Some people like playing the field and so they will tell you whatever lie suits their efforts with that goal in mind and this refers to men AND women.
It's nothing short of childish stupidity to talk about this kind of cheating or deceit as being a uniquely male or female thing, men and women will lie about themselves and anyone or anything else if it suits their purposes. I'm sure we've all come across profiles littered with photoshopped pictures, completely fake or stolen pictures, or dealt with people that have done nothing but spun yarns out of some pathological need to lie.
OP it sucks that this guy lied to you and the girl he's seeing. There is not sure fire way to know 100 % that someone is telling you the truth. Unfortunately all relationships require at least a small amount of faith and even more unfortunately that faith is going to be thrown back in your face more times than not.

This the most common thing that women do wonder and i have chatted to quiet a few women, after all it's a dating site not a adult sex site is it ?
People not only like to read others profiles but they do like to see a photo to see if there's a attraction so correct me on that if i'm wrong!
And if such a private person then why on earth would you be on a dating site , look bottom line is this .... women will wonder why that anyone won't put up a face photo as it is known very well on this dating site that there is on both sides people who are cheating so don't get on your high horse here as i'm not saying you are but it's a fact on here, so you should understand why so many think that way. | |

Although,I'm in Kent and,it's quite a built up area now ,it's still a small world.Several friends of mine have profiles here and,they too have dated the same guy.One guy did get his come uppance when both girls met him when he was expecting just the one.
That said,I have met some genuine people here and,remain long term platonic friends socially not,just cyber so,good guys are around. | |

Yes both men and women cheat but its certainly more on the male side than the female side. I'd guess at least 70/30 if not more. As for the question "why do men do this" well we don't all do it. I can honestly say I have never cheated on a girl but I do think a lot of men see it as a badge of honour. Something to brag to their mates about or perhaps it makes them feel like some kind of sex good. I guess growing up watching people like james bond who could have all these women may have affected them too. Its a shame really but it does seem to be "normal" these days I guess with the internet and sites like this or social networks it has become much easier and less risky to cheat. | |

I did send him a message, but still got nothing back.
I cant understand why anyone would spend time texting and ringing if they werent going to meet. I was so confused..
