Posted: 12/19/2008 12:50:52 AM | Well ... If you can give a really good, deeply soothing neck rub, and be truly patient, the experience for both partners can be amazingly intimate. If gagging occurs, she's way too tense and you should be doing her.
If she finds the idea offensive, or finds you offensive, or believes she'd be degraded by opening up in that way, her unwillingness isn't likely to change. If she makes an excuse about gagging, that's most likely a "polite" way of saying no.
A woman who wants to participate and enjoy will learn how, and one who doesn't, won't. If she's willing to do that with you, you won't have to do a thing except let her figure it out for herself. Tips and suggestions can be welcome, but usually aren't.

Posted: 12/19/2008 6:09:48 PM | Definitely something that can be learned. Easier for some than others. I personally don't have a gag reflex, however this doesn't mean I was able to take a guy all in at first. Angle is key!
- Practice practice practice!
- Breathe through nose - IMPORTANT!
- try swallowing it, instead of forcing it down
- Angle of the throat is key (kind of have to tilt your head back...so it can go down the throat)
Easiest and most natural way to get the right angle is for the woman to be lying on her back on the bed with her head hanging off while the guy is standing.
IMO - Any woman who truly enjoys giving head will want to learn how to do this. Will make you stand out from all the other BJs. And your man will TRULY enjoy the feel of it as well as the look.

OP- to help answer your question, the "gag reflex" is actually a complicated safety mechanism your body has worked out to prevent you from aspirating liquid or solid food into your trachea and subsequently lungs. It is mediated by both voluntary and involuntary muscles in your larynx. It is controlled mainly by two cranial nerves - cranial nerves 9 and partially by the vagus nerve (cranial nerve 10). It may also have something to do with the feeling of being suffocated as the trachea can be occluded by the penis thus inhibiting air flow. In the extreme, people who suffer brain stem strokes can lose their gag reflex and require tube feedings directly into their stomachs so as to prevent aspiration. In my expreience, girls can inhibit this reflex to a degree. My last girlfriend told me she concentrated on breathing through her nose and was able to take me deeper in her throat.
