| What Would Do If Your Date Said To You, I'm Use To Dating Someone Better Looking Than You? Posted: 6/10/2009 5:49:58 PM | | Sounds like a very inconciderate person to me. Maby if you knew the whole story things would look different. Maby the woman thought she was the queen bee and needed to get knocked over to remember that she wasn't god's gift to men. Maby he was messing with her and she said something just as bad to him later. I've seen a good many couples that joke around like that these days. There are alot of unseen factors with this story. Was it their first date?.............. | |

Then she said that in the middle of eating, it looked like the got into a heat arguement and that's when she said the woman through her drink in the guy's face and walked out.
Oh shit I missed this part....you go girl! Never mind stooping to his level, embarrase his ass in front of the whole resturaunt. She should have left as soon as he said the first shit

So people, how would you react if your date said that they were use to dating someone better loking to you? Old post and I didn't read the responses. Apologize for any repetition.
It would really depend on how they meant it.
Maybe it came out that way but what they were trying to say was "I am used to dating/meeting people that focus solely on how they look, so lack any focus on their depth." Maybe it just came out as something like "I'm used to dating 'pretty' people." As that is how they define a group of people. But were really nervous so made a faux pas. And really meant it as a compliment, that I wasn't as shallow a person as they were used to. I know I've said stupid things I didn't mean the way they sounded, or how the person took it. Especially when I'm really interested in a person.
If they said it in a derogatory manner then I would ask if that was hurting my chances for sex, and if cash would help. Then probably leave. Depends on how good the restaurant was.

I think it depends on how confident you are in how you look, even if you know that you are not the most attractive person in the world or that you have dated.
I've had women tell me they've dated models, guys with a lot of money, etc.
One woman said, "I have never imagined sleeping with someone like you. Most guys I date have a lot of money and life a high lifestyle." She ended up going for those guys but I was honest in what I could offer and never thought twice that I was inadequate. I like my life choices and even my mistakes.
I usually have the attitude that whoever they have dated in the past I'm up front, honest and have a lot to offer in terms of my general outlook. No woman has ever said I am uninteresting or boring or stupid. Then again, women need to both be a bit artsy and appreciate that in someone else to appreciate me.
Either way, not everyone is for everyone.
Was it rude? Yes, I'd never say it to anyone. It's funny though how some people believe in people just being honest with one another and then when they are they can't handle it.

Posted: 6/11/2009 2:27:20 PM | It's possible that the guy was just being honest about the reality of his past dates. Given the information that she WAS attractive, stunned by the comment and he apologized, I'm inclined to think it was a failed attempt to compliment by understatement; Sort of like calling someone's new Corvette a heap-Clearly it is not, so the opposite must be true.
The responses to this thread are revealing, though. Most would have fired back with the most demeaning response they could think of, then left. But what if the guy had previously only dated "supermodel" looking women; Wouldn't the statement reflect well on both of them? On her non-physical qualities and his appreciation of them?
I guess this situation falls under the genre as the "Does my butt look big in these jeans?" question. A question never to be answered, much less voiced as an un-solicited opinion.

And how does someone like you manage to attract these better-looking women?". He actually went on to explain how he thought he attracted them... he had no idea he'd been put down. When he'd finished his BS, I laughed and got up and left without a word.
The moron actually asked me out again.
