing for men was the thing back then I would have probably looked like I had a fight with a nail gun. One evening back then, I was at a fairly big house party, dressed I thought, as cool as anyone could get, a very distinctive but tasteful red, white and blue striped shirt, very distinctive and expensive, custom sewn, dark brown, suede leather, flared pants, and very fine suede cowboy boots. Truly super cool clothes for that era and yes, I was quite distinctive that evening . A teenage girl quite a bit younger walked by and very nonchalantly with a touch of sarcasm said two words that changed the way I looked at myself ever since, "Nice costume". That was not a costume party and it hit me like a ton of bricks. She saw me and I realized she was absolutely right about what she saw. All I was that night and all I had been with my many previous adornments over the years was just a friggin' decorated clown. I changed and I'll pass, on having any tattoos myself thankyou.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 7/21/2008 11:43:05 AM | I have two, one above each ankle. The first was a mistake and the second was exactly what I wanted (an angel with my son's name). Personally I find tatoos a bit of a turn on, as long as they aren't of naked women. | |

I think they look cheap and rough on women.
They tend to be more used on lower class women. LMFAO ~ welcome to my world ye of the upper crust.
~OT~ Just when I think stereotypical bs is subsiding, I wander in here just to feel lucky. I so love those open-minded folks in my life.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 7/21/2008 7:46:29 PM | well as a woman over 30..with several tattoos..my opinion is this..it was MY choice to have this done to MY body..and i am happy with my body with them..
i find that i usually attract men that dont have any tattoos at all and dont plan on getting any..i think that if the tattoos are a reflection of who u are as a person they can deliver whats on the inside to whats on the outside..
personally i think tattoos are hot..if they are meaningful..if they are loved..then how can u not admire them
just my opinion lol | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 7/21/2008 8:36:12 PM | I'm fine with one or two small, well-placed tattoos. I think they can be sexy, depending on the location and/or design. Several large tattoos don't appeal to me. I don't care for the "tramp stamp", and I absolutely HATE breast tattoos. Yuck.
But I'm not anti-tattoo, though I suppose the fact that I don't approve of all tattoos will classify me as such in the eyes of many.
