LOL..a lipgloss is totally different! as it does not significantly alter a person's look..yes it makes their lips look shiny, but generally speaking you wont notice much of a difference without a lip gloss..come on now...you still dont get it...you are using the word "natural/unnatural" in the literal sense here..obviously if we did that everything would be unnatural, now wouldnt it?...

I have a girlfriend who's always trying to make me more pretty. She takes me shopping and makes me try on sexy clothes and bold colours and once she insisted that I needed a padded bra to enhance my bust. I tried it on, and it looked good I suppose, but the truth is I felt self-conscious and uncomfortable. I didn't buy it, for the same reason I don't wear makeup or perfume or much jewelry -- I don't like to rely on external accessorizing for my self-image, my sense of beauty, usefulness, value. When I'm trying to live up to some current standard of "pretty" I'm far more vulnerable than when I'm being my own version of useful.

its funny as i am the exact same way..i hate wearing jewelery etc..anything external that would make me look "better"..i just start to think to myself that its not who i am and what i look like and i hate the idea of using external accessorising for myself to look better, because at the end of the day i realise that i am who i am and that those added things wont change me

Hmm.. it just so happens I am a hairsylist with a very good friend who is black and also a hairdresser! Her salon, specializes in hair straightening and weaves. Be that it may that Winnipeg is not in comparison a thriving cosmpolitan city, like Toronto,(I have lived in Toronto for a couple of years) none the less, we have a thriving ethnic population, so it's not like Winnipeg only has 60 black people living here. If your saying none of the women in your family or extended family, never wear weaves or straighten their hair.... well I would have to say they are IMO the exception.. It's very rare, in my observation with the black community here to see any of the women wear it natural. It's either straightened or weaved and on younger girls, braids. Once again I have to reiterate, it looks great either
way! So for you Tiger..no hair straightening either? Wow!
Quite frankly I don't get what all the fuss is about! regarding make-up if it is tastefully
applied. I have yet to have a man run in horror after waking up beside me because of my natural appearance! I do understand the part about push-up bras etc and the tummy
tammers but hey what the heck, aren't you Tiger and Sega dating young women? Why worry about it?

Have a nice week-end!

If a "body shaper" is actually tight enough to noticably change the shape of your body, it's simply got to be a bad thing for your guts. I don't see how it couldn't be.

Uh huh And I suppose you "need" all of that mascara and lipstick? You see it's not about need, it's about want.

no, of course i don't "need" it, that's just silly. i prefer to wear eye makeup and mascara on a daily basis to enhance my eyes which i consider my best feature. however, i don't cake the makeup on and it doesn't alter my appearance significantly. i'm sure people can recognize me without my makeup. not really a huge fan of lipstick or lipgloss, only wear that for special occasions. i also dye my hair and wear nail polish all the time. but my nails are natural, not tips or fakes.

Personally, I always go for comfort above all. I overheat easily and I don't like wearing too many layers. If I did, I'd start sweating profusely, and then my hair would get drenched and screw up my artificially enhanced hair!

I have no problem with other people wearing body shapers if they want to, though. Everybody wants to feel like they look and feel good when they go out. Whatever tools a person wants to use to feel confident and sexy so they can have a good time is all right by me!

well of course its bad fr you..but the people who are selling/advertising it wont tell you that..they only tell the people what they want to hear..just like the people in cosmetics/beauty shops etc..don't tell you that all those chemicals and stuff you put in your hair is BAD for you in the long run!

Hi OP,i just think its a shame that so much pressure is placed on women these days to look 'perfect'.Hopefully as everything goes in cycles this will pass and women will feel they can be themselves without all this pressure.
We all want to look our best but surely in your own home you should just be yourself, nothing wrong with just being comfortable, rolls, ripples and all.

WOW! You guys have worked the crap out of this thread! It amazes me at how much debating has gone on it. Thanks for the insight into this. What I think for myself is, I like the smooth lines, always want bigger boobs, and would rather not jiggle myself into next week. However, I really do not believe that any girdle, corset, bra, etc., is going to lead anyone to believe that you are 10 sizes smaller than you are. If it does, I want to sell them my swamp land in Florida! LOL!. Must say, some of the undergarments are pretty sexy these days, but I am truly all about comfort and unless its for a special occasion or my back is aching pretty bad there will be no body enhancing undies in my future. Now a back brace/cincher maybe! LOL! Peace all and thanks for the awesome response to this thread!

Body Shapers, Pushup Bras, Tummy Tammers - Lying or looking good?

Nothing hotter than getting that foxy lady at the nightclub to come home with you and as soon as you tell her to make herself more comfortable she pulls off her wig off of her almost bald head, tears off fake lashes, takes off her fake boobs, drops her ass pads, pulls out her false teeth and tosses them into a glass of beer then disconnects her prosthetic leg and seductively tosses it on the floor. Then says come and get me baby.

How romantic.

But seriously, those things like tummy squeezers, and pushup bras that accentuate a woman's curves can make some women look and feel more attractive, especially if they are wearing a dress and consider themselves to be in the "a few extra pounds" category. When women feel good about themselves, feel proud of the way they look and notice that lots of guys are checking them out they seem to exhude a certain self-confidence and tend to be more friendly and receptive when you approach them.

Call it a force multiplier. So I'd say it's not lying, it's just looking good.

This is a ridiculous thread. I can't think of anything that hides a man's true shape more than a suit. They have big shoulder pads and are tailored to make a guy look big chested, even when he is actually a pear. Then there is the hip-hop, baggy butt look.

Women are the ones who actually show their real shape in their clothes. That is what body shapers are for: to smooth out, not to reshape. It would take a corset to reshape. Yet, some guys find corsets and bustiers hot.

Personally, I would be embarrassed to undress with a body shaper. Too much like granny panties. They are not something you want to be seen taking off. I don't think many women would wear one if there was a chance for romance.

This reminds me of that old country song, "The Girls all Get Prettier at Closing Time"

I can tell you that I have seen a couple of the women that my brothers brought home from the bar (apparently very close to closing time) and any artificial help they could have gotten would have been noticed if my brothers had taken a closer (and more sober) look before inviting them home for a romp!

If you are meeting women in bars and taking them home for said romp, you deserve the surprise you get when the artificial leg hits the wall in the corner!

I have no idea what body shapers are, but after more than 30 years, I have no problems from wearing very snug jeans, so I don't know.
After being told by a girlf friend it might affect my fertility (back in my 20's), I asked my doctor about it, he said not as far as he knew. But
when I was consulting him more recently about my shoulder problem, he did refer me to a medical website, where I learned that several
new studies have found a possible connection between wearing of bras & breast cancer.

I think it is a matter of personal choice really... if it is what it takes to look nice and u dont mind the discomfort then by all means go for it ... no one has to kow every little thing about you and should it get intimate then say something prior to the fact so he knows.. women used to wear corsets and thats why they had suck nice figures notice how when we stoped we all expanded .... just a though.... besides what about men who wear toupes or women with wigs or hair extensions....it all falls into the same catagory ! it is not really misleading it is trying to look your best ....people have just became way too judgemental and picky...

Lying, but that is the female way. Personally, I think lying to attract someone is moronic. Eventually the lie is going to come out. I have heard people say that by then the victim of the lie should be attracted to the liar, so it won't be so bad. I say a relationship started with a lie is not worth continuing.

I would be extremely disappointed when first intimate with a man, if he opens his pants and out pops his codpiece!

Quite the fashion statement. Until that moment it's nobody else's business what you are wearing under your clothes.

My aunt swears by the "magic knickers" very comfortable and looks ok.If a woman is obese and has rolls, etc no underwear is going to make her svelte. She is just trying to look smoother under clothes not fool anyone.A man can see she she is carrying a little timber, shaper or no shaper.
Women have worn corsetry forever, bustles, corsets etc.I remember reading that William Shatner wears a corset to keep in his paunch. If it makes a girl feel good, whats wrong with it.These things are worn , to make women feel good about themselves not attract men.

there is nothing quite like a pair of briget jones knickers when your tummy is bloated :) i have no problem with these undergarments. half the time it doesn't even really change how you look it just makes you more secure eg two pairs of tights make your legs feel firmer than one pair would but they dont make your legs any smaller.

Well I suppose if we want to get picky we could say that clothes are a deception right? With the right clothing you can look leaner and curvier. Oh and I would never stop wearing a bra. Ugh the curse of big breast is that no matter how young they sag and when you get to be an old lady like me you don't dare go bra less. I might smack myself in the knees.

Wow a jump from January to May, so how bout we go back to the begining.

ly⋅ing1   /ˈlaɪɪŋ/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [lahy-ing] Show IPA
–noun 1. the telling of lies; untruthfulness.

–adjective 2. telling or containing lies; deliberately untruthful; mendacious; false: a lying report.

lie1   /laɪ/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [lahy] Show IPA noun, verb, lied, ly⋅ing.
–noun 1. a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood.
2. something intended or serving to convey a false impression; imposture: His flashy car was a lie that deceived no one.
3. an inaccurate or false statement.
4. the charge or accusation of lying: He flung the lie back at his accusers.

verb (used without object) 5. to speak falsely or utter untruth knowingly, as with intent to deceive.
6. to express what is false; convey a false impression.

–verb (used with object) 7. to bring about or affect by lying (often used reflexively): to lie oneself out of a difficulty; accustomed to lying his way out of difficulties.

So from the noun of lie we find a "deliberate intent to deceive". So rest comfortly as long as it's not a deliberate intent to deceive then it shouldn't be considered a lie.

Does this settle the question?

I bought one of them wonder bras about 10 years ago. The next day I was walking down a long hallway at work and couldn't quite put my finger on how I was feeling. "Dizzy? Disoriented? What's wrong with me?" Looks down. "OHHHH! I can't see my freakin feet!" LOL! Guess there's a first time for everything.

I'm with Carolann. Men "cheat" too. They just don't realize it. But I assure you my baby's a** looks infinitely better in a tight pair of jeans than nekkid. OTOH, nekkid makes it easier to grab.
