Posted: 1/7/2009 8:44:37 PM | I don't think you're huge. I'd say that given you are 5'3" you probably weigh about 170 pounds from the picture. Of course that could be the results of distortion in the picture. Sometimes if you crop the picture wrong, POF changes the way you look.
Since I don't understand women's sizes, I wish the profiles included weight. Perhaps if you included your weight in your profile. (I think I do.) | |

Posted: 1/7/2009 10:52:27 PM | I had some photos of me including a full body picture, however, perhaps the photo was too flattering (I am wearing a dress). About 3 days after the date, I received a scathing email blasting me for not emailing him thanking him for the date (even though I told him I was going to be busy the next couple days) and then called me obese! He also chewed me out for not offering to pay my portion of the meal (we met for drinks, but then he said he was hungry and offered dinner, so I actually thought the date was going well).
Well, I sent him an email back calling him on his rudeness, explained the definition of "obese", reminded him I did not even have time to check my emails let along respond to him before he did and actually did apologize for not offering to pay dinner but did tell him that if he expects a gal to offer to pay half (when he is doing the inviting, then maybe he should spell that out up front). I don't have a lot of money, so a girlfriend and I often go dutch, but if I am doing the inviting, I always mention whether it is my treat or if she can pay her way.
Even though I was offended, yes, it did still hurt. I do know my body type is not to everyone's liking but I also don't seem to have too much trouble getting a date.
However, I did end up getting another full length picture of me posted in jeans and purposely not as flattering to show my true figure. So...no false advertising....now if we can only find a way to weed out the jerks.
To the Jerks who do this - You don't need to tell us we are overweight. We have a mirror, we usually already know!!!
I actually did have someone tell me I was thin but then he had previously been very heavy and had apparently lost a lot of weight so he obviously had a different conception of weight (and probably some issues of his own).
So weight and beauty are definitely in the eye of the beholder. | |

saying that america is overweight in general means americans are a few lbs over. That still makes her a "few lbs over".
The average American or Canadian is already around 20 pounds overweight so therefore average is already overweight.
Average should be a good healthy weight. Not thin or overweight.

I would take the 2nd photo in your photo shots out. It's too close and doesn't show your body properly and it makes you look bigger than you probably are.
You are a very attractive sexy female and I know there are a lot of guys out there who would so happy to date someone like you. Don't worry about jerks on here. I once had a 25 year old guy call me a "fat whore" because I wouldn't sleep with him. It shook me up for a couple of days..............I couldn't believe it.
Anyway just remember when you post photos on a website you will have all sorts looking at it not just the nice guys. | |

B.S. People who think like you are why everyone screams that people lie about their body type type on here. Average is not meant to mean overweight on here for body type. If your overweight you should be choosing a few lbs over at least. Get real and be honest.
The guy that said this to her was an azz. But she isnt average body type by any stretch of the imagination. Quit making excuses. He was at fault and so was she on her body type on her profile.
JUST BE HONEST. I am skinny. Many do NOT want a skinny guy. So I feel her pain. I put a full length photo and my real height and weight on my profile.
I applaud her for really putting a full length photo on here! GOOD for her. I notice you dont btw...
But her size was never meant to mean average on this site. I think we need a choice between "a few lbs over" and BBW. I think "a few" is 10 to 15 lbs.... But by your thought process of her weight being "average" WTF is between her and "thin" ????

I know it's hard not to feel a little devalued after hearing a comment like that, but I want you to remember this. Anyone who feels compelled to go out of their way to insult a total stranger is clearly struggling with feelings of inadequacy regarding their own self worth. (That's why they try to project their feelings of inferiority onto someone else.) This comment had nothing to do with how you look, just some damaged soul looking to ease their own pain. He is looking at things through a deeply flawed perception, therefore even if this was his opinion, it has no value.

I had a guy initiate an IM with me here the other day. He says "Can I ask you a question?"
Note to self: When someone you don't know asks you that question, say NO.
He went on to ask if I'm so active (swordfighting, taiko drumming, biking, swimming, etc), why am I so fat? And when I gave him an honest answer, he basically said I was lying, because I didn't tell him "Oh, because I eat like a pig." Because I don't, I eat way less than most of my 'thin' friends do.
