I'm not so sure you should be in the fight prediction game anymore Dwayne.

So you think this is a good style matchup for Silva?

Thiago is most likely gonnaa get embarresed badly by the much better fighter.

I'm picking Lyoto to win the Machida/T. Silva fight; but that fight will be closer than the GSP/Penn fight. Penn is not suited for the WW division. Some people have said that the outcome of this fight is a coin-toss. No, it isn't. It's not going to be a close fight. Only BJ's rabid fans think that the fight will be a close one. But when their messiah......their lord and savior BJ Penn gets finished by GSP, they will have to find a new set of excuses to explain why the fight wasn't that challenging.

Greg Jackson is a master strategist, and GSP is consistent in implementing great gameplans. Don't give the 1st Serra fight too much credence. Anything can happen one time. Penn is not going to deliver the goods on Saturday.

A few of these muppets said...."dominate"

OK...so you're rootin' for BJ because you can relate to his personality....fair enough...he's gonna have a lotta nasty words to choke back down.....

Read between the lines of all his smack talk this time...there's some self doubt leaking through....I can't wait...

Hence the very real possibility of GSP dominating the fight....

lol @ anyone predicting the outcomes of fights with any sense of certainty. Last year alone was a big lesson on how unpredictable this sport is.

It's going to be a pretty close fight, I'm going to pick GSP by splity decision, because I question BJ cardio.

LOL, truest post ever. There are so many variables in MMA, it makes trying to guess fight outcomes almost pointless.

It's true that there are many variables in MMA; but it's possible to predict fights with much greater than 50% accuracy when one is familiar with the sport and the fighters. You'll be right much more often than you're wrong......

I've been with the sport since UFC 1, and the last two years have been full of surprises that I'm sure many didn't see coming.

Gonzaga dropping Cro Cop in brutal fashion, a former WWE wrestler becoming champion, Mir dominating Nog, Rampage making quick work of Silva, Serra taking the belt from GSP, just to name a few.

This sport is so unpredictable that I won't even make "certain" predictions for Fedor fights.

I would have to agree, I haven't seen him this focused since he fought Pulver for the second time.

Did you just compare GSP to Pulver?

Let's look at who is stronger in different areas going into this fight:

Size/strength: GSP.
Reach: GSP
Boxing: BJ
Muay Thai: Even (neither fighter uses it much)
Kicks: GSP
Takedowns: GSP
Sprawl: Even
GNP: GSP
BJJ: BJ
Cardio: GSP

GSP is stronger in 6 areas. BJ is stronger in 2 areas. 2 areas are roughly even. Both fighters have fought top competition throughout their careers. GSP is training with more elite fighters; but Penn has often invited top fighters to his Hawaii gym to train with him. They both have a high rate of finishing opponents. They have a comparable number of total fights, with GSP having a better W/L record. GSP has the advantage of a current win over BJ, coming back from a rough 1st round to win.

The bottom line is that no one (not even BJ's fans) really thinks that BJ is going to win this fight. BJ's fans are hoping he wins; but that's different from believing he'll win. Not only is BJ going to lose; but he's going to be taken and destroyed. GSP will probably end this fight by the 3rd round.

My final predictions (with method of win):

1. Penn over St. Pierre... via 2nd round TKO
2. Machida over Silva... via 3rd round TKO
3. Bonnar over Jones... 1st round submission
4. Parysian over Kim... via split decision
5. Guida over Diaz ... unanimous decision

If Penn wins this fight...it will be by submission from the bottom....GSP will NOT stand and trade if he feels BJ's hands are too fast and he starts gettin' tagged....

In fact...Penn's gonna be on his back for most of the fight....I can almost guarantee....

It's gonna have to be!
I watched the weigh-ins last nite & GSP has obviously been training his ass off - he's never looked in better condition!!

My money's on him & Machida - should be a great card & I can't wait - I feel like a little kid on Xmas morning! LOL

Bj looks like a man already defeated in the interviews, he doesn't seem as sure of himself as a couple weeks ago. He can sense death or defeat coming, can't blame a man for accepting his own fate.

A huge "LMAO" at all the Machida critics. He made Silva look absolutely ridiculous.

GSP winning was no surprise either. I'm glad he won.

Scary. In my mind, GSP is now the pound for pound king. He's an unbelievable fighter. Machida was finally exciting.

Otherwise, boring card. 8 of 10 fights went the distance.

I called it too, on both of my predictions!! Don't understand why anyone would've thought that Machida would've lost? He's an amazing fighter!!

Guess it's true - Penn really did go on vacation instead of training - what an embarrassment!!

The only people who thought Thiago had a chance were people who cry about Machida not brawling mindlessly.

I can't remember. But did Goldberg call gsp P4P? lol

I got him at #2.................................................................................................

Let's don't buy into too much hype.

LMAO when Anderson and GSP fight for the so called P4P title. lol

I don't know about that. After Silva's last fight and GSP's last 4, it's really tough to not consider him P4P.

And for the record, I don't agree with these cross division mega fights. If your going to have a mega fight, have it at a catch weight. BJ just could not handle GSP's size and strength. Same would probably happen to GSP if he fought Silva.

P4P is subjective. I thought BJ was #2 before this fight. And GSP #3. Now BJ drops past 4 and GSP goes up a notch................................................................
