| Formula One Posted: 7/2/2009 8:38:37 AM | Wont be as tiny an amount as Mosely wanted.
The amount Mosely wanted would have made it like A1 gp.
And bring back testing. Noone can catch up these days. Instead of making it more exciting they have made it more boring.
|
| Formula One Posted: 7/3/2009 7:44:28 AM | | Last year was definitely more competitive, but I've still enjoyed the racing this year. | |
|
| Formula One Posted: 7/6/2009 2:32:25 PM | I am really enjoying this years GP's. Nice to see a new set of names at the front.
Agreed, I think there shoud be more testing back, but should be a case of putting the thursday and friday before the Grand Prix as 2 days of unlimited testing for the team, no restrictions, on engines, tyres, drivers or chassis.
I think it would make for more interest on a loacl front at each of the tracks for only a minimal increase in costs for the teams.
|
| Formula One Posted: 7/8/2009 11:01:47 AM | alrighty/ so it seem s though they have ironed out some issues/ but where does that leave the confidence. and what when and where are they racing? i've been checking speed and nada/ nothing.
i'm thinking this will get them through the season stumbling as they are. but it's time for some new blood in command. i'd rather hear about racing than sex scandals and how that could be driving up the cost also.

| Formula One Posted: 7/9/2009 3:53:47 AM | Will be nice if Ari Vatinan gets the lead at the FIA, be nice to have a racer in charge for a change.
You can find the 2009 calander at www.f1.com. The 2010 calander is not due for relase until the Autumn\Fall, Normally it is October time when it is fully confirmed.
|
| Formula One Posted: 7/11/2009 12:09:10 AM | To be fair to Max and Bernie they were both races.
Like so many of us if we are cut in two would have pitlane printed on are hearts.
Dispite all the gloom next season is going to be amazing.
|
| Formula One Posted: 7/12/2009 7:58:51 AM | Congrats to Webber. First Aussie win in 28 years I think.
And Massa on the podium, food stuff.
No refueling next year, not sure if thats a good idea. Want them going hard at it all race, not conserving.
|
| Formula One Posted: 7/13/2009 12:30:51 AM | | Go Webber! We Aussies haven't had one of our countrymen take first place since 1981 so it was great to see him do well, even allowing for the drive through. | |
|
| Formula One Posted: 7/17/2009 8:09:23 AM | it was a race/ albeit with it's picky little moments that used to be called racing/ not whining . We' ll have to see how the rest of the season unfold considering so many drivers future's on the line. will they compete or give up?

| Formula One Posted: 7/20/2009 9:34:01 AM | At the halfway point I'm surprised, shocked, and laughing as well. Red Bull on the hunt with Adrian Newey(GENIUS) designed car trying to chase down of all things a Brawn/ honda. Ferrari has been a total letdown, please get rid of kimi and hire alonso PLEASE. Finally Bmw and Mclaren 2 giants who were and are way off the radar. Congrats to Mark Webber and we will see you in Hungray this week. | |
|
| Formula One Posted: 7/21/2009 12:26:15 PM | I'm not overly enthralled with F1 this year. It's been boring as all hell if you ask me.
It seems the race no longer depends on driving skills, but who has KERS..... and screw the poor saps who don't have the big-money sponsors to afford this new engine system. Yes, of course car/engine designs have always been a huge factor.... but driver skill is what ultimately determined who stepped on the podium.
And as for the overall new car designs..... well, need I say any more ?! A ridiculously wide front end that gets busted up at the slightest bump.... aerodynamics my ass.... they're causing more headaches than they're worth. Then there's those ugly little rear wings..... Have we stepped back to the 1980's ??
And all of this was enforced in an attempt to even out the team's competative abilities via 'better' aerodynamics ? I haven't seen any of that this year thus far, have you ? All I see now is Brawn monopolizing the season for the most part. Where's this so-called balancing out ?
And how has any of FIA's new rules and regulations helped to cut costs as they claimed was the reason behind their long list of changes ?!
And then there's the monopoly over which country's get to watch the races, and which one's don't, which ones pay for the 'rights', and which ones don't. In Canada, TSN doesn't air the practice runs, only the qualifying and the actual race. And we have no choice but to be stuck with TSN only. And believe me, TSN's coverage is pathetic at best. Can someone name another public sport that you can't watch on various networks of your choice ?!
And don't even get me started on Montreal no longer being on the FIA's racing calendar....
And the list just goes on. Bernie needs to disappear.
*sigh*
I'm so frustrated. Ok, rant over.

TSN does not have coverage, it rebroadcasts the BBC coverage.
The Speed coverage is blacked out in Canada due to CRT regulations, not FIA or F1.
Last year was great you could watch the race on both Speed and TSN and they usually took different commercial breaks so no missed action.
This year a few of the races are broadcast on Fox but TSN is the only choice, unless you have a US based sat dish.
The practice sessions can be viewed on Speed.
... Can someone name another public sport that you can't watch on various networks of your choice ?!... Every major sport has a TV network deal, which involves exclusive broadcast rights.

| Formula One Posted: 7/26/2009 6:40:29 AM | Hamilton is back on course!
| |
|
| Formula One Posted: 7/26/2009 7:04:33 AM | Well at least Raikonen showed some fight. Hope he keeps it up. thoughts with Massa hope hes ok.
Pity hamilton won in the German/Arabic team. But what can you do? they have done well.
Cheers F.P. | |

| Formula One Posted: 7/28/2009 6:43:39 AM | haven't heard a word on massa/ i understand it was a piece off another car that got him in the head. his father is at every race/ must have been crushing. replay was hard to watch/ just went blank ! black hope the best for him and his family... these cars are as fragile as they are/ are the safest cars on the planet. very bizarre
Doc. | |
|
| Formula One Posted: 7/28/2009 8:13:35 AM | Latest word is Massa may not race again. Skull fracture and eye damage. Micro surgery was needed.
They are trying to tempt Shumacher back. Would be awesome too. Hopefully he will consider it.
|
| Formula One Posted: 7/28/2009 10:59:31 AM | Slightly worrying time in motorsport at the moment ...
first Surtees lad dies in freak accident when a stray tyre caught him on the helmet ..
then Massa - I have NEVER heard of this transverse spring coming off before, almost impossible .
And finally the Renault crew ALLOW Alonso to exit the pit KNOWING that his wheel was loose !! WTF ??!! No surprise that it went bouncing along the road - just lucky that it didnt cause another Henry Surtees type accident looking at the energy that kept it bouncing along for a long way ...
The whole weekend was very reminiscent of Imola when Senna died - there were 'warning' incidents there too : Ratzenberger's death , Rubens horrendous accident ( lucky to be alive!) finally Senna's incident ...
Thoughts and prayers with Massa and his family. There is a strong possibility that the replacement driver will be Marc Gene (current test driver and former F1 pilot ). Not sure Schuey will be passed fit enough - he had a bike crash in March and has a neck injury that still needs to heal properly .
|
| Formula One Posted: 7/28/2009 11:10:28 AM | I liked Gene in his Minardi days. Not a bad steerer. Only with no practice this year, the test drivers havent done enough miles.
Badoer maybe? Another Minardi pedaller. Unlucky that time he was running 4th and the car broke down.
|
| Formula One Posted: 7/29/2009 11:52:00 AM | Michael Shumacher is returning !!!! Sensational news. hes coming back to stand in for the injured Massa.
In my opinion he should have stayed retired. Won it all, nothing left to prove. Will be invaluable in developing next years car though.
|
| Formula One Posted: 7/29/2009 6:38:38 PM | Hamilton vs Shumacher! Hmmm, that would be the race of all races especially now the McLaren MP4-24 has been revamped. C'mon Lewis!
| |
|
| Formula One Posted: 7/30/2009 9:26:14 AM | When I heard the news of Schumacher making a return, I was very excited.
Can't wait to see the race.
|
| Formula One Posted: 8/1/2009 7:11:08 AM | what ever happened to his brother ralph/ never hear anything about him. did he quit or move to other divisions of racing. tec. touring cars etc. i'm sure mikie will have no problem/ he's been right there with research and development. and been in the cars. it is quite possible he will do very well back in the seat. better than research and development :)

| Formula One Posted: 8/1/2009 3:36:40 PM | | ^ I believe Ralf is racing in DTM now. | |
|
| Formula One Posted: 8/4/2009 12:39:38 AM | Ferrari want Schumacher to be able to test the car before the first race ... interestingly Ferrari were one of the teams AGAINST the young spanish lad testing Torro Rosso before the last race ....... However it seems that at least 3 teams are blocking this test request ... Williams, Red Bull , and .. Torro Rosso ( guess who will be looking for a new engine supplier next year.... !!!) | |
|
| Formula One Posted: 8/13/2009 8:26:21 PM | | Looks like Schumacher won't be racing after all due to injuries from an accident a while back. | |
