| Do woman realise how ridiculous they look with pumped up lips?
Posted: 5/2/2009 8:46:06 AM | Features commonly associated with Ethnic women , which the mainstream once deemed undesirable ( full lips/round full butts) are now all the rage ...with people shelling out big bucks to achieve that look ..
But many just don't have the physical features to pull it off and as a result comes off as ridiculous looking as implanting wings on a pig..
eg
Lisa rinna
Pam anderson
Angelina Jolie
etc...
all lookin like they got slammed in the grill with a 2 by 4...

Indeed...
Jolie denied it but it's obvious from former pics she has fattened up her lips... Rinna went nuts with it and Meg Ryan looks like a puffer fish with her features clowned by those ridiculous looking enhanced lips.... who are these gals plastic surgeons??

Posted: 5/2/2009 9:05:34 AM | You're right about Rinna, Sepia, but Pam accentuates her lips with lip liner drawn over her lip line - I've seen pics of her without makeup
Angelina's are mostly real, she has her upper lip plumped a bit because when she was younger, her lips were very full but not the same size as they are now - the upper lip was a bit smaller.
Even pretty Meg Ryan has gone the way of plumping her lips and her once pretty mouth is no more

I am all real and I believe God gave me what I have and wasnt meant to be alternated with cosmetic surgeries. my wrinkles, sagging body parts(wink), out of portion body images, grey hairs and a corky bubbly personality  I am who I am, like it or not, I'm unique in my own ways.
I often tell others, dont hate me because of an imperfection in your eyes, but to love me for the good person that I am. | |

I also think you did a great job of explaining your thought in msg #21.
It might be in this hyper competitive world, people (both men and women) feel compelled to gain any advantage, no matter how slight. Especially in those areas where appearances count for a lot. Be it for personal or professional reasons. One such area is cosmetic surgery. Sure you have things like the removal of birth marks, reconstructive breast surgery and other good examples.
Personally, I don't hold anything against someone who has a purely cosmetic procedure or two if the thought process seems sound.
Unfortunately, it also seems to be the case that there are people whose thinking is "If a little bit is good, then a lot is better." Or the individuals who are hyper critical of their appearance and expect perfection. Yet, as a few observant people have posted, these examples can be taken to extremes, with unfortunate results. Not only to outward appearances, but to actual personal health.
My thinking is that doing things that result in a good and positive self image are commendable goals, reaching for narcissistic vanity is not.
A quick look at celebrity photo's that are not retouched should give someone a reason to do a serious reality check on expectations before you go down that road.

IMO, beauty has nothing to do with the size and shape of one's lips and I pity those who don't realize this. | |

i think some people think that they'll just have something small done and then it turns out badly so they try to correct it and it gets worse and so the cycle continues until their faces are ruined - seems especially true with rhinoplasties
and sometimes it turns out well, so they want something else done and get addicted to seeing how far they can push things, until they go way over the top and it's too late
i bet many of those who've gone so far wish they'd never started...

I would think that if there that many botched surgeries (to which I don't doubt), that a lot of those plastic surgeons would have a lot of civil laws suits coming out of their yin yans.
Personally when I see a woman with those kinds of lips.... I wonder if she would be able to hold herself with suction up against a pane of glass, you know like a suction cup? | |

Actually I think they are all natural I know Lisa Rinna is and pretty sure Angelina....also////pam anderson yah maybe....but many Eastern Euroepan, Russian and South european women have fuller lips than Nordics do .........in fact alot of people world wide have the full lips naturally.....................don't be jealous. | |

"They look like a walking suction cup. Lick their lips and stick them on the back window of your car!" yeah yeah yeah....
So... what I think is so damn funny is all these women going out to get the injections, and they even have lip glosses that are supposed to help plump your lips. I personally think it's disgusting looking when they are fake....as I do with anything that is fake.
I just like the fact that I can turn to my old schoolmates and say...."who's laughing now chicken lizard lips???"  | |

I may agree that some of what they do is ridiculous, and by now we know that no matter what anyone says, women will continue doing those things. So, if they aren't doing them for themselves, and you don't think that they should be doing them for men, would it be much better if they did those things for their pets? Do you have a better suggestion? | |

I do feel sorry for people who have low self image or who have been programmed by the media to think that they are just not good enough... many people with money still do not do surgery or injections so I think it still comes down to the place where people find themselves at... comments like blowjob lips still try to belittle woman as objects rather than as the mothers sisters daughters or wives that they may be.. regardless if the lips are real or not, the feelings are real... blessings for balance | |

And men do things for women and don't realize how silly it is. Do you think combovers are done to impress other men? How about penis lengtheners? Whether they work or not, some men will still try it in order to enhance what they don't have--are they trying to impress guys in the locker room by exhibiting their bigger penises?

I do believe the EXACT quote by him was : 'You look like you got your mouth caught in a POOL DRAIN!' Eyebrows furrowed walking home, I used my lips to POUT all the way as I muttered to myself what a SCHMUCK that particular BOY was. Fast forward to high school when one day this SAME putzy boy did a DOUBLE TAKE in the hall, and noticing I had ORANGE lipgloss on my plump lips proceeded to ask while leaning against some lockers if my lips TASTED like ORANGES. With my eyes narrowed, folding my arms in front of me I felt an amazing surge of POWER. I tilted my head, popped my BUBBLE YUM and said in my most SNOTTY voice smirking, 'I KNOW they TASTE better than THAT ! Doesn't it SUCK that you will NEVER know ?' Breezing past him nonchalantly, I puckered and blew him a salty kiss while FLIPPING THE BIRD over my shoulder. Personally I wouldn't go near anyone that thinks they need cosmetic surgery, implants, or injections to make themselves look better. It just suggests that they have a low self image, low self esteem or they think that guys will like them more. Plus I wouldn't want to walk around with a puffer fish by my side 
Personally, I don't believe in cosmetic surgery, and I don't care for the plumped lip look (for myself or anyone else.) That said, I don't find it necessary to trash those who hold a different opinion, let alone initiate a thread with just that purpose.
For all of the criticisms by the OP (and others on here) I find that those who mock others' looks are generally just insecure with their own appearance. | |
