| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/1/2009 7:56:16 AM | You post in a forum, it is for all to read....not sure WHO you were directing anything to, nor do I care.
The tat removal business is booming....but not from people who have had tats in the last 5 to 10 years. And MANY are having tats removed, only to get better, more professional ones. (because there is better tattoo methods now, and MORE tattoo artists.) Also, a huge percentage of tattoo removal is NAMES...or bad work. And again, they get RE-inked, instead of attempting a cover up.
I do not care who likes them or not...but when people spout personal statistics or unreasonable information that they are trying to present as opinion...it annoys the fvck out of me.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/1/2009 8:19:46 AM | I'm sorry.. Welcome to reality. No one has yet to answer my questions.
ah well.. nothing against ink bunnies. Just don't care for them.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/1/2009 8:22:10 AM | How about you reread
you said:
The mainstream media pretty much defines what "sexy" is nowdays. Most all women like you "think" they are sexy
So who is this YOU that "thinks" anything? and think does not need to be quoted as if it is a perceived inaccurate thought. My thoughts are not inaccurate any more then yours are
as far as Meagan fox goes - she has a floating head on her forearm and it looks stupid as hell there - Im glad they covered it because it looks like trash.
Tattoo removal business is booming this is correct, However tattoo application business is also booming.
As for this:
Yet you mostly see tats on female inmates, biker chicks, druggies, and lower society types.
Now why is that?
My view is it is the company you keep not the truth in who it is who has them.
Here is the difference here, You are quiet vocal about the personality and character you believe we have based on tattoos. All that is needed is to state No your not attracted to them. But personality assumptions show more on your character then mine

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/1/2009 9:24:23 AM | two or three tattoos on a man I find very sexy..... guess it has something to do with the "bad boy image" or something lol....if he's covered in them though it makes me think he's into pain or something. Then its over kill.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/1/2009 10:46:42 AM | welcome to reality, re-read the last 98 pages. your arguments have all been addressed prior, without cutting and pasting from the past pages, you can go through them if you really care about those refuting your remarks.
simply put, you don't like tattoos, daveincarson; but thinking that tattoos aren't cool or sexy is simply incorrect.
i listed previously A-list stars who either date or have tattoos; now, you might think Johnny Depp or Sean Penn aren't handsome, but they seem to do well with ladies. Angelina Jolie is not exactly ugly. Jon Mayer seems to be doing ok and he has a nice sleeve of japanese work now.
The fashion industry will always want 'perfect' airbrushed anorexic porcelain manequins.
If you consult victorias secret catalogues to make up your own mind as to what is sexy, good for you. I look at other things. If women only looked at mens health to find potential mates, 99% of men would be out of luck. Lets not have such lofty expectations that we no longer realize that the images we are presented are false, fabricated, and designed to make us feel guilty to keep buying and rejecting each other because its never good enough.
Just as not all women are size o's and 6ft tall, and mind you, 16YEARS OLD,) from the czech republic; not all women are gonna fit your paradigm as to what sexy is. But thinking that others are uglyand not succesful is just perposterious if someone has tattoos. Its just not true. I am not attracted to certain qualities; but if I equate what I don't find attractive with being stupid or of lower class then I am just being a moron.
This topic is becoming a broken record; it skips on a scratch and goes right back to beginning of the song. Same lyrics over and over again.
What can be said is that different people have different perspectives based on how you were raised, what you grew up around, and what sort of people you surround yourself with now. Try basing your view of the world from your knowledge acquired through real life rather than the media telling you what to buy/think/ and look like. If I only went by tv/magazines I would have a close-minded impression of the world as well.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/1/2009 7:25:56 PM | | I guess most Aussies are alot less judgemental of other people's differances because I can't imagine anyone treating someone badly because they have a few tattoos on them. Live and let live. | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/1/2009 7:46:49 PM | My (beautifully inked) daughter and I were buying her bridal magazines today (newly engaged!) and I thought of this thread and skimmed across the rack to see how many showed peeps with ink....and there were actually QUITE A FEW, and I did not even count the tat mags! LOL And that Esquire mag....Meagan Fox did not even look hot in the pic! But her outfit was something that does not show her ink...period. Not EVERY cover is about skimpy clothing. (Eminems on TWO mags, with his ink showing...) | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/2/2009 8:48:00 AM | Here's a different way of looking at tattoos. I got this from post off of one of my favorite blogs. Please note...the story is not about me or by me..I just thought it might put a different persepective on all the What will the tats look like when you are old? arguments. :)
A neat story (to me, at least): before my mother and I went to get our sunshines - the first ink for us both - she was in the ER for her job, talking with an elderly woman who had been brought in. The woman needed help changing into her johnny, and thus it was that my mother discovered a very elaborate, gorgeous, flowers-and-butterflies themed tattoo covering much of her torso.
You couldn't have seen it when the woman was dressed, and the rest of her looked quite proper and anti-tattoo-ish.
My mother asked about it, and the woman said, "Well, when I was in my 70s, my husband spent weeks in a nursing home before he died. That whole time, I saw how the staff tended to treat him like he was just another piece of furniture in the room. Some people were great, but many barely bothered to learn his name and certainly never bothered to learn anything about his personality or his life.
"After he died, I decided that I wasn't going to be just another old person in a home or a hospital somewhere - I wanted to stand out somehow, to remind them that I lived before I came there. So I got this tattoo just after I turned 75, and I have never regretted it for a moment."
|
| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/2/2009 11:25:21 AM | if you get a tattoo at 75 and then say you never regreted it for a moment, thats nothing different than a 18 yr old getting a tattoo and saying three weeks later they dont regret it?
if/when i reach 75 i hope i have other things to worry about than how my skin looks. Regardless, anyone who has seen tattoos on older people who have had them for 30-40 years knows that they age fine if tattooed well. as fine as you take care of yourself. if your the type of person who bakes in the sun every day, never mind the tattoos... your gonna look like a used suitcase.
what year is this? did the last 100 years in pop culture not happen? I must live in a strange town where being tattooed is normal. And when I travel, whether that be to NYC or Europe, it must be a strange strange world too in that most people are oblivious to me being heavily tattooed. Its not much of an issue nor a end of the world catastrophe when a woman (good HEAVENS NOOOOOOOO!) has a tattoo or full sleeves...
of course, when i drive through a small town I get stared at; maybe I need to start realizing that they are in the twilight zone and look at everything as a challenge to such a seculiar, enclosed, controlled environment. And somehow, I or god forbid a woman threatens that sterile, white picket world with tattoos. And just possibly, thats why some of us look the way we do. Because we want to attract and live a different way from being mundane and plain. Which is possible via being tattooed or not, I am not so egotistical to think that being tattooed makes me 'special.'
Thus, I am a bit disheartened by those who are so adverse to anything different. What a boring way to go through life; its like only surrounding yourself with people of the same race or style. Who exactly is trying to be like a prisoner? Me for differientiating myself from a pack or you who wants everyone to look/act/feel the same?
I am sure you wouldn't want someone like me for a friend, or near your daughter, or living in your community. Because I am 'ugly' or somehow disfigured. A self-chosen leper. So be it, your opinion will keep you safe from having me in your life. But your opinion doesn't give you power over us or any other group you want to subjugate to your lunacy and bigoted narrow viewpoint in terms of us pursuing happiness either. When you shout out insults and insinuate a class war, don't think that they won't be met with furious vengeance. As they should be.

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/2/2009 12:53:05 PM | I've now has my tattoos (throat and arm) for a year and a half, and I never anticipated the great POSITIVE reaction I have received.
When I'm dressed up with a collar, people can barely see the dolphin fin on my throat and come over and ask about it. Small kids recognize it and want to touch it.
When I wear a tshirt the dolphin tail on my arm is partically visible, and again people ask about it and wnt to touch it. Some women just touch it, which gives me license to touch THEM in return :)
|
| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/2/2009 2:15:15 PM | gotfin, it seems like a bit of your identity might be revolved around your dolphin tail(s). Everyone kinda creates their own persona, and if thats who you are more power to you!
BUT, just because a woman touches a tattoo, I can guarantee you that doesn't give you license to touch them in return. Thats a good way to get arrested. In fact, I wouldn't let anyone touch me without my permission first. Ever.
While I am not a spelling bee champ, 'I've now has my tattoos' doesn't speak well for people with tattoos being semi-intelligent. Raise the bar mate! Please? Its bad enough that most here think tattooed people are of a lower genetic order....

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/2/2009 3:16:07 PM | | Same here. Though I dont do drawing but I do like tattoo art, just not on me. I dont mind it much on a partner, but it gets annoying everytime because once you get the first one, you'll want to get more and next thing you know you're all covered up somehow. | |

your lunacy and bigoted narrow viewpoint
Bigoted???? Holy crap! Narrow viewpoint? Because it doesn't agree with YOURS, it's narrow? Now I'm sorry I even read most of your post!

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/4/2009 7:49:27 AM | I heard of a woman that had a map of CANADA tattooed on her backside.. and every time she bent over Quebec separated.... | |

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/4/2009 11:06:30 AM | hardworker12, my comments about narrow bigoted viewpoints are in reference to not when someone finds tattoos unnattractive; if you read my posts prior it refers to those who think people with tattoos should somehow be relegated to the unemployment line and aren't equal.
i was called lower class and trash previously; so its in response to that viewpoint.
if I said that anyone with a mustache is a criminal, trash, lower class and will never find a job nor would I hire such a person, that would be quite bigoted and IGNORANT. that was what i am refering to.
if someone thinks tattoos are ugly or stupid; thats an opinion. when someone tries to imply that i or anyone else is less than or worth little to society, thats when i get defensive as does any other person of that particular culture/sect?
thats all.
sorry if you read my post and found it too wordy.
just post TL: DR (too long, didnt read.)
I see a few TS: DR in here as well. (too short, didnt read.)

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/4/2009 3:02:00 PM | To the Original Poster... I've seen some sexy tatoo's on women and I've seen some that I don't deem as my cup of tea but thier cup of tea is still a cup of tea none the less. I don't have any tat's but I'm not opposed to them either.
This forum has me seriously considering get one though. But I'm torn between 2 different one's. I either want a $100.00 bill tattoo'ed on my man hood or a Rooster hanging from a rope on my calf.
Reason: What woman do you know that won't blow a $100.00 bill and I would love to show a woman my C O * K hanging below my knee... LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

| what is everyones opin on tattoos? Posted: 6/4/2009 3:21:00 PM | Most of us know that smoking is generally a 'group conformity habit'/ WEAK individualism, that was developed in our adolescence yet we all know of the HEALTH RISKS and most agree how STUPID it is to even take up the unhealthy and EXPENSIVE habit!
In other words smokers are stupid!
And when it comes to TATOOS the chance of Blood disorders and diseases goes way up!
And from a Christian or Jewish standpoint it is classified as PAGAEN and definitely NOT a Godly practice!
So when I see someone with Tatoos I think "Where is this person's SPIRITUALITY"?
It's like being a Druggie or Smoker, one wonders what kind of mind they have as well as notices the Lack of Biblical literacy in the said individual!
And isn't it VERY EXPENSIVE to remove?????
