The first time I tried it not only did i not like it, but i was pretty horrible at it. But after an almost eight year relationship in which we tried all sorts of fun things, I got much better at it and, without sounding like a total whore, have developed a love for it. I find, as other women have said, if you act like you're swallowing and focus on that as it's going down your throat most of the time it works out perfectly. Actually, no. There'd be much more competition if this were true. That means if every woman could do it, then a guy would be less likely to put up with the one he's with never-mind putting her *up on a pedestal* just because she can repeatedly swallow and regurgitate a whole summer sausage. Much of what you say makes sense and bears thinkning about. The history of women's oppression is what it is. However, the only thing demeaning about any nonviolent sexual act among consenting adults is how it has been constructed. Our prevailing culture assumes human beings to be evil by nature, so giving and receiving pleasure for its own sake is to be discouraged by any and all means. By labelling such acts as "demeaning," you perpetuate the oppression of both women and men.

Are you saying that men should and do demean themselves by pleasing women orally? Or is it only demeaning when women do it for men? Or are you saying that turnabout is fair play and it's men's turn to be overtly oppressed (instead of simply stripped of our emotionality by every means possible and then regarded as pigs after the damage has been done to us).
The only men who regard sexual favors that have been freely given as demeaning are men who have already been demeaned--first by conventional ideology and later by supposed alternatives that still hold out the idea that men are essentially evil and need to be controlled. In some countries, the way they control the men is by forcing all the women to wear bags over their heads.
Personally, I would much prefer to live in a world where all the women were regarded as equal partners in society with all the men, and where we all affirmed the dignity of each other--especially when one or the other is in a vulnerable position. --not to mention when both take the risk of being vulnerable with each other.
As with so many things, when men make something out to be demeaning, it is because their desire to passively receive pleasure makes them vulnerable. And so they displace their shame over such "weakness" onto the very person who pleases them. How screwed up is that? And how screwed up must a person be if that is the best he can do and can't openly feel or acknowledge simple gratitude? And why, as a society, do we work so hard to screw up our male children so badly? And why do so many old-school feminists stop their critique of oppression as soon as they identify male chauvanism rather than looking into what drives it? | |

the head hanging over the bed is a good trick......
when I was first learning to deep throat.....I was told this by a g/f......
"try acting like your swallowing something when his dik is right there at your "gag" spot."
and it worked! it relaxes your throat and has more of a natural feeling going into your throat.
I no longer have to conciously do this......unless I'm with a "blessed" man
