| Wrist bands / glow bracelets, do you want them? Posted: 2/21/2009 9:05:09 PM | The bracelets work... if you don't like them...then don't wear them. If you want to paint a big Single and Looking sign on your forehead do it.
If you not a social animal...well this might be the first step to feel included and one of the kewl kids with your matching bracelet... a souvenier of your adventures in POF dating scene.
don't want to kill the environment?...well I say use and reuse the existing bracelets...then go for the temporary tattoo on the forehead when they run out.
I have plenty of nifty ideas...this is how I spend my Sat nights...thinking..

| Wrist bands / glow bracelets, do you want them? Posted: 2/22/2009 6:45:23 AM | No one reimburses the hosts for the glo-bracelets ... or anything else. Just part of the cost of being a host... BUT I like the look and the feel when looking across a venue and seeing the POFers standing out from the general riff raff with a simple glowing mark... also makes the "Are you on POF?" question one you don't have to ask.... makes us kinda special... BUT if you don't wanna wear one, you don't have to... BUT I like having the option and if hosts don't have them the option is not there,

disposal bin at the door for guests to dispose of their bracelet. This would also demonstrate POF's proactive green position.
Another idea is to have the hosts take the first names or initials of people that enter the establishment and write on a post-it-note with at least 7 things or more they are passionate about. During the first 2 hours or so have individuals find people with same outlook and write names down. The note is entered into a barrel and in the third hour ‘goofy prizes’ (taken by donation are drawn. Good way to break the ice with time to introduce selves in a ‘environmentally friendly’ way.

Kind of bit personalized, BUT, yacan take it with you, to whatever POF event that you went to.
It may cost a few buck, but, not too many things are free, with in reason.

Good one, PapaG.
Besides, what is such a BIG deal of wearing a little glowing bracelet.
The sinple little things that SOME people will get soooooooooooooo finiky on, GOOD LORD.
Make the bracelets availabe, and leave the option availabe to people who do not want to wear them, however make them available to the people who want to wear them.
Good lord, have we not beat a dead horse enough on this subject already??????????

PEOPLE, please do not ASSUME so much
It is up to the host to ask the venue top pay for the glow bands and I found the venue will be happy to do so. No host is expected by POF or any one else incur expenses .
There really are no other expenses for the dance events other than time answering questions from fishies and going to the venue spending time at the event.

| Wrist bands / glow bracelets, do you want them? Posted: 2/22/2009 4:50:56 PM | "So what about those Diamond tennis bracelets ???? I'm sure you will get more ladies out to the events ?"
Those are juuuuuuuuuuuuuuust a little too much money to spend on, thats IF, the hosts have to buy the bracelets in the first place.
Otherwise, I am sure that the hosts would not object to you buying them yourselves, if you so care to wear them.

| Wrist bands / glow bracelets, do you want them? Posted: 2/22/2009 5:35:14 PM | y should a host absorb the cost of hosting an event bad enuf hosting an event takes time, energy and effort ... never mind the stress. I was FORCED to wear a bracelet last night so the venue could identify who was a fish and not. Jeez.. u'd think u pple would know me by now! | |

The hosts should NOT be paying for these things !!! As Mountain Lion stated the venue will supply the items to accommodate the plenty of fish party.
That is why i am saying we should request the Venue supply diamond tennis bracelets rather than glow bracelets. I am quite sure they are better for the environment and most women fish would gladly wear one if they get to keep it !

| Wrist bands / glow bracelets, do you want them? Posted: 2/22/2009 6:09:23 PM | Neither the host, or the venue, can afford the costs of the diamond tennis bracelets.
If ya want one, then well, your going to have to purchase them yourselves, rather then rely on the host or the venue.
Sam, yes, we all know who you are, hover, new people who are coming to thses event who don't know you, won't beable to identify who you are.
I just cannot fathom, what the big ordeal is all about wearing the glow bracelet.
Does it bother some people that much, to wear one for a couple of hours or so.
It is not like it is a permanant attachment to your wrist, and once the event is over, or when your want to leave, after having a night of fun, entertainment, and meeting new people, who can identify you from the glow wrist band, and meeting old friends.
Just take the thing off then.
NO big deal.
Such a big ordeal, out of such a small item to wear.
I gladly wear them, so that I can be recognized by not only new people, but, some of the people that I do know.
And I have NO PROBLEM, wearing it, either, none what so ever.
So, message to all you hosts, and hostesses, keep them glow bands available, and IF, someone does not want to wear them, then let them in, however, make them available for the people who want to wear them.

but..are you willing to wear a glow in the dark g-string and do the Hokey Pokey and turn yourself about?

Naaaaaa, just on the wrist, IF, anyplace else, it will be on a belt loop, or a button hole in a shirt, but not a dark g-string, besides, I have no use for a dark g-string, not my style.
And I DO NOT, need a diamond tennis wristband either.
All that expense, and for WHAT?????????
To be identified, HUH.
A glow wristband will do the trick instead, and just as if not more effective, at no, or little price to the Host, or veune!!!!!!!!

| Wrist bands / glow bracelets, do you want them? Posted: 2/22/2009 9:16:37 PM | Insert " just trying to have fun lighten up icon here" .......... Do ya really think I'm serious about the venue providing Diamond tennis bracelets ? Maybe they could hand out brains and senses of humour those fish that are lacking.
Geez people they are wristbands for god's sake. A polite no thank you to the host will do if you are so friggen offended.
Or here is an even more brilliant idea... host your own damn event and Do NOT hand out wristbands....... Hosting POF events is a lot of work. The reward is seeing a bunch of people out enjoying themselves and also making lots of new friends. These POF hosts and Hostesses do it out of the goodness of their hearts. They are not compensated financially. Please try to remember that when bitching and complaining about events and how they should be run. If you have such great ideas become a host or hostess yourself. we can always use more people willing to give up their time and energy.

Ahhhh, amazing what a couple of asprins, and a good nights sleep will do to releive a headache from all that.^^^^^^^^^^^
Anyhow, bracelets, glow bracelets particularly are helpful, and have been used for sometime now, however, it is still up to the host, and hostess to decide if they are going to be used.

| Wrist bands / glow bracelets, do you want them? Posted: 2/25/2009 6:19:13 AM | are LED bracelets as toxic? ones with hearing aid sized batteries? ones that use rechargable aa's?
would a t-shirt be non-toxic? what if a member couldn't afford one?
how do we tell POF members from scammers looking to leave us while footing their bills?

Now there's an idea, and a good one at that, sageb1.
LED bracelets, or better still, how about, if the watch manufactures, including Timex could make and sell their watches that has different flashing colors of LED's all in one unit, at an affotable price it would be a good way, for them to use as a marketing tool to sell their products.
At the same time, it would also be a good way to be identified at POF events, and a colorful way to keep track of time at the same time.
Only drawback, is that you would have to buy it yourself, or the alternative, of finding out who wants one of these types of watches, by getting their names and purchase them in volume sales units, to get a reduced price on them.
Either which way, it would be a colorful way, of being identified at a POF event, while keeping track of time.
Lets see what others have to say, on such an item.
