Join us J! I am going to check out the new shirts at Shady Jacks! I heard he/they got me one in a different color... They were going to make one that said "follow me" on the back with their logo... wonder if they ever did it? Problem is, the favorite part for most guys is the front of the shirt... tis a bit shredded...

Well, at the risk of being branded an apologist for the entire male segment of the species,

Sum of us wuz not weaned proper...

The 13th is my next weekend for visitation, so junior decides where we go and when we go there.

And I am in "keep foot elevated and walk as little as possible" mode for at least the next 3-4 days. Looking much, much better today though.

Wow, must have been some party Saturday night! I am having more issues with my legs inspite of them working and functioning for me for the 1st part. It is the sensations when I am not using them has my doctor scrambling. I think the restless leg symptoms is not what is seems. So, I have another specialist to see. However, instructions are to keep active yet when resting to elevate.

Depending upon the age of your son, he may get a kick out of completing a race with all you can eat foods and all you can carry freebies afterward. Heck, while on the course they give away stuff to wear. My kids always loved 5k runs! They always won for their age group at the smaller local ones, not many participate in the age group. Plus if they know the reason for the event, it helps them understand the struggles of others.

I was originally thinking of doing something this year but do not have the cash for the entry fee this year. So I will plan on getting together with you all later that day at Highway 61 Roadhouse & Kitchen in Webster Grove for a Crawfish Boil and two Zydecco Bands. I will have pricing tomorrow evening and will post an event thread to get an idea of how many to let them know are coming.

Shelia,
Contact me on that privately pls.
Well I am sore form the last 5 days of working out. We did A new routine today. I learned how to do pushups with my feet against the wall, ouch, my shoulders. But it was fun once you got the hang of it. And we stopped laughing so hard.

Just do it

That is a problem I had when I tried beginner Karate or something down that line. They tried to teach us falling at the beginning. That is easy... Getting UP was difficult, I have not abs! I ended up laughing and making it even more difficult! So, not something I did well in, same for aerobic classes... I can't get the rhythm and direction right, so that went out quick!

Any movement, in my opinion, that is more than you would move in a typical day has got to be better for you.... unless you are under doc's orders to not do anything more than you have to!

I find that just a typical walk to get me from point A to point B if I am thinking about it I will either try to make it faster than I would or with a longer stride to stretch. I don't know if it make me any more fit, but it does seem to keep me feeling more energized. Especially when I use the steps instead of the elevator, even for one flight.

Hey Denise,
Walking is one of the best exercises, wear a pedometer next time, even at work, all of us would be surprised how many steps we actually take.

On another note, I finally got to kayak this am, before the skies opened up, but looking for some feedback. My age/injuries are catching up with me, my wrists/knees tell me when its going to rain these days, does anyone know or have ever tried the Extra Strength Excedrin Arthritis Medicine?

Or anything else. Not real big on taking stuff, but my wrists are screaming-help help me

Jai-Jai, I suffer from bursitis in a shoulder and double tennis elbow. Aleve does a good job for me, my issues are mostly soft-tissue and tendon so may not help you at all.

Just my 2 cents.

Double as in bilateral, or both arms. No grip any more, I wear the bands and they help but it is always there. Might cause problems in a kayak, but I won't know until I try.

The right got cortisone. That was the second-worst injection I have ever had.

Imagine someone shoving a red-hot rusty coathanger through your elbow, all the way to your fingertips. That's close to how it felt. Worth it, it was much better 2-3 days later though.

A shame that Vioxx was so deadly. That stuff was my wonder drug, no pain or stiffness anywhere when I was on it.

I had the injection for tennis elbo back in April, right after easter.... the pain is creeping back on me. So far I haven't figure out what I do so repetative with my arm that is causing it. I have re-aranged everything at work so I use it differently and when I work out I try to focus on things that I don't have to use my elbow joints much.

It is the c5 & c6 that has the doctor shaking his head now. It is going out faster than it should even though my calcium is fine.

Well rather than complaining, I have something to celebrate.

I broke thru 250 today, 249 on my morning weigh-in and that was AFTER breakfast.

This is the least I have weighed in at least 12 years, yup I am happy.

That is great! For your height it sounds like your wt is fine. My reasoning for starting this thread was more related to the fact that I could not run to save my life if I had to. I can run now, don't think it would save my life if someone were chasing me, but it might make me healthier thus saving my life or adding to my life that way. It makes bike riding fun and not a chore, except that hill we had to attempt yesterday sweet-lady. So far there are so many thing I am finding easier and looking forward to. Such as supporting the Komen race.

If I was built like Ah-nold, yes, but I'm built more like Tom Arnold, so I have a ways to go.

I am about half-way to my goal, but even that is too much by today's charts. I guess I'll need to cut of a leg to get there...

Looks like Metro-Link's best drop off spot is the Civic Center station. POF was down earlier and I email the meeting location to those of you I had email addys for. I have it at work, too tired to look it up now.

I am making a few special shirts for our group to wear! Since we have an adorable kind and generous and smart and easy going and...so on SPONSOR!

We will wear your Logo proudly Mr. stl-computing dot com!

I may even get matching hats done, but might be a bit much to wear when walking/running 3 miles!

Hope you don't mind it getting decorated with pink... your logo colors will remain the same though!
