| Windows 7 to come in 6 editions Posted: 3/19/2009 8:35:47 PM | You should contact microsoft about this issue to see if they got any idea why your computer won't install Vista/7. I wonder if they can get to the bottom of this with you. Who knows maybe someone else is having the same problem.
This is just a shot in the dark here but have you tried Windows 7 RC1 yet? It would be funny if the RC1 installed.

| Windows 7 to come in 6 editions Posted: 3/19/2009 9:49:51 PM | I couldn't be bothered, not worth my Time. Like I said, I had a few Hours to burn, couldn't care less if it installed or not.
It was Rc1 7057 ... | |

I use VirtualBox for all my software beta testing in which i'm using right now to test out Windows 7 beta and a few other beta programs on my pc.

7 dosen't offer me anything I haven't already got. I want my computers to work, why would I install something that's going to slow them down, possibly mess them up, and I might even have to change some of my code (DX 10)?
I will eventually use it at some company where the IT department likes to burn money staying on the MS treadmill.

That's how i got a free version of Vista from Microsoft, because I signed up to be a beta tester for that program and I gave them feedback on that i tested. So they gave everyone that signed up to test their beta version and gave them feedback, a free copy.

| Windows 7 to come in 6 editions Posted: 3/23/2009 8:02:27 AM | It’s silly having so many different versions for windows 7. I personally feel there should be 4 versions
1. Basic (Standard low Spec Systems / Laptops)
2. Professional (Main Stream / High Spec Systems)
3. Ultimate (Want everything lol)
4. Enterprise (Data Centre Version / Servers)

I notice the evil empire isn't giving out free versions of Windows7 to us beta testers. But I'm bored of xp and refuse to spend money on vista so it's a good few free months of a half-decent os.

| Windows 7 to come in 6 editions Posted: 3/25/2009 6:54:37 PM | | Who knows if they will or won't yet. I mean no one that beta tested Vista had any idea they were going to give away a free copy of Vista to those that beta tested it and reported back to them. Microsoft just sprung that one on the beta testers at the last moment right before it went gold. | |

| Windows 7 to come in 6 editions Posted: 3/27/2009 4:01:27 PM | | Yeah, Windows 7 should be Gold right around Aug. Microsoft is trying to push the final release of Windows 7 right before kids go back to school. | |
