| Formula One Posted: 9/7/2009 9:29:10 AM | Did he actually gain any though? Seems he was equal second going into the corner and second coming out.
That corner is made for moves like that. every year its the same thing.
Cheers F.P. | |

| Formula One Posted: 9/15/2009 1:28:15 PM |
this year im going for one of my all time favourite drivers and person rubens barricello
I like Rubens, he is a genuinely nice guy, and deserves success after playing second fiddle at Ferrari for so long .... but I hope Jense wins it this year --- after monza, I think the title is between Rubens and Jenson, looks like the Red Bulls have blown it, so Brawn have the constructors title almost in the bag ....
I'm worried about Rubens gearbox though, I dont see it lasting another four races after the flame out at Spa ...
|
| Formula One Posted: 9/15/2009 1:49:05 PM | Ya i hope Reubens wins it, hes a good guy, comes out with the occasional outburst but a good guy. Ferrari should keep Kimi, when he has a car that suits him, he is fast and consistent. Keep Alonso out of Ferrari. | |
|
| Formula One Posted: 9/15/2009 2:23:40 PM | | Alonso will for sure join Ferrari because the biggest bank in Spain and one of the biggest in the world, Santander, which is Spanish, is going to support Ferrari with 60 million euro per year. | |
|
| Formula One Posted: 9/16/2009 9:17:06 AM | What a year....... So what are Flavio Briatore and Pat Symonds going to do for employment now? They just quit Renault! I think they would be a great match for the new Lotus team, or perhaps the to be formed Sauber team that has just been sold to a Swiss group............
Next year will see 14 teams on the grid! Can you imagine that first corner fracus!
It would be nice to see Alonso in a competitive car, as I believe that he is one of the best drivers in F1, but not necessarily in a Ferrari. As far as this year goes, all Button has to do is stay out of first corner problems, and he will win the championship handily. The only person that can challenge him is Rubens.........

| Formula One Posted: 9/24/2009 11:05:53 AM | Singapore this weekend...... Under the lights! The big question I have is who will replace Flavio. I really enjoyed seeing him with his blue glasses, he always gave a good interview. I will miss him.
The bigger question is will Sutil beat Fisi on Sunday????
Paul K | |
|
| Formula One Posted: 9/24/2009 1:28:18 PM | Another ruddy street circuit. bleh. they r so boring, cant we have spa or imola again.
Fisi will be mid pack i think, the pressure of driving for Ferrari will be too much for him. shame, cos he seems like a nice guy.
|
| Formula One Posted: 9/27/2009 4:19:30 AM | | I actually like the street circuits. Their a different test for the cars and drivers. Not run off areas & one mistake and its into the barriers. | |
|
| Formula One Posted: 9/28/2009 5:17:07 AM | Suzuka next week .. thats a proper circuit. and it'll be wet too .
How lucky is Button? If he fell in a sh*t heap he would come up smelling of roses ...
Crap qualifying in 12th, Rubens qualifies 5th, but stuffs the car in the wall - rebuild time and the only time he gets to drive a 'new' car is on the way to the grid ... PLUS Brawn took the decision to finally change the gearbox this weekend giving him a 5 slot penalty on the grid .... The Red Bulls keep falling apart, Rubinho has a dodgy pit stop because of brakes, and JB extends his lead in the title chase ! He has had 6 crap races , and in every one, his main rivals have failed to capitalise...... I tell ya, the man has his name on that Cup !
|
| Formula One Posted: 9/30/2009 5:10:24 PM | Holy Ferrari, Batman!!
Yep, Fernando is going to Ferrari next year, for 3 years. WOW! I have always considered him the most professional, hardest driving man on the grid. It will be fun to see what he does in the color red. The person I feel sorriest for is Hamilton. This year he had a mule instead of a horse, next year, Alonso will be kicking his butt in the Ferrari.......
At this point, all Button has to do is 3 mediocre finishes.... and stay within 2 places of his teammate. I highly doubt that Vettel can finish first three times in a row.............
A great ending to a great year!

| Formula One Posted: 10/2/2009 3:35:02 PM | | This is Jenson's only chance to win the championship. Brawn next year will still be near the front, if not at the very front, but 2010 looks like its going to be close. | |
|
| Formula One Posted: 10/2/2009 5:15:11 PM | I think that the big breakout team next year will be Force India. As long as they have the Mercedes motors and Sutil, they will be good to go. Like you, I think that Jenson better not make any mistakes, as this is probably his best and only chance at the championship.
I have a few aquaintances that raced in 500 GP's, way back when, and they all said that they would trade all of their first place trophy's for just ONE World Championship Trophy. Just imagine how much pressure that Jenson must feel at this point. If he makes it through with 3 more finishes in the top 6 or so, he will be World Champ. I just hope that no one denigrates his accomplishment by saying that he backed into it through the second half of the season.
Third practice soon, and then qualifying!

I just hope that no one denigrates his accomplishment by saying that he backed into it through the second half of the season.
He has still won more GP's this season than anyone else this year . Red Bull have no more engines left , so the chances of a change either in this race or next are quite high - I dont think that Renault have built these motors for endurance racing .. I dont think that the next 'breakout ' team will be Force India.. I think that this might be a shooting star moment for them - back to midfield annonymity for them next year. Ferrari, McLaren, Renault, Red Bull and possibly Brawn will be back at the front next year - new rule changes ( refuelling ) mean radical chassis re-designs, and these are the teams with the biggest resource to develop quickly .
If Bernie Ecclestone had his way with gold medals instead of points, JB would already be cahmp :0)
|
| Formula One Posted: 10/12/2009 5:50:00 PM | How much fuel will each car have to carry? My opinion is that this is a silly way to save a pitance. If they really want to save money, they should simply increase the weight minimums by 100 kilos......... 220 lbs.......................... That would slow them down, and decrease costs. I understand that the idea is to make each car as light as humanly possible, and then to put it where it is best served, but the adittional weight minimum would blunt that quite a bit.
At least they didn't get rid of tire warmers. THAT would have cause a lot of accidents on the first couple of "out" laps.
Hopefully BE just sits back and lets the professionals do what they do best, instead of trying to improve things he has no clue about. Thats right Bernie, just walk around the pits with your arm around some fine babe, with your hand on her a$$...... Thats about all you are good for anymore anyway..................

| CONGRATULATIONS JENSON BUTTON - WORLD CHAMPION 2009 Posted: 10/18/2009 11:43:48 AM | CONGRATULATIONS JENSON BUTTON - WORLD CHAMPION 2009
Great drive from him today , did just enough , passed people with aggression where he needed to , and like I have said all along, he is a lucky ********* !!
The luck went his way again today - dont ever play poker with JB !! Rubens' poor luck continued with a puncture in the last 5 laps following contact with Lewis' end plate , to end his challenge there and then . Very sporting response from Rubens at the end.
The fairy tale was completed by Brawn GP winning the constructors title at their first attempt - congratulations to all the team . :0)
|
| CONGRATULATIONS JENSON BUTTON - WORLD CHAMPION 2009 Posted: 10/18/2009 1:15:10 PM | Ya congrats to Button, he seems a genuinely nice bloke.
Pity about Raikonen, but what can you do?
I think they should have 2 races at Spa and 2 at Brazil every year. Always great racing and overtaking
|
| CONGRATULATIONS JENSON BUTTON - WORLD CHAMPION 2009 Posted: 10/19/2009 1:50:48 PM | I agree about 2 races at Spa and Brazil, but would add one more to Monaco..... Congrats to Button, he earned it the hard way, with a car that wasn't quite up to snuff the second half of the season.
My new favorite driver is Kamui Kobayahsi............ The move he put on Raikonnen was big league. I can't wait see how he does at Abu Dhabi. If he is listening, and they are listening........Drive for Renault next year.
AND, there will be quite a race between Rubens and Vettel, as they are only two points apart. The pictures of the Abu Dhabi track are incredible, looks like a fantasstic venue. If the track is as good as the rest of it, it would be fantastic.

... unfortunately, there will not be anyone there to see it sadly - attendances at the mid east tracks is struggling to get into the twenty thousands mark, a far cry from the European tracks regularly getting 100,000 + ( Spain, Spa, Monza, even the UK etc etc ) ...... purely for the telly !
|
| CONGRATULATIONS JENSON BUTTON - WORLD CHAMPION 2009 Posted: 10/19/2009 4:58:12 PM | Twenty thousand in attendance???? That is pitiful. I've been to high school football games where there have been more spectators than that. I guess that goes to show that if you have enough money, and enough of it finds it way to BE, yes, even you can have your own GP.......
When they ran the GP in the US at Indianapolis, there were WAY more than that. Now that I think about it, they should stage the F1 GP race at Laguna Seca.... Can you imagine F1 cars going up the hill and over and down the corkscrew!!!! It would probalby not get homologated. Everything else is there. A beautiful seaside town, etc. They do race MotoGP there........... And get over 80,000 in attendance. The real problem is that the track is a non-profit, and the ultimate oxymoron is combing "non-profit" and "Bernie Eccolstone".......................
Abu Dhabi will still be fun to watch.

| CONGRATULATIONS JENSON BUTTON - WORLD CHAMPION 2009 Posted: 10/27/2009 11:50:31 AM | Congrats to Button! The most interesting thing that I can think of for this coming weekend at Abu Dhabi is the fact that Kamui Kobayashi will again be driving the Toyota in Timo Glocks place as he hasn't sufficiently recovered. After watching him school Raikonnen on how to make a draft/pass in Brazil, I can't wait to see how he does on an even footing with the rest of the drivers, as no one has driven that circuit yet.
Three days to go!

| CONGRATULATIONS JENSON BUTTON - WORLD CHAMPION 2009 Posted: 11/4/2009 3:07:22 AM | Well its official. Toyota are leaving F1 with immediate effect. Hopefully Kobiyashi gets a drive, that kid is exciting to watch. we need some excitement as we wade through the boring Tilke tracks. | |
|
| CONGRATULATIONS JENSON BUTTON - WORLD CHAMPION 2009 Posted: 11/5/2009 5:48:34 PM | Ross Brawn should be knocking on Kobayashis door right now........... If Button wants too much money, I would hire Kobayashi immediately. I can still see the move he put on Raikonnen in Brazil............... It was big league.
Paul K | |
|
| Kobayashi Posted: 11/14/2009 9:10:33 AM | Kobayashi has been on the fringes for a while now - GP2 champion, and a bit like Lewis in his reputation for passing people :) he is no rookie, but he is good to watch !
Lenson looks like going to McLaren next year - already been to visit the factory and rumoured to have a seat fitting , amidst stories that Brawn won't pay him his requested salary for next year . Thats a shame , as he took a 50% salary cut last year to drive for the team ... Thats business I guess .....
|
| Kobayashi Posted: 11/14/2009 11:23:29 AM | Jenson should be fine if he goes to McLaren, if he can live with playing second fiddle to Lewis. | |
|
| Jenson at McLaren .. Posted: 11/15/2009 3:55:53 AM | That will be the big problem - I dont think that he will be able to do that .
Mind you , McLaren have experience of running two world champs in their team before , Senna and Prost - and look how that ended up ! :)
|
