Isn't BC talking about the Upgrade ?

Frankly, I think that the success of an advertising-supported model makes it worth keeping. But it's not my business.

Once you charge, you're up against some very established sites (who have been advertising on PoF and might stop if they felt competition) and you get members who feel an entitlement that makes them impatient and rude. How often have we heard some boor describing a date in terms like.. "Fifty bucks and I didn't even get [whatever]!"

Right now, we're all co-operating, giving at taking. People who pay just expect to take.

Isn't BC talking about the Upgrade to Serious Member?
Posted: 6/7/2009 11:16:09 AM
I'm wondering that when the upgrade to Serious Member was initially offered if users had to complete a questionnaire designed to determine their ability to hold a relationship?

I don't remember seeing it then. There is now a page with 25 questions.

I read in the global forums how some people were not passing this test, so curious to see how I'd fare and somewhat expecting to fail also, I answered the questions honestly, even admit to thinking about the Internet often.

Now I am told that, and I quote:

Men can expect on average women making first contact 9x more than before! (This one is shocking)
Women can expect on average a 40% increase in first contacts.

What surprises me (besides my passing the test) is the reported great difference in first contact rates between men and women, 9x vs 1.4 x.

Do you have any theories on this difference?

I hear ya, however, so far, so good, they have not decided to charge, YET.
Makes me wonder tho, with the Instant Messenger, being gone, if that is going to be a feature that we will have to pay for, to bring it back.

Cuz, Instant Messenger was no charge before.

Hidden costs, as it is called.
