| Dallas Cowoys 2009 Next Years Champions Posted: 12/29/2008 7:26:44 PM | """... But seriously Phillips shoulda learned that his coaching style WASN'T WORKING.... and tried a new approach..."""
Call it a hunch, but I'd bet even if Wade reincarnated himself into a combo of Tom Landry, Jimmy AND the Big Tuna, he couldn't make a silk purse out of these sow's ears. Seriously. That's probably one of the main reasons why Parcells left. He wanted Owens on his football team about as much as any of us want to get herpes. The guy's a cancer to team concepts, and alien to the success principle of teamwork. Parcells knew he was going nowhere with Romo and Owens and he didn't want to be around these guys. His jaw hit the floor when Romo was selected to the proBowl two years ago, and still to this day, i don't believe he refers to Owens by name.
But it looks like you'll get a different Wade next year. Maybe i'm wrong. Maybe that's all it'll take to fix this disfunctional bunch. Anybody feel like making a bet on that?
Anyway, Short video talkin' about getting rid of some cancer from a ballclub that's riddled with it:
Big change in Big D?
http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80dc019b ============
And for those pleading for Wade to change his ways:
"""Phillips vows new plan
"""...You can't say, 'Well, OK, everything's going to be all right,' because it's not going to be all right if you do the same thing and I'm talking about myself," Phillips said. "I have to look at myself from how I deal with things, from how we have training camp, how we have practices, whatever." ... All he's decided so far is that he needs a plan; he's only started putting it together....
The big change Phillips seems to be talking about is getting tough, a la previous Dallas coaches Bill Parcells and Jimmy Johnson. That would be quite a change for a 61-year-old man whose reputation as a players' coach has been forged over 32 seasons in the NFL...
...One change Phillips already made was opting not to address the team Monday. Players met with position coaches, cleaned out their lockers, tied up other loose ends and were free to go.
Linebacker Bradie James, a defensive team captain, didn't like that change. "I don't want to just end this thing and be in the dark," James said. So James had to hear from reporters that Phillips is plotting a new approach. Asked if that will work, James smiled wide and said, "If you know a person to be a certain way and then all of a sudden you have an extreme change, I don't know how well that's going to be taken. I don't know what he means by that. Like I said, he didn't address us, so I don't know. ... Whatever needs to be done, I'm all for it...."
...James turned out to be the most high-profile player to step up in front of cameras Monday. The only others were linebacker Zach Thomas, receiver Roy E. Williams and rookie running back Tashard Choice, all whom were in their first season in Dallas and thus have less perspective about what went wrong.
James' take: "There were a lot of personalities put on this team and we didn't jell. We didn't find a way to jell. This past game, you could see it. When you know you've got something on the line and you're playing to go into the playoffs, you know what you have to do, and you go out there and stink it up like that? That just speaks for itself."
"We didn't really get to our full potential," Thomas said. "We were inconsistent all year. I don't understand it, but that's something for them to fix. I mean, they've got a great organization here, a lot of great players. Something's missing. I'm hoping they find out because Jerry Jones deserves it, Wade deserves it...."""""
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3798441 ================================== Yes. Everybody just deserves to be a winner... Lions have permission to talk to J. Garrett.
EDIT: ps. What's a cowoy?

| Dallas Cowoys 2009 Next Years Champions Posted: 12/29/2008 9:15:22 PM | The boys don't need Parcells, or Phillips-or Jerry Jones for that matter.
How about hiring Mike Holmgren in 2 years, or promoting Jason Garrett to head coach.
And dumping Terrell Owens. Biggest cancer in the NFL the last 12 years!
|
| Dallas Cowoys 2009 Next Years Champions Posted: 12/29/2008 9:28:34 PM | I Felt bad the Cowboys lost because I can't stand the Eagles. It just seems Romo is not worth his contract ? I'm just guessing | |
|
| Dallas Cowoys 2009 Next Years Champions Posted: 12/29/2008 9:31:43 PM | I think the Cowboys really need to rethink their approach to the game. Try something that will give them a leg up next season. Maybe a different brand of pantyhose would help. | |

or promoting Jason Garrett to head coach. Be careful what you wish for!~ Garrett has his entire coaching career with plenty of opportunities ahead of him. I don't think he's ready to be head coach!
JAC ... *sigh* nevermind!!
