Posted: 10/19/2009 4:59:14 PM | men should be respectful, certainly, and cognizant of the fact that rape happens and women are right to be cautious. but it comes down to reasonability. i will do my best to honor reasonable caution. i always propose first meets in public places during the day, and i'll always ask a woman to name a familiar spot where she feels comfortable. (and that's a turnoff for some women because 'the man should work out date details.')
but if after all that, and meeting me and seeing that at least on the surface, i'm not a ravening monster, she's still giving off a hypercautious vibe, that's gonna be the end of things because there's only so much i can do to make her comfortable. the rest is about her relationship with herself and the world. | |

Women should be cautious and take precautions within reason, if they do not and they obsess about that fear, that is their own libel. Not the world's.
Man should honor a woman's right to be cautious but he is not there to be a 'shield'. Or he will get dented by things that are not his creation.
The right choices will invariably lead us to the right path, as will the wrong ones.
