Hi! I belong to Bally's, which only has a few gyms left here in St. Louis. When I get bored with my standard workout, which is often.....LOL, I like to go to Jazzercise. I just started back there. You can buy sessions in a group batch or by session. I like to go at least once a month. It's aerobic and very up-beat. I know there's one in South County and one in Brentwood.

To all who have quit smoking, all I can say is WAY TO GO! I know it's not easy. My father passed from emphasema (sp?) and lung cancer. It's an ugly way to go! For those still trying to quit, hang in there! Take it one day at a time!

That is it! But the free trial is good at only ONE Bally's, so if you want to get with someone here to find out where you can meet up and work together get to it!

I am going to join the Fairview Hts Illinois one unless someone in St Louis wants to meet me at one in this area. Let me know by New Years.

Look on the internet for locations. I work near south Grand and 44, so I am pretty central to go to the St Louis one.

I am usually available after 4 for working out!

That makes me think back to a Christmas that my brother Matt got one of those things and spun till he puked! He is still a dare-devil when it comes to pushing it to the limit. Five kids and builds his Harleys from the ground up, heats his home with wood, hunts for the majority of their food, at least as much as his wife lets him. Kind of the way my dad was. He would collect things until he had enough to build something out of it. Stones, wood, even nails!, old paint, left over shingles, etc. He helped a lot of people and always made time for us kids!

Love and Miss you Daddy!

Frank, Yes, this Saint Theresa goes to Miami for Spring Break. Well actually it's in between Miami and Miami Beach (it pays to have relatives down there) so I can go down there and stay for a week and still make sure I get up to Jupiter for Cardinal Spring Training. If anyone wants to see the Cards up close, that is the way to go!

Wounded Filly! Which Bally's do you go to? If it is not too far out of my way I could meet you once a week or so during this free month. I was always able to work out for 90 min to 2 hrs at the one in Fairview. If you want the company for a bit. I know working out with someone can be more inspiring. Right now my inspiration is the wheelchair races... I want to be able to run with them! I figure if they can go the distance with just arms, I should be able to do it with my legs!

That wouldn't be too bad of a location either! A couple co-workers are going for it too with me, the quit last year within a couple weeks, but this year I think they are more determined. They will be using the Bally's 30 day trial...

Good to hear about all the people who quit smoking I don't know how anyone can smoke a cigarette; I get anywhere near cigarette smoke I get nausea, headaches, can't breathe. I tried chewing tobacco once when I was a kid and spilled my guts.

Nasty stuff......

Good job Bay! The New Years party is open to the public for tickets, is there going to be a special meeting place for the fishies attending to sign in for the chance to win? Or are you going by the sign ups? This is most likely posted somewhere. But there are a lot of things stacking up on the thread! Lots of excitement for the party.

Last night after I got home from TOP, I decided I wouldn't want to get up any earlier than I had to, so I went and got my 2 miles in on the tread mill, worked my abs and shoulders. No one was there, I had the whole place to myself! I kind of like this 24 hour fitness thing! It worked out well since I got called into work and then had my grandson and family the rest of the day!

LOL....Yep...POF has the gazebo, and we are NOT going to have door greeters and the such at this party, so we will work out something to where everyone gets their names in the pot for drawings of any donated prizes. Honestly....this party is about FUN, more than PRIZES....but figured since this is one where it is actually a ticketed event, we can toss in some prizes! ;O)

Trekker...it's ironic how cig smoke affects some. I smoked on and off since I was a teenager...quitting during pregnancies and to breast feed, and once for nearly 5 years after I lost my Gramps to cancer. None of those times, were the withdrawal symptoms so severe...and never did the smoke bother me so much, as it does now. I dunno if it is what they are putting in cigs NOW, versus then...my age...or just that I smoked LONGER and MORE, this most recent time. I am STOPPED FOR GOOD. Period. I literally am coughing, hacking, itchy, congested, in a BAD way the next morning after being exposed to a lot of smoke...it's unbelievable! I think I would still consider dating a smoker...but I know I would never have a long term relationship with one...no way.

to those who are undertaking this fitness/health challenge or any other challenge, for that matter! :O)

After my workout today, I went to grocery store and was a good girl!

When I open my fridge the first thing I see are fresh veggies bagged up ready to grab for a quick snack. Lettuce ready to make a salad. I also have some low fat/sugar yogurt for smoothies. I am currently making veggie/lentel soup for my vegitarian daughter and myself. I am going to put some mexican marinated chicken breast on the Foreman for salads and wraps this week. I also found some raw almonds to add to, I suppose, whatever I want!

The weakness in me is the moose tracks ice cream in the deep freeze! I am hoping Rachael gets to it before me!

Hey Kat... haven't I heard that one before somewhere???
Somebody said that they'd do a smoker but not actually date one???

I have never smoked a cigarette in my life... but try to be tolerant of others that do. Now cigars are another thing... I love the smell and taste of the flavored ones... but of course... don't inhale em.

Great idea to have all the healthy things easy to see and grab! I think I will give my fridge a make over!
