| Do you know what exactly what you want from life now?
Posted: 9/3/2009 7:38:05 AM | I've led a very interesting life and believe I've made some great contributions to the world at large. Right now, I'd like (in that tactical versus strategic sense) to evolve into a great relationship with a man i can resonate with-- and share peace, joy, love, passion, romance, ideas and their application. It would be great if we could continue "service" together in some sort of meaningful way.
I have always said to learn and to serve are our reasons for being here in a body and on this planet. Fairly recently, I've added love to my list. The SCW trinity: learn, serve and love! Out of the cognitive mode, it would be nice to "feel" safe and secure--not always alone. Well, at least for half of the time. I realize that life is never a free ride! I do life, one day at a time and I do trust the universe. It has a way larger purpose and I do feel a part of it. However, being human, at times it gets a bit scary! To share the joys, as well as the fears, would be a good thing for me. I've taken on many things alone and have nothing to prove in the "independence" department. I would like to prove to myself, that I can be a good partner in more than just the corporate world. That part is over for me and I did a good job! | |

Posted: 9/3/2009 12:44:38 PM | Yes. I know EXACTLY what I want, but also know what I DONT want. I know how much of the UNKNOWN I'm willing to deal with, and how much KNOWN I want.
I know how I want to spend my time.
I know how I want to BE in the world, with friends, my kids, other humans.
I know how much I want to be alone at times. I LIKE myself and am fine alone.
I know what I expect from others, and realize that the ONLY disappointments in life come from having expectations. The fewer I have from others, the less disappointments I experience.

same at 90
few good years you have left
your needs
pleanty of money
soulmate dies before you
these don't reflect so well to me. I mean, a few months back I accidentally poked our 2nd line center forward player for the Canadian Olympic team in the eye with my fingernail while checking him in a game in Hull. Our team had six players, some of us old goats fighting it out but a few young'uns as well..
Can someone just look to the present. That's a lot of fun lately. | |

wish for good health. I want to be around to enjoy my grandkids as long
as possible. If I find love again, that would be great, but what good is
that, if you're not healthy enough to enjoy being in love. | |

. I'd like to live in a few more interesting places and different cultures around the world. I want more friends, (adopted) family, and a community of artistic peers that value me for who I am and my work. I want to love, be loved, and have a fantastic sex life.

Posted: 9/5/2009 8:03:48 PM | Well, I already have a good life with a comfortable home and financial security.
I would like to add to it a life partner who is both best friend and lover. Someone who loves me just as I am, who I can love just as they are. I want one special person to treasure me above all others who will walk through the rest of my life holding my hand, smiling and enjoying all of life's blessings by my side. Being an optimist I feel I will find this.
I hope to enjoy reasonably good health, and on the basis of my gene pool, and the longevity of women in my family this is a good possibility.
I would like to see both my children grow up, get educations, find meaningful life work, find love and have families, and being able to watch grandchildren grow.
I hope to stay strong in my faith such that when I take my last breath I will wake up in heaven with my Lord and get to dance at the feet of Jesus. | |

What is it that your trying to achieve for the balance of your life?
I think as long as I succeed at staying true to myself, I will be able to move forward and achieve a fulfilling quality of life.
As a single parent I have put alot of my own needs and desires on the back burner in order to devote my time and energy into raising my daughters.
Now that they are reaching the age where they will soon be out of the house and on their own, I am slowly weaning myself out of "mommy-mode".
It's time for me to reclaim my life and focus on my own wants and desires!

Posted: 9/6/2009 11:01:09 AM | | I'm retiring next year, to a nice little place on a lake with a slip for my boat and good hunting nearby. Two of my wants taken care of already. I'm financially secure and have the love of a good woman, so two more taken care of. I think the last would be good health for about 30 more years, so I can enjoy those "golden years." | |

Posted: 9/8/2009 12:39:22 PM | I can't think of anything I want that I also think I could have. Aside from that, I want all sorts of things. So I guess what I want, exactly, is to be able to figure out something that I can both want and have. That could be anything and I'd be happy. I'm stuck, resigned to appreciating what I do have already, even as it slips away, as what I can say good-bye to.
This is a competitive world we live in. What you want comes at my expense. What I want comes at your expense. I want us to help one another rather than compete like that. I can't have that. That leaves what I can get for myself competitively, which is ruined by the way it is got, like trying to enjoy what you bought with stolen money and also maintaining your integrity, it can't be done. The way I see the world excludes me from it. It's a fatal flaw but provides ample comedy.
