| Body Shapers, Pushup Bras, Tummy Tammers - Lying or looking good? Posted: 9/21/2009 7:39:56 AM | | Do you know what a woman who is a size 18 looks like wearing spanx? She looks like a size 18 woman wearing spanx. There is no real difference. The only difference can be compared to what your hair looks like before you brush it and after you brush it. You just look a little neater. So no real difference. | |

Posted: 9/21/2009 8:15:48 AM | Reading this thread and ran across someone saying they didn't have to wear a bra at all. **sigh** I wish I could do that!! They make such cute clothes that you can get away with not wearing one IF you aren't packing a "D" cup into it. **sigh**

Women should be proud of their bodies, not hide it behind body enhancing fabrics. I find pushup bras to be acceptable for dressed or something where a little bust on the top is nice... but wearing one daily is false advertising. I'd be incredibly insulted and feel tricked if I found someone was wearing a body shaper and a push up bra.
Certain situations : YES
All the time: NO!!!!!!!

Posted: 9/21/2009 10:35:58 PM | I wear a bra, which in not natural and was something that was not even invented until maybe the 20's I think. I wonder how many men would want their wives and girlfriends to go au natural? I think the "I want my woman to be completely natural" men would quickly throw their stance right out the window the minute her boobies would be swinging free, jiggling and jumping in front of his guy friends and boss. I have a feeling that when they would not be able to take their eyes of her chest he would be singing a very different tune. - Rachelle~C Most women didn't wear them in the 60s & 70s, p& personally I have never understood how they made a comeback. Fortunately, there are still plenty of smart women who don't (me included). Even if I lost my mind & wanted to wear one, I have shoulder problems that make them an absolute no-no!
(first time I have ever been thankful for a health problem!) LOL

| Body Shapers, Pushup Bras, Tummy Tammers - Lying or looking good? Posted: 9/22/2009 7:14:32 AM | I was around in the 60's and 70's and I don't think it's true that "most" women didn't wear a bra back then. True plenty didn't when it wasn't necessary. But if you were in the work force ...you wore one if you needed one. I'm all for the human body being a beautiful thing, but to be honest, I still have nightmares about the woman I saw in the grocery store that was so huge she had her boobs tossed in the child seat of the shopping cart. I'm sorry, there is nothing (in my opinion) attractive about huge boobs swinging low and free. There is a time and a place for everything. But that's just my opinion. | |

Short guy puts boosters in his shoes to give him 2 or 3 inches. You go to get busy, he takes off his platforms and all of a sudden he's shorter than you. How would you feel?

There is a huge difference between spanx and lifts in shoes. lifts can give you up to three inches while spanx doesn't make any noticeable difference . A body shaper is spanx or something similar, and they do nothing at all. There is no body shaper that will make someone go down a few dress sizes or even one dress size. They are pretty much a scam.

If I don't know how tall he truly is before we get naked ~ that would be on me. Never get naked with a man in platform heals unless John Travolta shows up in his Saturday Night Fever garb. (If he's shorter than me? I'm taking pictures and sending them to Guiness. There must be some sort of award for that.)
It's a form of lying, in my book I would assume you feel that firming night cream, mascara, teeth bleaching, salon hair-cuts, stiletto heals, anything aside from gunny sacks or su naturale and a whole slew of other "norms" for most of us are lies as well ?????

Posted: 9/23/2009 3:01:37 PM | All of the things we do for grooming I would hope we do for ourselves first, and if we are so inclined, then to attract the opposite sex. It is goofy so say that grooming and putting your best foot forward is lying. Should a man not shave? Should he not choose clothes that look good on him?
Shapers smooth, they do not reduce your size and if anyone believes that, they are watching too many very late night inf0mercials. A bra is for support and I cannot imagine not wearing one. I would not want my nipples to show through my clothes. I am big breasted so a bra is not an option.
If you want au natural with the bare basics, then I do hope that you do not respond to women who wear makeup in their pictures, it is simply not honest.
