Posted: 3/11/2009 11:54:54 AM | Have not received a further call back from the casino so it appears we will need to use the POF dead fish (body) imitation laying across a table. Hoping Missing Link and the Saskatchewan contingent can walk over from the CanadInn early and get us a spot at the front of the line so their 100 friends can join as we arrive. In my original call Jaguars did decline my request to reserve tables for us for that hour so we will need to use our own initiative and rush the gate.
Geez, haven't done that since 1983 or so . . .
If we successfully nab enough tables to seat 100 fish (that's a big school) at 7:00 PM I would suggest that if the rest of the POFers have not arrived by 8:00 we should give them up to other Jaguars patrons.

Posted: 3/12/2009 12:16:49 PM | Hello fellow fishs ---This is not easy for me to say but there may be a problem with transportation as not enough has signed up in sask nor got their money into bus tour company in time ,moderator pulling it off sask site is of course one reason and untill i get a hold of co host,I dont know what else to say at this time,you may have to proceed without us ,which is a real shame .  I guess you could say  you loose .
I gave it a try and have written moderator a letter but as of yet no reply.Will do my best to keep you informed. | |

Sorry about all the letters ,This is my orig. letter sent for your approval as i said i would send along,just wanted you to take another look at it ,to see if in the future sometime perhaps someone else wants to give this another try,they will know how better to proceed ,i thought when you approved it that it was ok,so i proceeded the best i knew how and really did try to remain within the good spirit of a all pof posting rules.If you could now point out problems perhaps if someone tries this again as it did pick up spirits ,they could avoid the mistakes that were made .thanks for now i await your help and your reply.

Dear Moderator I am writing to you to ask of your permission to post a party thread for a pof get together held at the Club Regent hotel and casino in winnipeg Man.R2C-3B2 on march 21st/2009 which would be open to all pof members free of charge of course, each member would be responsible for there own transportation and accomidation cost of which i would like to suggest could be rather inexpensive if they choose to sign up for a reg.casino bus tour type of package.I suggest the Club Regent as i went on a bus casino tour in 2007 and figured it would be an excellent venue to hold such a get together as it hosts the largest indoor salt water aquarium in north america and there is huge statues inside and outside of fishs,so what better place to hold what could become an annual get together.
I have spoken to the hotel and casino staff and the meeting room/lounge in the lower level could be made available for pof members at no cost,which is a nice bonus and would be a great place to oneday perhaps host a pof get together and invite Marcus-aka the big fish to attend so all pof members would have the oppurtunity to meet him and thank him in person for this wonderfull dateing site which he createxd to help many people meet - date and find true love free of chargewhat a great idea} and I for one appluaud and support his forethought.
So i see this as a great oppurtunity to have some true fun and thank Marcus and promote his site as well.I have come to know many pof members and have become good friends with many of them of which some have started long term committed relationships and if siome of them could attend such an eventwhat a tribute to what Marcus Created.I already have some who said they agree 100% and would attend such.
I have to date never hosted and find the time and my computer skills to be a bit lacking,however would love to share this oppurtunity with co hosts and your assistance.I hope this letter to you was not to long,however i wanted to include as much info as to the reasons for wanting to post such an event.

It is very relaxing sleeping off a hangover in the VIA viewing car.
Bonus . . . might be room on the bad-a-bing bus for Angel now!
We will party and dance on . . . hopefully some SK folks will still make it.
Hang in there Missing Link. Hosting is a lot of fun when it works out! Early on we had a couple of events fall through for mysterious reasons, too.

Posted: 3/12/2009 12:49:05 PM | Thanks E4u your a trooper,i dont think via runs out of regina only saskatoon and if people are slow to sign up for a cheap 70.00 casino bus tour which included room for 2 nights, i rather doubt they could or would grasp any other concept.but spoken in good spirit all the same. May be some will still show up in their motorized wheel chairs
Has anyone in winnipeg got a couch they could lend a pissed off sask host ????   Will keep in touch ,Thanks again E4u. | |

Tonight, Sat. March 14th :
Caraballo (Caribbean party band) is playing tonight at Jaguars Dance Club.
Good dancing fun. Wide variety of latin, reggae & calypso, & pop.
All the shy POF fishies can explore the venue without drawing attention to themselves.
Leave the POF helium fish balloon at home. Cover up the big gold "I'm Serious" badge.
But please do bring your dancing shoes! And say hello. (dispense with the secret POF tail wag).

Marcus here is letter i mailed moderator 3 plus days ago she has viewed it 3 days ago,but as of yet no reply.!!! Welcome to your first co-hosting duty. The event is now coordinated for a timing and thread standpoint and I hereby pass you the torch to party, greet and dance all night long.
You are hereby designated as the lead fish! May the entire school find you first in line. I will be trying to pick up the perennial fish mascot (look at baja pictures to see him/her/it) so everyone can spot your table and the other meet and greeters.
Several fish have been contacted to become the cheering and dancing squad partying and dancing to your direction. Don't worry as they really don't need much encouragement to party and dance. As they agree to me publicly naming them I will add to this thread or certainly some may self identify.
May the inaugaural spring disco dance begin . . .
