I mean proper man hairs thats grow alone. If I make it to 80 will they all meet up? Yup, legs and all. Which is why you always see old peasant women riding donkeys. They're all matted up and cant walk.

Have theory that I am growing my own fur coat. It will be splendidly white if I reach 80 and I won't have to bother about clothes anymore. Only one problem, on which side to I part the sprouting locks?
|
| How do you really feel about getting old? Posted: 5/15/2009 5:11:34 AM | Actually your hair gets thinner after menopause but maybe thats because its spreading out all over.
on which side to I part the sprouting locks? You'll qualify for a gopher by then so you can tramp it and let the wind decide.

Hmm never had a parting on my bum before....interesting look....sparcely but systematically hairy old hag last seen in a goofer hooning down the high street giving the younguns the old brown eye mooning. Yup I'll have that haircut and can you die it purple with a semi permanent wave

You'll no doubt get run in by the (dumbfounded) coppers but you can plead senility.
|
| How do you really feel about getting old? Posted: 5/15/2009 6:23:24 PM | yeah Have only been arrested once...was full of red wine and FURY and forty (dangerous age).....poor coppers lol. Got off under section 23...accidental assault of copper with knickers during strip search.....chose the wrong woman to try and humiliate, I did the old stripper technique (no never been one professionally) and threw them between my legs giving them the old brown eye. So can you imagine what I would be like at 80....man am I looking forward to that | |

| How do you really feel about getting old? Posted: 5/16/2009 4:19:44 PM | I love it .. I hear my friends talk about how they wish they were 18 etc .. damn it mate .. I was an insecure loose cannon at 18 theres no way in hell I would want to go back to that age .. my 20s were marriage/kids/failed marriage/feeling like crap ... now Im knocking on 32 .. Im independant know what I want .. alot more accepting .. look better than I did in my 20s LOL goal orientated .. hell getting older rocks .. cant wait til my 40s .. kids will be older .. Ill probaly be more kinkier .. and look even better ... Iv never had an issue with my age ..
Anti-aging secrets .. I can't be effed with wasting money on the next big thing for looking younger .. what I have found when comparing myself from 20s to 30s is I looked older in my 20s because I was alot more stressed, worried and insecure .. so I guess my secret is being alot more comfortable in my own skin and accepting makes me look younger .. plus the normal eat well drink lots of water .. I still need to make improvements to my lifestyle but its definitely happening

| How do you really feel about getting old? Posted: 5/16/2009 8:39:01 PM | Unlike 4 out of 5 women here in PoF that are all "...young for their age ..." i have to actually do something to get younger.
oh for the joys of over exposed pics. I have looked much older than my true age for many years now. Gave up dying my hair last year cos want to see it's real colour..woohoo forgot it was reddish mouse. I dig the white not grey hairs....am going to be white haired hag probably with very few teeth. Could cry about it all but I did this to myself along with a bit of help from time....hard time seems to have been visiting more often that good time...but we do meet occasionally. Noticed when I fell in love some three years ago that the years just dropped off me...had one friend ask if I had had minor plastic surgery...har har playing doctors and nurses is obviously good for me. Getting older, hell tis just like growing up, getting taller, curvier (or in my case still waiting God...think you forgot some bits ya parsimonious **stard) only it is in reverse....sheesh imagine how bored you would be with the same old body year after year. The idea of getting plumper appeals to me...hasn't happened yet...am still waiting god!!!
Gratitude is correct. I would be almost 150 and a three quarters by now unless I made a point of practising gratitude every day...it softens everything.

| How do you really feel about getting old? Posted: 5/16/2009 9:41:44 PM | KontraSeptic, 40 is no-mans land as far as dating is concerned, your too old for the youngens, and too young for the oldies....41 seems okay so far though....when I get to 80 Ill start thinking Im on the down hill run, besides I think I managed to pickle my self pretty well when I was younger
Just remember your only as old as the person your feeling

Just remember your only as old as the person your feeling Making a mental note to myself to ensure next grope victim is far, far younger then me.
I have to agree somewhat with the above though, 40ish does seem to be a strange dating age. The really young and silly boys want you and the really old and dirty men want you but most of the ones around the same age seem to be off chasing far younger skirt.
Thank god for chloroform I say...............

| How do you really feel about getting old? Posted: 5/17/2009 1:22:20 AM | Im totally shocked Hilly, I never meant it like that at all oh wait I seem to remember, some twisted evil thought.....Actually funnily enough, my 40th birthday my present was the end of a relationship, and 3 days after my last birthday the next date, co-incidence I think not....pfft young skirt, I may be shallow but Im not that shallow, sometimes I can even be rather deep. | |

| How do you really feel about getting old? Posted: 5/20/2009 6:21:48 AM | don't smoke, eat well, and get excercise. oh, and have lots of wild sex.
first and foremost, keep an open mind. i personally feel sexier at a 44 year old than i ever did when i was a girl....and i like myself a whole lot better.

| How do you really feel about getting old? Posted: 5/20/2009 7:14:55 PM | what is old?? to a 5 yo its 10, to a 10 yo its 18, to a 18yo its 30, to a 30yo its 60, to a 60yo its 80, to an 80yo - what's the question again??
the simple benefit of getting older is that you at least know u have been guaranteed living for however many yrs it is that you have been alive, whereas younger people dont have such guarantees that they will make it your current age, and therefore may not share in all the experiences you have managed to aschieve. it can only be a positive thing.

| How do you really feel about getting old? Posted: 5/21/2009 5:05:16 AM | Old is how I felt today when my colleague sitting next to me whipped out his ipod and said "I'll send you an email" and I'm saying silly things like "will that work in here?" and "does it really send emails?"
I'm usually the one they ask to fix computer problems......and now I've exposed myself as the baby boomer that I am. Oh well, I guess there are worse ways to expose yourself??
He still doesn't know , old as he is , what he's looking for
Your brother has 9 kids? I know what he's looking for - he's looking for a little peace and quiet - and the car keys so he can get to the dammed chemist for a container load of condoms!

| How do you really feel about getting old? Posted: 5/21/2009 5:38:34 AM | old?.. mmmm?
yes the years are starting to add up... when I think of my friends that aren't here to consider the same question....
getting older means you have more memories more "souls" to carry onboard... more days left to live for those who aren't here to enjoy the times... whatever we're given... or try to enjoy the times without their presence...
I was lucky enough to be able to travel a few times and see over 30 countries/cultures.. and am not sitting here wishing about all the things I'd like to do or see... I managed to do them long the way.... many of my peers I speak to have never did the travel thing and have those thoughts of far off places they'd like to go.... when they get the time... retire etc...
I heard that guff from my Dads generation .. dreaming of the things they would do in retirement.... I thought.. what if you get to retirement and you haven't got the fitness/wherewithall to do those damed adventures... bugger that! I thought.. I'm going to do the dreams along the way when I'm fit and well... and sitting here feeling some old injuries and bones... I'm glad I did what I did.. when I did it.. I'd hate to be trying to repeat those adventures at this age... though I'm sure I could still think of a few more suitable adventures to atempt...
I've still got time I think... and the wherewithall....

| How do you really feel about getting old? Posted: 5/21/2009 3:29:38 PM | time is the only thing you cant save till later to be used when you want it, there's only one answer to the aging problem,it stinks lol | |

| How do you really feel about getting old? Posted: 5/22/2009 12:35:57 AM | Hi All................
Having just passed my 60th birthday, I'm amazed I'm still here at all let alone being on a 'dating' site, however, I still ride my 1250cc Motorbike ( with a bit of added extra power !!! ) and am still happy most of the young'uns and the middle-aged are still trying to keep up, but thats another story !!!
When I look through the female profiles, I select an age range of 50 to 62 which I think is right for a guy my age !!! I then look at profiles that interest me, then I look further and guess what !!! It would appear that the majority of women that are 50 something are looking for guys that are 40 something !!!
Next problem is: I am 5'10" in the old money, however, the above female profiles are stating their partners height preference should be somewhere around 8" taller than they are ( After all you have to take in the fact they need to wear high heels and still want to look up to their guy )
Therefore, if I use those basic statistics to find a woman that might be interested in me, It would appear I need to be looking at 70+ year old Dwarves. Then I ask myself, OK, how many 70+ year old women want to pillion on a reasonably quick motorbike ???
ANSWER:............................... NONE

| How do you really feel about getting old? Posted: 5/26/2009 2:57:11 AM | Oh gosh I am the 8th of 9 children. My parents were in their 40's when they had me. They only passed away last 3-4 years in their late 80's. I have brother and sister old enough to be my parents.. Sorry they not ..not adopted.. Don't have issues with ageing.. maybe that differing perspective parents gave me..When at school everyone thought my parents were my grandparents. I actually like being the age I am and the knowledge I have accumulated. Would not like like to be young again unless I could take the knowledge with me..Our society and media fixates on youth and it is pretty scary.. I deal with teenagers every day as a high school teacher and I do my best to undo this ridiculous youth fixation.. as we all grow old.......And i get on so well with all the kids at school cause I am not an old fart.. (So the kids tell me)..Maybe attitude to life and non acceptance of perpetrading this youth fixation is the answer.. To be honest anyone fixated on youth is seriously lacking in substance and I wouldn't want anything to do with them...........And hey I look so much better then females half my age..and am half the size of females half my age......... | How do you really feel about getting old? Posted: 10/10/2009 12:21:00 AM | Pretty crap .....
I was at a pub in the city last weekend with another forumite. We were standing minding our own business, drinking really expensive but really crap wine when a group of young blokes commented "look at those old birds over there".......in voices just loud enough to guarantee we would hear......**stards.
Getting old sucks big time!

| How do you really feel about getting old? Posted: 10/10/2009 12:49:05 AM | ^^^ I am sure that they could not have been talking about you. They had probable had so much to drink that their vision was blurred and they were seeing the other forumite twice. If you are going to chaperon outings for the elderly then I am afraid that these kind of things are going to happen. | |
