Do you think that American women today, in general, suffer from The Princess Syndrome?

I always wanted to be a princess.... lol....maybe in another life!

I think that American women....and women in general get labeled as this and that by men who are rejected by the object of their desire....

And the opposite is true of women...I'm sure of it.

No bitterness and name calling (even if it is "princess") ever came from a well-rounded, logical, and genuinely happy person...... unless of course, they're just having a bad day......once the stars in their lives are realigned, which never takes long for this type of person.... all those negative thoughts fly out the window and happiness and acceptance abounds once more.

I'm just sayin'.

Having traveled and stayed awhile in many different countries, and gotten a feel for perceptions about Americans, I thought I would share the following about foreign dates vs Americans: First of all, though I have NOT been to Europe, I HAVE met many many Europeans traveling. I can assure you that many of the Western Europeans do not necessarily think all that highly of Americans, they more like 'tolerate' them, with the exception of Eastern Europeans and Russians, many of whom have women who would eagerly land an American man as a date! Secondly, in Africa, many people are scared of the idea of coming to America-they think it's too dangerous over here, and have seen so many violent films about 'life in America'-or what they think is the story based on Hollywood. As far as Latina, Carribean and Asian women, they think it is some kind of an end goal to score an American man, BECAUSE they think the American man will treat them well . Does that make them princesses?? Of course in the 2nd and third world countries, the American woman is an equally hot commodity! So, add all that up, and what do you have? A nation of discontents practicing the very human trait of 'the exotic is more interesting, beautiful, valuable, _, _, (fill in the blank) The mysterious unknown is so much more appealing to many than what is in their own backyard! I say ,folks, stop taking so much and each other for granted. Peeps have absolutely no idea how much privilege is inherent in life here. AND PS, all preceding comments were based solely upon my personal experiences living and talking with people in those places, and as always, there are more levels of analysis and exceptions as well as socioeconomic differences too. But, that is what I think of this theory!

yeah fleur, there is absolutely no better education than that of people in other countries who opened their hearts and homes to me and shared their thoughts and dreams. I feel very blessed for all of those friends and experiences and everything learned along the way!
