"The camera just adds about 5-10 lbs ALL over. Ones that had a nice, full face or a small, but comfortable looking chest, were actually flat/caved in chested...lol and their face was kinda...sucked in under their cheek bones."

Where do you look for dates....the graveyard?

The ‘fishing pole’ metaphor aside for a moment, the ones that CRACK me up…. say they are AVERAGE and are sporting beer bellies and invariably are ‘posed’ in front of their corvettes! Do they think the corvette is going to DISTRACT me????

Now put yourself in front of a Porsche and I MIGHT overlook the beer belly! (JUST KIDDING).

I see both sides and I believe the issue is because in today's world that is the "perceived average". Is this issue any different than the many that post pics that are ten years old?
I have one pic a year old and another about 18 months, alot can change in a few months let alone a few years.

I think people like to feel good about themselves and are also trying to "sell" themselves which adds to this issue.

AGREE! Afterall, a profile is a 'marketing' piece! Not unlike most marketing ads that put the REAL story in 'small print'!

Maybe we need to add a 'disclaimer' field to the profile?????

Actually, it might be better to stand BEHIND the Porsche so only the face and shoulders show!

I used to really be into sports cars over the years and the saying used to be "There is nothing wrong with a Porsche except the a$$hole that usually drives one."

A few months ago, my neighbor and I were discussing that it seems time for me to get a new car and he asked if was planning to get another Corvette since I had one stolen out of my driveway a few years ago. I told him no and that if I was to go the sports car route again I would probably want a Ferrari. He then made a great point by saying, "Bob, if you get a Ferrari, you will love the car and hate the people that come with it." I think he is sooooo right.

I MUST concede that there is a lot of TRUTH to that statement! I also have to remind myself that the 'agnostic psychiatrist' that I lived with, drove a Porsche...........and look where THAT got me! *smile*

However my 'fairytale ending' would include a Porsche! (Whoops - WRONG thread again)

he couldnt be more wrong.

while there are definetly a few stuck up yuppie types that drive exotic cars, the majority of people who continue to use that stereotype typically have never spent much time with anyone who drives those sort of cars and are speaking from a lack of experience (and sometimes jealousy).

i dont own one, but im a car enthusiast and goto quite a lot of meets and get togethers with other car guys (and gals) , and many of them drive all sorts of exotic cars and are simply very nice, friendly people that enjoy a great hobby. im certainly not in their elevated income bracket or social circle, but most of them ive met dont hesitate for a second to engage in a friendly discussion.

but the 1 ***hole exotic car owner with a bad attitude probably gets more attention than the other 49 nice owners that barely get noticed.

BTW, i dont really lump the porsche into the "exotic" category, since they have many many lower end models thats are really quite inexpensive now, theyve become just like a benz or bmw, anyone can own one.
exotic would mean something like ferrari, lamborghini, aston martin and up.

I have owned some pretty nice cars in my time including an '81 308GTS, and a '92 NSX... and many others.

I will say that most every exotic car owner I've known have been extremely nice people. I will also say that a car like that attracts "users" like no other.

An illustration: Almost two years ago a buddy of mine from the gym and I were talking about how shallow south FL is. I just couldnt believe some of his examples. So he demonstrated. Friday night we went to the Blue Martini at the Galleria in Ft. Lauderdale in his Jaguar XK8. We pulled up to valet, got out and walked right by a trove of trophy babes and not a one looked at us. The following Friday we went back to that same club at the same time and again pulled up to valet. This time we were in his lamborghini. This time that same bevy of trophy babes were all over us... one I noticed was wearing the exact same dress she had on the week before.

I must also say, when I owned my NSX back in the 90's (pre-divorce LOL) I couldnt walk from the car to a store or back without getting hit on. That car attracted women like bees to a flower.

So Wanna, it might just be a good investment! You wont get any keepers but you will certainly have fun on the catch and release program!

And keeping with the OPs thread here... you could even get a status tag that said "pornstar"!

Mr Frog, I'm sure you know me well enough by now to know that catch and release simply is of no interest to me. What my neighbor meant was that, of course, what you may acquire in the future, your current friends will continue to be your friends. On the other hand, once you acquire the exotic toy, no matter what it is, you just can't know the motives behind new acquaintances. Some may be the users you refer to and you may not figure it out until it's too late. I'm having enough trouble figuring out the female fishies without further complicating the process.

I'll chose to be like another guy I knew that had two cars - a 2 year old white Rolls Royce and a 1972 Cutlass (not restored). Whenever he went to clubs trying to meet women he drove the 1972 Oldsmobile. After a while, if there seemed to be a future to the relationship. he made the terrible confession that he really wasn't what he seemed to be. His descriptions of their reactions were hilarious.

Hey C! Nice seeing you! Haven't you heard? The gas mizers are the new babe magnets! It shows you are eco friendly and reveals your sensitive side!

Yep, which is why I couldn't resist throwing that out there!

Average size for men - I think this counts: There is a guy on a dating site (might be POF, might be another one I hang out on) that owns a multi-million dollar mansion in the swankiest part of Palm Beach. When he goes on coffee dates he goes in an old pick-up truck. He dates at Olive Garden etc. When he finally takes them back to his "place" he takes them to the apartment above the garage. Some women (most) ask him who lives in the big house and he says "some rich bachelor" and if they ask for an introduction (even jokingly) he takes them home right after dinner. It's not until he has passed the first round of sex milestone with no reference made to the big house that he confesses. He does this by inviting them to dinner and tells them to come to the big house and to dress nicely. When they arrive they are always surprised. The inevitable question of why didnt you invite me here first is always answered by "there was some remodeling work going on" (and there most always is).

Now thats an average size for a man!

You ALL make some valid points! BUT to Pete's (above), I am reminded of when this unkempt man driving a beat-up old stationwagon came to look at one of my 'spec' houses and my real estate agent turned to me and said 'tire kicker don't pay any attention to him'!! For some reason, I decided to kind of push my agent aside and engage this guy in a conversation. LONG story short, he purchased my 2.1 million dollar spec house!

Just goes to SHOW....you can't judge a MAN by his car!!

BUT.......(again being shallow)......I probably wouldn't DATE him.......but I WOULD take his check!!!!

A lot of people are under that same misconception... not sure why but they are...

but now I'm starting to wonder.
We all go through that... us old timers call it the sanity check phase. Once you pass that you will try another site and realize that people actually DO respond to emails and actually do meet face to face and then, finally, you will conclude this is simply an entertainment site.

And at that point you find happiness!

And you will understand that an averaged size man that actually responds is OK!

Well, I'm in Winter Mode right now (even though it is Florida)

Usually after the middle of Fall I'll enjoy myself as far as food is concerned. Then when its edging back toward Summer I don't indulge so much.

Right now I'm 6' 210lbs 46 chest 36 waist
In the Summer I'm usually 190lbs with a 34 waist
In the Spring and Fall I'm 200lbs

I have a round face and not photogenic so people usually think I'm a chubby guy in my pictures, and then they realize I'm not in person.

That being said, I've ranged from 220lbs (2 week vacation in Europe trying as many different cuisines as possible) to 170lbs (1 month vacation in India in the middle of Summer sweating my ass off eating Spicy Curries) and I have to say that only when I reach those extremes is when I look drastically different.

However, as long as you keep healthy I don't think it really matters. Unless you are noticeably not taking care of yourself its more the way you present yourself.

Confidence and Intelligence are some of the first things I notice when I'm talking to a woman. I prefer someone who has a wide range of interests and who can keep a conversation going. I've made tons of friends who are all different varieties of body types. It's more about who you are, as long as you try to stay healthy.

More accurately I think the average is closer to 16.

I'm 6'3" 225#
It's my favorite size.....so, is it size 16?

It's a serious question because I never shop for men clothes, neither I asked them about the size...I just know what size I like to see
