| Average size for MEN - Women’s TURN Posted: 1/20/2009 7:03:41 AM | | In my opinion, if a guy's gut doesn't make him look pregnant and he's taller than me (I'm 5'7"), has his teeth and hair , is not butt ugly he's fine with me! As for average, I suppose its the same standard I would apply to women, basically you shouldn't be conisdered obese technically and appear proportional. | |

| Average size for MEN - Women’s TURN Posted: 1/21/2009 12:55:15 PM | Are you my "ex" ? I thought he remarried! He was exactly the same size. Hard to find pants, I usually had to hem them..not many 29 lengths around...He was 5'6" tho. Weight REALLY can vary according to bone structure & density ! As well as amount of muscle, whether weight is in your torso or much in your legs - for both men & women. He was pretty fat at 170, but had a small frame. If you have a surdy frame & some muscle -- then 170 may be fine for you.
I was pleased to see a hosptial chart that actually took these things into consideration, not just give a set weight for height. It had categories for frame size, but bone-density is still a consideration. Maybe this is getting a little technical & scientific, but it has been an issue with me for a long time. My daughter is 5'4'', tiny petite frame, size 3 but weighs 120 -125. People would guess 105... just call us "lead-bones Jones" we will never have to worry about osteoporosis !
DON'T LET PEOPLE TRY TO FIT YOU IN THEIR MOLD !!!
Been there -- done that -- doesn't work ! "To thine own self be true! "
Have a happy Valentines Day Everyone ! Debra

"To thine own self be true! "
lildeb, was HAPPY to see that saying (above) was still ALIVE & WELL! It was kind of the 'cornerstone' of my upbringing!

AGREE! I have never subscribed to the 'cookie-cutter' approach to much of anything!

| Average size for MEN - Women’s TURN Posted: 2/7/2009 8:49:47 AM | The 'drop-down menu' only gives us the choices of prefer not to say thin athletic average a few extra pounds big&tall/BBW
I am certainly not a BBW :-)
So I had to choose between thin, athletic, average.
I have been to a few p.o.f. events .... what I saw is proof that I am 30 pounds below average.
So that leaves either thin or athletic. I do not consider myself thin, nor athletic. Thin should mean thin. I wont be thin until (if ever) I lose 7 or 8 pounds. And athletic? No, not me, not since I quit racing a few years ago.
Perhaps there should be a selection for "body type" something like "You won't be disappointed" ?
RE: those height/weight charts.... The bad part is that my last employer switched to a 'managed care program' and the company's health insurance rates were based on questions we had to answer on a website. The website said I was between 26 and 76 pounds overweight. What a joke. If I met that website's stated weight I would look worse than michael jackson.

| Average size for MEN - Women’s TURN Posted: 2/13/2009 2:44:05 PM | "Average"? Man, that is a can of worms! Point one....are we talking in real life "average"? as in, add all weights, with the height calculated in there, and then divide by the number of people to GET an average size??? If so...then an avvvverage man, is 5'10" and 210 pounds, wears a 36 jean, has some belly slung over his belt, and wears a XXL t-shirt, and ok, maybe it can have shrunk to a real life size XL. The above could basically be true for any man over 35......under 35? well....that would be a large t-shirt, and 30-32 inch waist jeans....at 5'8" to 5'11"....wouldn't you think? "A few extra pounds" is not more than a MAX of 25 pounds. 15-20 pounds of "good food and drink investment poundage" is still "average" for a mature man, or woman over 50. If you don't think that is average, for real life folks, look around. size 2 - 4 for an adult woman is NOT AVERAGE! It isn't even average for high school girls.....take a LOOK! Unreal, there is even talk about size 2-4 being freakin' AVERAGE for any American female after the 8th grade...lol..... Oh, and when a George Clooney-type asks me if I am average, I might say "nah, I am a few pounds over average, Honey", but until then, when Mr Goodbelly, age 57, states he wants only "slim, attractive 30-40 year old woman", I am just gonna smile to myself, and say, "Good luck in THAT hunt, hounddog!" I don't care so much what a person looks like, well....reasonable attractive can't hurt, but look at all the sexy/charismatic folks that are not so "gorgeous".....male and female.....Tommy Lee Jones, Seal, M Jagger, Humphrey Bogart, Justin Timberlake, Dr Phil, Barbra Streisand, Paris Ratface Hilton, Gisselle, Meryl Streep, for God's sake....she is a size 16, and I would call her well above average bodywise.....it's all relative. REALative. It's not E! Tonight...Sports Illustrated.....or GQ or Cosmo. This is real life.....average is NOT a size 2-4 for a woman, any more than real life AVERAGE is a size 30 waist with 36 inch inseam and a Medium shirt for a mature man. It's all in the eyes of the beholder.....and personality/character, and sexuality can make all those borders blur.....time to MEET people IN person, and see just how "feel" to you in perrrrrrrrrrrrrson....cause there is a limit to what you can tell from a photo, or a profile.....it can sure go EITHER WAY......and the feel of a person, tells the tale. "Above average" can be quite a nice thing to come across, whether it is in personality, heart, character, humor, or even weight...... Ever heard the old saying, "There is an ass for every seat?" Well, if people would just say what they really are, and what they really want.....we could fill alllllllllll the seats in this big ol' sea, right here on POF. TGIF, that means: Thank God I'm Female ! | |

| Average size for MEN - Women’s TURN Posted: 3/17/2009 5:37:06 AM | What an interesting thread, albeit it's been all over the place.
I'll share some of my thoughts on it. Why not?
If we are talking about something other than the fishing pole, it's pointless. People come in all sizes and shapes. If you want to determine a fit person, then why not ask what their percentage of body fat is? It's measurable, y'know.
I'm 6'5" and 215 lbs. and right now - 19% bodyfat. I want to be 10% bodyfat, and when I hit it, I'll list myself as athletic. That means I need to lose 19 lbs of fat. If I don't add a corresponding increase in muscle, I'll look scrawny. For the record, I was at 15% when the default picture for my profile was snapped. I typically put on a few pounds during the solstice season. Our metabolisms all slow down, and we typically eat and drink more in the winter months. Since I'm tall, I can carry it well. So, I list myself as average.
For now.
Men, anything above 23% bodyfat is obese. Period. For women, it's 32%, since your fat and muscle structure and those breasts of yours contribute to the higher number. So, if you want to really know what kind of shape you're in, study the bodyfat charts and then go get a body composition done. The numbers will ground you.
If there was a PoF fishing pole designation, I would have to choose between either "above average" or "athletic". Hell, I'd even list fat, because in this case, it's a good thing. For the person who said his weighed 12 lbs., I've seen what a 3 lb. London Broil looks like. Lucky you!
Folks, a 6" willy is the national average. It's documented all over the place. Once again, we are all built differently. I've had lovers with shorter vagina's, who would experience pain if I got too frisky and ones that varied in tightness. One of the most enjoyable lovers I had did kegels every day, and was a lot of fun to make love to.
I also know for a fact that girth (thickness) plays a role in the satisfaction level of the woman. The first girl I dated and had a year+ relationship with down here mentioned that her ex-husband was almost 11" in length, (much to my initial intimidation) but very thin in circumference, and she said, "I never got much out of it except the fact that I felt I was being probed. I wish he could have folded that puppy in half..." This lady was very sexually experienced, and had been with many men of differing fishing pole sizes.
Sexual satisfaction isn't solely based on the size of the equipment. In fact, most women will appreciate a lover who doesn't think all he has to do is stuff his sequoia in there and that's good enough. Personally, I think this thread was started ( I didn't even read or participate in the opposing forum) to take a few crack shots at the men who are bashing the overweight girls with unrelenting abandon.
There's no better way to insult a man than to minimize what he has packing. Right?
Everybody needs to be more concerned with the size of someone's heart. The rest is just fluff.
Peace, and happy fishing.

| Average size for MEN - Women’s TURN Posted: 3/17/2009 7:04:09 AM | I agree with you srqnat, it's whats inside that is important, but there does need to be some type of physical attraction. I have found in my experience, when you first see someone, and they take your breath away, usually it never lasts, but when it takes some time, and someone grows on you, it's more long lasting. P.S. aintold told me to invite you to the party on April 10th. I tried to message you, but couldn't | |

I am with a 7 inch rod that is just over 6 inches in circumference. I am told that it is a BBC. Can't find that in the drop-down menu anywhere

| Average size for MEN - Women’s TURN Posted: 3/28/2009 8:51:25 PM | Um Sean, that doesn't sound average to me but then, what do I know? (well, I know you're not average). I thought BBC was British Broadcasting Company | |

| Average size for MEN - Women’s TURN Posted: 8/30/2009 12:50:51 PM | | There was a recent NY Times article that said the latest hip fad for men is to have a small round pot belly instead of the once fashionable six-pack abs. We're not talking about a huge beer belly, but a paunch much smaller. The pot belly is referred to as a Ralph Kramden and many women find this "cute and sexy". Any thoughts you are willing share on this ladies? | |
|
| Average size for MEN - Women’s TURN Posted: 8/31/2009 8:21:43 AM | I think it'd be only fair Bob, seeing as I also have a "Ralph Kramden" and would hope any man I cared for would find it "cute and sexy" also. | |

| Average size for MEN - Women’s TURN Posted: 9/5/2009 6:16:35 PM | I have to admit I have no idea/answer on this. What's the big deal on average anyway? I've liked men who were on the healthy side of thin-normal, to brawny-one Scottish games athlete-no, never got to date him, though, and a local Hispanic man.... I think in the long run its all academic....I do admit to being surprised by one date I thought was short and average size and he turned out to be tall and full figured...{Definitely a good reason for standing photos, too....} In the end its mainly about chemistry and other things....Oh yeah, and it does help if the other party is single, too.... | |

| Average size for MEN - Women’s TURN Posted: 9/8/2009 5:44:16 PM | Average is in the eye of the beholder. I consider myself average and I am 6' 3" and weigh 235. I know I am larger than most men, but I still run into those larger then me.

| Average size for MEN - Women’s TURN Posted: 9/12/2009 7:03:42 PM | I haven't lost any weight since moving to Key West but I have lost about 6 inches on my waist. I would say I am average now for sure.
Although it goes against my nature, I shall refrain from commenting on my idea of what an 'average' size woman is. Suffice it to say that my vision does not usually match the pictures I see. On the other hand, if you view people from up north that consider themselves average, they make our average women look fit. I guess average is relative.
Now, who wants a tour of my Island?

| Average size for MEN - Women’s TURN Posted: 9/13/2009 5:43:49 AM | Fortunately I fit into the 34/36 inch waistband category and fortunately I fit in above the 6.5 category too!!! LMAO | |
